I know somewhere I saw a POTC theme that had lovely wallpaper, icons including the coin, a lovely creepy hand for the pointer, and a sword for a pen. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

What the heck is that long white thing in Capt. Jack Sparrows hair? I've seen that movie a dozen or two times, even done freeze frame and zoom in on the DVD, and I still can't figure out what it is. Is it a bone? a feather? a pipe? I'm stumped!

Does anyone remember the really funny movie The Princess Bride? My friend got it in her head that she'd turn the movie/ book into a play at our school, so a bunch of us have been working on it and rehearsals 'ave started and it's looking pretty good, we've got lots a stage combat, and sword fighting, and acrobatics, and some really good actors. I'm really excited for it so I thought I'd share it with all you pyrates.

Schooner Article on CNN Nice little article.....though I think they should really put a bit more effort into their "attire".....at least we know of one ship that gives everyone the "full" effect. "Bramlett says the only way she can afford the vessel is by having it work for her, so she and a crew of 10 take passengers on bay-area sailing trips."..............wow....this sounds familiar.

After watching POTC again yesterday, it occurred to me that the question of why Barbossa was coming to find the medallion at that time. Why not sooner? Curious, was there an age thing that wasn't explained, or did I miss it somewhere? Rumba Rue **I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message**

Okay folks, one or two emails is one thing but I a being overwhelmed with people asking me if there is truth to the rumor that there is a casting call for POTC2 soon. No. No. And no! I don;t care where you heard it or in what state of the union. I don't care how nice the person was or how knowledgable they seemed. There is no scheduled upcoming auditions. For anything. Whoever is still taking this rumor out for it's daily walk will you please stop. Again, there is NO TRUTH to the RUMOR that there is a casting call soon for POTC2 At least not one sanctioned by the production company or Jerry Bruckheimer productions. I promise, I promise I will post it here …

Don't know if this has been discussed before but I've been given a copy of a great 1700's sea novel. The title is "Artemis" and it revolves around a central character by the name of Kydd. If you like looking up working parts of a ship and reading in what seems like probable historical sea talk then this books for you. Good thing is its part of a series so there's more good reading once your finished with Artemis. The author is Julian Stockwin.. See what you think. Saber PS.. Captain Royaliste, I'll be bringing the novel this weekend, I think you'll enjoy it Sir.

I had to share this story with all of you. My violin teacher also teaches a children's orchestra in one of the local schools. After I showed her a copy of the POTC sheet music for violin, she asked if the entire score could be purchased. I found it for her and she asked the kids if they'd like to do Pirates of the Caribbean. The kids were very enthusiastic about the idea, and so she purchased the score. Tonight, she told me that she couldn't believe the difference in the kids since they started POTC. "They are all practicing!!" she said "I can't believe it!!" These kids are so psyched about playing the music, from what she tells me it is just amazing the difference…

I was watching the newly released DVD of Crimson Pirate last night when I heard the voice of Saurman himself. Low and behold it was Christopher Lee! Young and handsome. A samll role but he stands out. Did you know he's made over 200 films? Would would have thunk it. And I thought I was just going to enjoy Burt Lancaster swinging around shirtless through alot of the movie.

I'm old friends with the editor of Gothic Beauty - a subculture fashion magazine that you may have noticed on the racks at Hot Topic while shopping for skull&crossbone socks and stuff. I recently proposed doing an article for him on the injection of pirate fashion into the Goth and Vampire subcultures, which he thought a fine idea. So... if you're active in the Goth or Vampire type communities, and you might like to be part of this article, then please email me privately and we can start a dialogue. Just send me a note at capt@bilgemunky.com.

Maureen O'Hara was on Good Morning America today speaking about her autobigraphy "Tis Herself". Here's a chapter from it.: http://abcnews.go.com/sections/GMA/Books/G..._excerpt-1.html Now if anyone belongs in POTC 2 it 's Herself (Hmm she seems to have the same nick name as Bess ) . I'd love to see her in just one more pirate movie! :)

This month's issue of Premiere magazine lists their top 100 film characters of all time. Depp's Jack Sparrow is #87 and the only pirate to make the list!! That is pretty major! Depp is also on there in the 60's for Edward Scissorhands. If anyone is interested, Vito Corleone is #1. Well deserving.

On Sunday, my 1st mate and a couple of sea dogs spent the afternoon aboard The Lady Washingon ( you know who she is ).We had a battle enactment with The Hawaiian Chieftan. If we had live ammo, The Cheiftan whould be with Davey Jones. There wasn't much wind, but it was a glorius day, and a good time was had by all. If you are on the West coast, and have a chance to go aboard The Lady, do not pass it by. The captain and crew were all geat, and very willing to pass on knowledge and stories.
