The little guy of Jack's crew. I never realized my guyfriend knows him! He worked with him on an episode of Just Shoot Me. Marty was part of the Village Little People and my guyfriend was playing a club owner. This past weekend was the autograph show in Burbank and Marty was there to sign stuff from both Pirates 1 and 2. I wasn't able to go, had to work all weekend, but my guyfriend goes to them all the time. Marty saw him and called him over to his table. They talked about this and that, hadn't really seen each other since they did that episode. He said it was good to catch up and it'd be cool to hang out with him more. He's just a nice guy! :)

Okay, everybody's got a favorite do-rag, bandana, etc., the one they love above all others....for some, it might be a simple piece of cloth, to keep sweat out of your eyes, while tying off a line, for others, though, it might just be something more........ mine has a story......my dad bought it......it's silk, and pretty light.....it absorbs sweat pretty well, and the print is very nice....... how I came to posess it, however, is that, I basically ruined it........ I made the mistake of washing it, and the colors weren't colorfast......and they ran.........I also have a rather large head, so I stretched it out........ but I love it anyway, and continue to wear it.....…

Okay, the movie "Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World*" is coming out in November. It's got big ships, big guns, some nasty privateers... any buzz? Any thoughts? I've had the book on my shelves for years but I've never gotten around to reading it. Anybody read it? *Despite the title, I understand that Gary Larson was not consulted during the production...

...but it DID come out o' me fingers whilst waitin' fer the last student o' th' day...don't be knowin' iffn' it be the start o' a story o' jes plain stupid scribblin's...yer choice... ___________________________________________________________ No longer would she silently and obediently wait for her man to return to port. She’d learned the ancient ways of bladed warfare thanks to the friendly town armorer, who had more than once responded to her flashed smile and lowered eyelashes. And why wouldn’t he, if he were a red-blooded man? Not like that milquetoast husband of hers…Indeed, for that matter, why shouldn’t SHE use the knowledge, born in every woman, that the…

I am laughing still at the title of the movie..not the "Privates of the Caribbean"..no " The curse of the..." Uhm..i know it is very "naughty" but i figure we're all adults and it truly seems like a well made movie, and not some dirty cheap flick! I have ordered it, in the Dutch discribtion it said top budget movie with beautiful three master ships, white beaches, pirates..quite obviously, and anything more you'd want to see. It also said "What you didn't see in the movie"...i can imagine ROTFLMAO Privates of the Caribbean Oh by the way, the one i ordered is said to be 115 minutes, so watch out if you want it, there may be more versions! This is an excerpt …

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but some kind soul has put the entire 1990 TV movie version of Treasure Island up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6B19E3AEE70D2DFC This version, starring Christian Bale as Jim Hawkins and Charlton Heston as Long John Silver, has never been released on DVD. VHS copies are rare and selling for quite a bit on Amazon & eBay.

The complete details came from DVDAnswers.com "Disney has announced plans to release a three-disc edition of Pirates Of The Caribbean this November. I'm afraid that details are still pretty sketchy on this one at the moment, although we can tell you that it will be made up of the standard two-disc set already on the market, along with a bonus disc containing eight new bonus features. The set will be available to own from the 2nd November this year, priced at around $29.99" Hmmmm, that's interesting.

I just love the Goonies, my kids love the Goonies, and now my kids friends love the Goonies.. ok, so they've got a little cussin' but I just tells 'em that just cause they hear it doesn't mean they can say it! We watched it again tonight, and they all sat through it without fidgiting or needing to pause it or anything... they were glued. And then after, it was "Aw, that was a GOOD movie! I want to have adventures like that...!" ME TOO!

Weird but true.. Here in Holland we could pre-order the two dvd set at this shop (Freerecordshop) and it would include a film poster and dvd of other movie free. I went and payed and got the poster and movie dvd and..the two dvd set box with the extra's!! I'm so happy WWOOHOOOOOOO So, here's the menu's for the extra's, sorry to say..no deleted scenes.. ??!! Man i was looking forward to that but on the box it always says Bloopers and they're not on it so that's on the first dvd i guess so if it doesn't say deleted scenes at all..i guess that's not on I also hate that there's no spoken comments with actors, only authors. All in all not comparable to the first…

I first thought the only way to attend the premiere (and I don't mean just the red carpet part) was to know someone involved in some way with the movie. But then I saw this: http://home.disney.go.com/movies/pirates/premiere/ Of course tho, you gotta have the big bucks to do this. This would have to be chump change to you, lol!

I can't for the life of me remember who asked but... I know I said I'd ask the writers about where the name Barbossa came from. This email came from Terry today. Hope it helps!! <omited> <omited> Barboss'a name had, oddly, many influences. You might think it began with the Barbarrosa Brothers but at the time we were (or at least I was) only vaugely familiar with that reference. I would have probably associated the word more with the old Willie Nelson film. I think it started with the notion of the Barbary Coast or the Barbard Coast Pirate. Thr Barbary Coast Pirates were located in North Africa. I believe, though the reference is maybe more common to th…

I know there was a lively discussion of the whole eye-patch issue in another thread. Last night they were advertising the pirate mythbuster for next wednesday. From their site: Episode 71: Pirate Special Arggghhh, me hearties! Jamie and Adam plundered the seven seas in search of pirate parables and maritime myths. The result? This 2-hour spectacular episode! And, with four stories of hijinks on the high seas the action is thick and fast. Playing with more firearms, the guys try to figure out how deadly cannonballs really are versus the splinters sprayed from a mighty broadside blast. Kari, Grant and Tory on the port side decode the mysteries of the ol' pirate eye patc…

If you haven't seen it, or played it, get it. I got a copy of it last weekend, and it's great. You have to provide wenching, grog, and gambling to make yer pirates happy. You have to create fear for your captives and ships for your Captains! I love the cats that wonder around the island thinking these comments of "I own you." And "Serve me Human!" They have shops later on that make hats, and wooden legs fer yer pirates, long with other things. A Pirate hatching aviary, which is hysterical. It's a great game if you haven't seen it, along the lines of the Civilization games by Serria, but since it's Pirate based it's better! But I really have to say the Jamaican …

Recently while sailing the Netflix shores I discovered a few interesting streaming films that have a pirate theme or similar adventure styled tales. I though perhaps the Pub members could share Netflix gems they have found streaming? We can even share documentaries and historical features. I found the following: Treasure Island 1999 (with Jack Palance as Long John Silver) Treasure Island 2012 (with Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver and Elijah Wood as Ben Gunn) Treasure Planet, Disney's animated science fantasy version of the classic story. Rob Roy Plunkett and MacLeane

This month's edition of Harper's Bazaar notes that designer Anna Sui's Spring collection takes inspiration from pirate garb: You can see the whole collection on Sui's website: http://www.annasuibeauty.com/site/fashion_shows.htm The video of the runway show is particularly good, as the soundtrack starts off with Bow Wow Wow's "Louis Quatorze", suggesting Sui was probably inspired more directly by Vivienne Westwood than Jack Sparrow. And the final song is Johnny Thunders' "Pirate Love". Brilliant! I wish I could afford this stuff and had a place to wear it. Instead, old punk that I am, I'll probably just give a nod to the style on a more street-functional level, co…
