I'm just kinda curious How many of you seadogs & Buccaneers out there either collect or have any artwork (orginals or prints) that are Naval, piratical or historical in nature, or are even remotely interested in art. What about "comic" artwork, any of you swabs have any pirate comics or art? I'm always interested in that format, I've never seen any myself, though I've heard somebody had done some pirate comics recently. I have some old magazines from the late 20's early 30's that have illustrated Rapheal Sabatini stories in them. Just kinda curious to see what everybodies interests are as far as art goes I myself have a few pieces of original art, and w…

Someone at the local paper found out that I do pirate re-enacting and they sent a cool reporter out to interview me. So I just spent an hour and a half with the guy talking about pirate re-enacting, the forum, Stynky, my Patrick Hand original hat and authentic Michael Bagley garb, Red Jessi, Stynky, Grace Thatcher, PiP, Stynky and, of course, Stynky. I even played him my phone message that Stynky left for me at PiP in 2007, which you can re-read here. I told him to quote it verbatim. ("That's Paul. P A U L. Sounds just like a-PALL-ing.") If it actually turns into an article, I'll be sure to post links to it so's you can all be nauseated by my self-aggrandizing. It's a…

Due to a failing economy with little hope for recovery and a history to support the possibility of future failure even after recovery, I think it is possible that piracy may someday see another golden age. Regardless of that, what do you think about the possibility of sky pirates someday becoming a reality? Whether it is steam, heat, or electricity that fuels the ship, airships are possible. I don't mean just planes, I mean dirigibles and flying fortresses. The Germans actually would have had one in WW2, if not for a problem with using hydrogen(from what I was told). If ever my fleet were to take to the seas, at least one airship could be convenient for a number of rea…

POTC 2 & 3 Rumors I just made up... * Due to personal health reasons, Gore Verbinski (director of the original Pirates of the Caribbean film) has resigned as director for the remaining POTC sequels. In his place, Disney has hired Kevin Smith (of “Clerks / Jay & Silent Bob” fame) to take the helm. * After days of hiding from the media circuit, Orlando Bloom has finally admitted that he truly doesn’t know what the difference between a wood elf and a pirate is. * The title of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie will not be "Dead Man's Chest" as so eagerly anticipated. Instead, the theatrical release will simply be known as "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Wh…

Her logo is on the front and the back is a scene of the Pirates coaxing the dog from the cells. The dog on the back it NOT phoebe and that is obvious. WHo knew she'd ever make good?

Well mates... seems Johnny is right peevish about the departure of our Chairman Dick Cook. According to my info of the moment, (which a we all know changes with every breath) there may be some *re thinking* about Pirates 4. Johnny says that everything that *He* agreed too was born in Dick's office and he is VERY unhappy that he has been forced out. I'll keep you in the loop with anything that I can share....

I am trying to figure out something about this image - who drew it, when it was drawn, what it's called or anything to help figure where it's from. It's all over Zazzle - suggesting to me that it's a public use image - where they explain that it's a "Vintage illustration black and white pirate fairy tale story image with pirates drinking and carousing on the deck of their pirate ship." A pirate fairy tale story? Anyone?

Okay, the movie "Master and Commander - The Far Side of the World*" is coming out in November. It's got big ships, big guns, some nasty privateers... any buzz? Any thoughts? I've had the book on my shelves for years but I've never gotten around to reading it. Anybody read it? *Despite the title, I understand that Gary Larson was not consulted during the production...

The little guy of Jack's crew. I never realized my guyfriend knows him! He worked with him on an episode of Just Shoot Me. Marty was part of the Village Little People and my guyfriend was playing a club owner. This past weekend was the autograph show in Burbank and Marty was there to sign stuff from both Pirates 1 and 2. I wasn't able to go, had to work all weekend, but my guyfriend goes to them all the time. Marty saw him and called him over to his table. They talked about this and that, hadn't really seen each other since they did that episode. He said it was good to catch up and it'd be cool to hang out with him more. He's just a nice guy! :)

Set for release in bookstores around Thanksgiving, the adventure yarn is set off the coast of Jamaica in 1665. The Thunderbuss MK IV I started on another ray-gun, the “Thunderbuss MK IV.” I figured that people would be interested in seeing how I put it all together, so I will be taking pictures of the process step by step. I can only play with it occasionally, so it might be awhile between post. When I start a project like this, I really don't know how it's all going to fit together... I just kind of play with everything and see what fits together the best. I do want to rig it with lights that turn on when I hold the pistol grip (I'm thinking of making a switch that is an extension of the trigger guard). I also want a laser and a piezoelectric buzzer that will activate when the …
