arrgghh hrrrmmph well! never seen a rule like that before, an' I've travelled a fair piece to faires, gatherings and re-enactments. Guess I'll be walkin' funny, without that comforting weight on my left hip.

Ah well, back to dealin' with the fallout from Izzy.

See ya Saturday......

Arr quoted from one of Capt. Flint's earlier posts...

We will plan to meet everyone at the blacksmith shop. It is pretty centrally located and is very easy to find. . .we will check in there every hour for the first few hours. After that, we will try to see who shows up at the white heart tavern. If all else fails, find out when the shakespeares skum show . . .

So, after the am cannons go off, everyone meet up at the top of the hour at the Blacksmith Shop. Then sometime around or after lunch wander over to the White Heart Tavern. And If you still haven't met up with any Pyrate board types, at least try hooking up with Flint at the Shakespeares Skum Show.

1) Blacksmith Shop

2) White Heart Tavern

3) Shakespeares Skum Show

I hope to see everyone there exclamationAnim.gif

Aye Ladds n' Lassies!

Again, the fates ha' conspired against me.... I'll not be amongst those that'll make it to the festival... (after spending two weeks away from my desk, on a work trip no less, I have a lot of stuff piled up)

And tha' storm they's callin' Isabelle is gonna hit my port friday, thru saturday....

Funny thing is, I'll be headed to the left coast (on another work trip) on this comin' wednesday, thru th' next monday... And, as all WILL work out.... be seein' th' Royaliste n' Company!

Wishin' I was able ta do both... but, the year ahead is promisin'....

Not sure what happened. Lost track of where everyone was. Didn't get to Capt. Flints afterwards and never got directions before hand. Did get to meet up with Paisley, actually she found me sitting waiting for the last joust. Not sure if Stinky Tudor ever made it there. Last I heard was he was searching for a place to put pets. Didn't get to the Skum show (that was another problem in itself. Ok folks, we need to find another time to get together. Would be nice before the holidays.

Okay, here goes... Mad Woman Cheryl... I am so sorry we missed you at the end. I am glad to have met you. The only thing greater than your personality is your charm. We are very interested in a party on Nov. ! let me know more

Paisly.. we were at the blacksmith shop and the tavern and the skum show. I kept looking for a lass in ALL pink. Based on what you said you were wearing, we were almost standing next to one another at the blacksmith if it was you I remember seeing. I regret not actually meeting you. I do hope you had a good time at fair and I swear we will work out better plans and details for a next meeting.

Cushy Bottoms.... I never saw ye lass. I promise we looked hard for everyone and I can see where the plans were in need of improvement for next time. But, we were at the proper places at the scheduled times. I told all of you to look for fair Katey as her pic is posted here in the gallery. She was wearing the exact same outfit as in her pic. But, alas, the blame is mine and I will definetly work on a better meeting plan.

To Hawkins... You were a joy and a pleasure to meet. One could not have asked for better company and a more social shipmate than you. I cannot wait to share more stories with you and I hope you enjoy the book. Thank you for making the long trek here to fair. I hope you enjoyed yourself.

Mad Woman Cheryl. I wrote a lot to you in the e-mail I sent you and PLEASE call me when convenient so I can talk to you. Again I am so sorry to have missed you in the end you and your family were a real treasure to meet and be with...

Stynky Tudor.. You are an incredible person with a beautiful family. I am so sorry you had all the mishaps you did on this trip. I hope you enjoyed the festival and thank you so much for coming here. You are a good friend and I am glad to have met you. With a wife and children as lovley as yours; it is no wonder why you smile so much. I hope your journey home was smooth and pleasant. Fair Katey and I cannot wait to travel your way soon and see you again. Soft winds my friend and may the seas always be good to you.

To everyone we met. thank you so much for putting the time and effort into making this event. It makes me all the sadder when I realize those who were there and we missed. I vow to you Paisley; we will make you first on our list for next time. I do hope all of you enjoyed yourselves and I hope we can all get together again. Mabye next time one of us will remember to take a few pics... although there is that one pic I have of pirate Molly coming down the slide..... Oh and before I forget... Pirate Molly... You a the finest gem to ever be found in the sea. Stynky is a lucky man. Fair winds to you lass and a smooth sea..... To you all.. the same.... until next time .......... Flint

Guest Pirate Molly

Gadzooks! So me undignified tumble down the Giant Slide was not only witnessed, but recorded fer post-er-o-ty? Och, what can I say but this wench likes her grog, and is no fine friend o' gravity.

'Twas a great pleasure to meet with ye, Capt. Flint. Ye be a strappin', well growed lad, whose brawn is only exceeded by his generous hospitality. Methinks Stynky and all the sea scum from our parts would agree.

I much enjoyed meetin' Katey and admirin' her cunning handiwork. Hope she was no too tired when she had to report for duty at sunrise. Glad also to meet yer wee sea sprite. I can see she has the firey spirit o' both her ma and her sire. Good to meet Katey's ma, George, and Hawkens as well.

As I told Stynky as we wended our way homewards, if I were in pirate battle, I would want to fight on Flint and Katey's sides--ne'er would I wish to share the fate o' those cursed wretches who crossed the likes o' them.

As for the Fair, 'twas a wondrous sight, a marvel to the eye, ear and tastebuds. We shall surely return again to enjoy its delights.

Except fer not meeting as many people from the board as I had hoped, our wee boarding party of six made it ashore to Maryland safely and had a fantastic time at Pirate Invasion! Though Capt. Flint assured me that because of ‘Urricane Izzy, that only about half the usual turn out had shown up this time around, there were pirate rogues and wenches as far as the spyglass could see in all directions, more than enough to start a full scale campaign.

And arr I must commend Capt. Flint & Katey O'Tierney on their huge selfless effort trying to organize all of us pirate weirdo, I mean pirate enthusiast types to meet up. It was a hard job that was made difficult by people like meself that wouldn’t stay put in one place long enough or show up at agreed times or places… Now that I be knowing where everything is, I promise to be on time next year.

The evening spent aboard Katey & Flint’s vessel was pure delight. Lots of food and drink, drink and food, sword fighting and then more of the same.

Both Flint and Hawkyns spared on deck with all manner of weapons as the wee children picked oakum at their feet. After one of the men received a rather nasty gash, (I’ve been sworn to secrecy, under penalty of death, never to reveal the name of the one who be wounded that night) George put an end to it, discharged ‘er firearm and called fer dinner. All manner of feast had been prepared, breads and puddings, meats and desserts, hard drink and soft beverage, it twas glorious, the “loaf of meat” were me favorite.

Then after the feast we danced and sang pirate songs way into the night and on intol the early morning hours. As things got a little blurry for me, I remember Fair Katey at some point leading everyone in some sort of ancient mystical ritual jig that seemed to bend or warp time about the ship, rather hard to explain really. It was all very odd and by the time I knew what be happening, me boarding party and I were being lowered by long boat, asked to leave and being escorted back to shore.

Pirate Molly blamed me right away for acepting the hospitality offered that I accepted of chocolate ice cream ( me favorite) and on account that I be lactose intolerant...and well that made us unwelcome.

I be telling Molly that it be 'er fault, she was throwing pieces of Flint & Katey’s furniture over the side and yelling, “Man Over Board!” When everyone would run to the side to investigate the heard splash, she would run to the table and finish the drinks that be sitting around. Ya know, just fer fun.

(sigh) A Pyrate's life fer me . . .

Though darling Kate I can't recall the color of your beauteous eyes, both you and Capt. Flint be marvelously fine hosts! Thanks again for all of your hard work, hospitality and effort to get all of us from the Pyracy Pub together, even with Izzy getting in the way. It was a pleasure making your acquaintance and putting a real face to the internet personas.

I'll raise a few flagons in agreement wi that! As fine a time as I've had in a long time. Good friends, good food, good drink and a damn fine time. Great to meet you all, and not to be the last! Cap'n Flint and Katey- me best thanks for your hospitality. I'll return the favour if'n ye sail north to the New England shores.

Until next we rendezvous....

Mad Woman Cheryl & Lady Paisley,

I'm so upset that I missed seeing the two of you and yer shipmates exclamationAnim.gif

After not being able leave or sneak or wee pups into the Best Western, like we 'ave so many times before. We were able to lodge them just down the road from the event, that is once we found it.

Say was there anyone else from Pyracy Pub that stayed at the Capital Beltway Best Western in Lanham for the event? Just before we left, a look down into the parking lot we spotted some fellow pirates loading up and sailing away. Just wondering if they be one of us.?.

I've got to get back to Capt. Flint and try to set up a get together. Just 'ave to check t' calendar. There is so much happening in the month of October. My son's birthday is Oct. 5 (he will be 4), we are still decorating the house for Halloween (yes, it is early but it looks great!), and a couple 'o other events that we may/maynot be involved in. I am hoping to hook up with Capt. Flint and Katie around Oct. 25th or so (our anniversary is Oct. 21.) When we do get together, we will probably see to planning out other things for everyone to share in

I will be glad when all o' the 'olidays is over.....

Arr and Cushy Bottoms,

I can't believe that you actually made it to the faire and then not be seen by any of us! I know that I thought that we would find each other once we made it ta shore, didn’t figure how long it take fer us to row in without a proper navigator or just how large the gathering would be.

Thanks to Capt. Flint's eagle eye, he spotted Pirate Molly's hat and recognized one of our shipmates from a far.

I was so fried from the drive, the hurricane, and being back home that I couldn't think straight. And like someone else said, finding a particular Pyrate there was like trying to spot the black Harley at bike week :) Once or twice I saw a likely looking group, but chickened out before saying anything. I was having a bad time with inconsiderate a-holes anyway and didn't chance it.

At any rate, here's what I was wearing, day one. Day two was the same, sans chemise :)

Saturday
