I just bought a musical pirate ship from the craft store "Michaels" (Southeast US). I normally don't go for this kind of kitsch but couldn't pass it up with the 40% coupon I had. It retails for $49.99. What be it, ye may ask? Well, it be a pirate ship (galleon?) about 12" in length and it sits on a fake blue plastic ocean (3-dimensional) which has treasure, bits, and a dingy with a pirate floating in the ocean. So what, ye ask? Here be the kicker...you plug it in and the ship rocks back and forth to the sound of the ocean, pirate captain shouts some orders at the other pirates, cannons ka-boom and light up, pirates sing "yo ho ho" AND they are all skeletons! Ship is calle…

Here I was just sitting surfing the site and I looked up on my desk and I found this: I literally have no idea where or when I got it. I am totally certain I did not add the loop onto the coin as this will drastically decrease the value of the coin.

Avast me hearties! I be findin' a treasure at me nearest Wal-Mart. Black boots fer $15. Now, they ain't accurate or even leather but if ye be a pirate on a budget or jest lookin' fer somethin' fer All Hallow's Eve then ye be in luck: These be women's boots but the they be lookin' right smart on ye menfolk as well. I be a hard fit and they be havin' wide widths and full calves with an elastic gusset fer extra room. They be fittin' me like a dream - considerin' me last pair o'black boots be custom-made.

Ahoy there, me hearties! Like the good Captain Clegg (a.k.a Dr. Syn the Scarecrow), my daylight identity be that of a "mild"-mannered illustrator. I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in custom-made wanted posters? They would feature an "engraved" portrait of you in all yer piratical glory! Think of them being in the style of the old woodcut and print posters. Where would a nasty pirate be without some good press? It worked fer Henry Morgan...now he's got a rum empire to manage! If I get enough replies...I'll be happy to produce a sample and let ye all decide. -Redd

Well, every now and then I guess we all have to "clean out our closets" so to say. I am changing a lot of the stage combat work I do from short and longsword work to cutlass and rapier, so I am selling some of my old starfires. I have two starfire swords, both about 24" in length, one with the classic straight guard, and one with a curved handle. The one with the green wrapped handle and the curved handle is no longer produced by starfire and is one of their collectible pieces. I also have a brown leather sheath to go with the green handled sword that will fit a belt width from 1" to 4". I also have a green and gold pirate coat, more of a dress coart than a everyday…

I've wanted an 8 Reales coin, a reproduction in silver would be fine, I was looking for a "holed" coin (traditional peasant wear......rather than something in a gold plated bezel bearing an octapus with emerald eyes.....). Found some with potential....reproduced from Atocha coins cast in the silver bars from the Atocha...but getting good information on them is tough. Wouldn't have to be from the Atocha (and sterling would be fine if the coin was what I'm looking for) something before the pillars and waves....Suggestions ?

I'm drawing out a design for a t-shirt back for friends (seasonal gift thing), thought to do something with PotC, but copyright aside......all those colours), plan is a large pirate ship centered and "on the account" below...your expert advice...........which ship would you recommend? ...and is the wording properly ...."On the Account" or "On Account"........ maybe a skull and X on the "pocket" area front...... made some "Hogwarts" crest shirts, too cute for some.....

Just curious as to what footwear is best for ship activities. Not necessarily re-enacting. This kind of echoes another thread, but wet decks, climbing rigging, etc. can't be easy in a pair of boots. Would tennis shoes be the best? Some sort of sandal? Barefoot with calluses the size of halibut? I was just thinking back on my days of rock-climbing and the shoes we used then. If you're not familiar with them, they are a light canvas shoe with a large, sticky rubber sole curving up over the toes and heel, usually purchased 1 to 1 1/2 sizes smaller than your street shoe, and usually in colors that would make golfers hyperventilate. Anybody ever tried them on a ship?

I'm posting this here for the rest of you to see. Boats and I looked over the stuff and guffawed a lot! Good greif, we've got better stuff in our treasure chests then what's being sold for mucho bucks! Most of the stuff can be gotten at any craft store(package of gems, $1.99) worth it's weight! Gee go get some lava rocks off your barbeque and paint them gold...get some Xmas beads for color really cheap at the holiday times for a couple of bucks. I could go on and on about how disgusted I was when seeing what was offered and the outrageous prices that were being offered by those wanting to buy them. Geesh, just cuz the movie prop stuff was in a movie doesn't make…

I was looking into getting a few of my reales mounted but I am not impressed with a normal looking gold or silver chain. I was looking for a chain that was similar in shape (definately not size) to an anchor chain. Any suggestion where to find some?
