Arrrrrgh.... Me first post here! We be noticing that no one has mentioned Cantraband Days on this board. Think Madri Gras with nothing but pirates! It happens every year in a little city called Lake Charles, Louisiana and is based around the legend of Jean Lafitte and his nefarious deeds in and around the lake there and the Contraband Bayou. More info can be found at http://www.contrabanddays.com/

I thought that some of you may be interested in this so try and keep the date open. Date Posted: 08:47:47 01/17/04 Sat Author: Elena, in Producer Mode: dina_elena_shanti@yahoo.com Subject: Calling All Pirates Ahoy Rennies! As you have heard, Pastimes is indeed putting on a pirate faire, and as a co-producer I would like to get the ball rolling (or the ship sailing, as it were) and find out who is available to officially be on board. Remember, Sept 19th is International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Right now I am getting a list together of Merchants, Variety Acts, and Conscripted Seamen... er... Volunteers. Merchants and Variety don't have to be *specifically only* pir…

Avast there, mates! For any of ye who might be havin the pleasure of setting yer anchor in California's, Silicon Valley, I'm firing the signal cannon fer yer help. The lovely people of Los Gatos, California (including merchants and the local constables) have constructed an enormous addition to their annual charity haunted house. The addition is a pirate village (nicknamed "Tortuga" fer all ye Johnny Depp fans)...and we be needin' a boatload o' buccaneers ta fill it! We need swashbucklers, drunks, rabble-rousers, and other forms of piratical brethren. We could also be usin' help in manning the other scenes (some are non-piratical...but still fun). Known as The Haunted …

Arrr, so who’ll be with me attending this year’s "Pirate Invasion!" at the Maryland Renaissance Faire? I 'ear it 'ill be happening the weekend of September 20 & 21. http://www.rennfest.com/mrf/index.html A while back, the lot of us on this side of the new world ( sort of north-east u.s. ) be talking about a pirate get together. Capt. Flint came up with the great idea for us all to meet up at this year’s Pirate Invasion event in Maryland, being that Maryland was centrally located to the group of interest relatively speaking. Well, September is right around the corner! So, who be with me? Capt. Flint? Katey O'Tierney? CaptCat? Dorian Lasseter? MadMaryFlint?…

I had a blast. I could fill up the forum with the list of memories that I have from this weekend, it was that good. So many...MANY pirates!!! It was a joy in me wee black heart t' see them all. I came home late, tired, a bit sunburned on my wrist (trust me, that confused me as well), but happy as anything. To those I met, it was a true pleasure. There were some I wish I could have spent more time with, some I caught at the last moment that it would have been nice to talk to more, but I'm already plotting me wee mind for next year. To any there that I didn't meet? Will 'ave t'work this out for another time then won't we? *elaborate bow* I am sure the details of my …

We couldn't post about this raid on a public forum, because we worried that the "victim" might see it ahead of time, as he is an avid fan of piracy. On the afternoon of Sept 14th, 2003, Gary moved The Royaliste into position to allow her pirate crew to raid the a seaside home, known as "The Taj Mahal" for it's elaborate middle east architecture, in Sausalito CA. Saber, Poison Quill and Lucky Penny Hawkings, burst into the Taj firing their flintlocks and chased the lady of the household upstairs!!!! (she was a conspirator in this!) We located our victim, Devon, who was celebrating his 16th birthday in front of the TV, and informed the thoroughly surprised lad that he w…

Aye, and grand it were. Me gun crew and I left New Haven in the rain and drove to Providence, there to board the Sloop Providence for a rousin' afternoon. On arriving, we found most of the other crews had not made it, with the exception of one chap, Frank, from the Speedwell. Most of me crew are new to the sea, so there was time needed to acclimate to the differences of runnin' cannon on a ship, as well as learning to keep the hell out of the way of the deck crew. Soon learned, though, and my brave lads were soon haulin' lines like old hands. The sun came out strong, so down Naragansett Bay we sailed, and made ready to fire a broadside of 2, two gunners to each 4 p…

Tales of the Seven Seas will be working in conjunction with Sail San Francisco, to welcome the tall ship "The Californian" to Oakland CA at Jack London Square on Sept 6th and 7th. We are always happy to have pirates join us! Either individuals or entire guilds. The more the merrier!! Our pirates are scheduled to be on the pier, meeting and greeting visitors, bringing passersby to the ship, providing basic information on the ship, passing out treasure coins to the kids and entertaining crowds with random acts of mayhem and senseless acts of piracy! Piratical acts might include: Being accused of notorious and heinous crimes then locked in our new jail cell! Running…
