Please update the ole Capt. if you have any current news ......
  10. Just read in the paper here, that the sequel to Peter Pan is getting under way and that the writer has been chosen. Apparently there was a story contest of sorts to see who or even if anyone could be found to write the show. Alas, a person was found and she along with the production company have started on the story for the movie. Has anyone else heard anything about this....... The Capt.
  11. Thanks for the info on the book Captured.... I'll be keeping an eye out for it . It sounds interesting.....
  12. BlackJohn.. never let it be said, that you are not a twisted individual... but then, thats what we love about you... As I have said before about aging any leather, wear it, use it and let time take its course. Keep it oiled and clean and nature will do the rest. If you choose to intentionally distress the leather, it will look that way. If you simply wear it and keep it clean, you will be amazed at how it will become soft and flexible. The look will be beautiful, while getting that broken in look. I have done a lot of work with leather and have seen it ruined by those who can't wait for it to age naturally. Trust me on this, let time and use take care of the look. It is important to treat leather well and it will last you a long long time.
  13. Well it seems to me there are two questions here.. What do you like.... and whats the first thing you notice.. I do not see how anyone can notice anything other than physical stuff on first sight... So as far as first notice... Alive breathing and is female breast rear... hips and legs As far as what i like Alive... breathing... and female.... Although with Fare Katey by my side, I get a whole lot more also ( great rear.. large br..... oops.. just realized she is standing over me and is seeing this. ) oh well.. it's off to the docks for a while..............
  14. For pirate re-enacting, I usually wear a pair of pants that have a little room in them. They feel good with the outfit and look good with the outfit. I only wear my fitted pants with my other ren. gear. It's a personal preference for me, but, when I look at a lot of pictures and historical clothing, I can usually find both types of pants for the time period. Although the looser ones I see much more for the time frame that i dress for.....
  15. Okay... I watched it... It was fun. It was hokey, but, what do you expect from 50's tv... Especially for a buck.. like I said , it was fun.. The Capt.
  16. Okay.. first step. everyone cool off. A topic has gone from informative to a personal debate to an outright argument with a lot of insults on everyones part. As stated before in other forums, this site is a place to share information, ideas and a general information about a thing that we all enjoy. POTC has taken on a life of its own on this site. It seems to dominate a great many forums with personal feelings getting in the way of everyone having a right to thier own opinions. POTC is just a movie, no matter how strong a person may feel about it. Anyone connected to the movie in any way may share whatever info. they desire to share with the members here If there is a personal problem between anyone on this site with POTC, then keep it personal and not on this site. That is to say, not in a forum where I am one of the moderators. Dog and Bess, I truly do not know what honest connection either of you have with this film, other than what each of you claim. If there is a personal problem between you two on this, than you need to take it up with someone higher up and not let it degenerate into an argument here. That applies to both, even if one of you wish to claim that they are not argueing and are staying calm and respectful. As one of the moderators here, I am telling everyone posting here... change your tone. You may have your opinions and share them freely, but, there will be a respect on all sides of any discussion in this topic forum.... Personal disagreements are perfectly acceptable. Not threats, insults and downright open hostility to anyone posting... Lets play nice now..
  17. I loved Cutthroat Island... I know it's a bit hokey, but I loved it. It was fun.. had great fight seens.... lots of treasure... great fight seens.... cool looking ships.. did I mention great fight seens... Anyhow, I thought it was a fun flick.
  18. I found a dvd at WalMart the other day called .... Long John Silver... with Robert Newton.. it has three episodes. .. The Necklace..... Miss Purty's Birthday and Sword of Vengeance..... It's from 1955. This is one I never heard of and don't remember seeing on any classic tv. It was all of one dollar, so I'll have to watch it real soon. If anyone is interested in this, just check out your local WalMart. If they don;t have it, give me a yell and I'll be happy to get you a copy.... The Capt.
  19. Thats so cool. I can't wait to look it up. Has anyone ever heard of anything else like this. Would love to hear about it.
  20. What on Gods green earth are you all talking about...This started as a post about Blackbeards real name.. If anyone has info. on his early life, thats documented, PLEASE share it. I for one would be very interested in it. Where did the name Teague ever come from. I never heard it before. Is there any reading on it. Thanks... The Capt.
  21. The pieces look very cool. If you really want a piece of a movie, than go for it. Me..... couldn.t fit it on my best day, and for me , not worth the price....But, it does make a great pattern to use to make other pieces.
  22. Enigma.... I don't think you have to worry about the price going up very much. It's open bid is 49$ and you could buy it outright for only three bucks more...... Personally, I think thats a steep enough price as it is..
  23. Mr. Scabbs... Yeah, I've seen this movie several times. We've talked about it here on the board a long while ago. Different folks have different opinions. I was never much of a fan of this flick. Some people thought it was a fun movie. It actually is fun for me when we have a lot of people over to watch it together and make fun of it. But, thats just me. If you want to see another movie thats pretty bad, but can be fun to watch anyway, see...... Captain Kidd... staring Charles Laughton.. I hoped I spelled that right. I found this one at a nearby store for 2dollars. Watch it and you'll know why.... have fun... The Capt.
  24. I'll have to re-read the passage that mentions this again. It is not being refered to in the way that you are describing it. I have read about what you are talking about. A common way of paying for things back then was to shave off enough of the gold or silver to pay for the item. Never heard of anyone shaving a coin in order to make more money... After I re-read the passage again, I'll re-post the question with better clarity.
  25. Ninjas attack..... Pirates fire with cannon filled with grape shot... Ninjas die.... sounds simple to me.. I cannot believe I answered this post.. arrgggghhhhh
