It's taken me a while, but I be only in port occassionally, so it ain't bein' easy fer me t' log on to Davy Jones' locker (If ye follow me drift). Well, there is an event taking place in New Zealand worthy of any pirates attention! A hearty band of scalliwags has been putting on the scurviest outdoor reggae and pirate festival for a few years now, in the ports of Wellington, New Zealand, at the peak of the kiwi summer (february), callin' themselves Whopper Chopper, they organise a hoard of great, free, outdoor festivals on the charming beaches of Wellington. And this year it is touring the whole country, with o…

I wanted to tell you MadWomanCheryl...... you and Bill throw one heck of a bash. The food was excellent, the decorations supreme, but, nothing compared to the fellowship that went on there. Katey and I wanted to say thanks for having us there, it was fantastic..... Also.. my little Maggie canot get enough of playing with her treasure. Her younger cousin came over the other day, and it was the first thing Maggie got out for them to play with. She put all of it in the small chest I had with me and she now calls it her own...... typical woman.......... For everything..thanks.. for putting a smile on my daughters face, and keeping it there.... thanks again and so much more..…

Wow.... what an amazing weekend this has been! This was truly one for the history books, as we quite unexpectedly got a real-world dose of what Drake and his crew experienced when they sailed the same waters! Royaliste, Saber, myself and a newly joined member of our pirate guild set out early on Saturday morning and sailed 25 miles north along the coastline to Drake's Bay. Drake's Bay is so named because it is believed to be the spot where Francis Drake and his crew stopped to do the careening (bottom cleaning, scraping tarring etc) of their ships. The trip up took us about 4 hours. We went as most vessels do for safety on the open ocean, a combination of sails and motor…

Any of ye pyrates goin' to make it to the San Juan Capistrano pirate festival? Doesn't sound like a festival, really, but they be invitin' people to dress up, and have a re-enactment of the pirate raid on the mission there! Invitin' people to dress up is basically invitin' me for sure. Sounds excitin' enough fer a pyrate, and I intend on goin'. Am I goin' to see any of ye there? EDIT: It's on October 25th, by the way, from 12-5pm. Here be the link. Captain Wolfy Wench

Sausalito Ca., home to over seven thousand sailors, including the Royaliste and Hawaiian Chieftain, is in desparate need of a fireboat. As folks on Lake Union in Washington can attest, there's nothing pretty about marina fires. They are hard to fight, so most time things just plain burn up. A local Powerboat and Trawler broker, also a poster here, is having a huge boat show October 18 and 19, with the gate admission going 100% to the fireboat fund, and a percentage of the sales from that weekend. As a goodwill gesture, the Royaliste will be at anchor out in the bay in front of the show, with Tales of the Seven Seas, being generally piratical for the public and raising fun…

Saturday, October 11th, from 9-12, at the Highliner Pub and Grill (Fisherman's Terminal), we'll be having a benefit for the Wawona. She was built in 1897, the first ship to ever be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Despite that, she still faces eviction from her berth if we can't raise the money to do some serious restoration. There's no cover charge, but we'll be passin' the pitcher all night and havin' an auction t' boot. Tom Lewis, famed British shantyman, has kindly donated a complete set of his CDs, including the as-yet unreleased one, tto be auctioned off. The Pirates of the Coast, famed, talented plunderers of the Seven Seas, will be auctioned as …

Ahoy bay area pirates- I just got word that a local hospital needs pirates for an awards banquet this coming Saturday evening in Hayward. The theme is "Treasure Island" and they'd like us to greet guests at the door, pose for photos with guests, mingle, do ad-lib interaction with the guests and for my parrot to be in attendance. They'd like 4 to 5 pirates if possible. I know this is horribly short notice, but are any pirates out there available? Please let me know ASAP if you'd be able to come by emailing me at talesofthesevenseas@hotmail.com WHERE: 527200 Calaroga Ave Hayward, CA 94545. I'll send directions to participants. WHEN: October 11th, 5:30pm (thats this …

This year, Ohio Rennaisance has deceded to NOT have a Pirate Weekend. I protest, and say that we should invade anyway on closing weekend. Anyone? Bueller? (Not that I expect anyone to be anywhere NEAR Ohio, but it's worth a go, eh?)

One of the groups that Tales of the Seven Seas partners with are the Pirates of Emerson. They run a high-tech pirate theme haunted house in Fremont CA. (between San Francisco and San Jose) This haunt is rated as one of the 13 best in the country. It features such delights as a spinning vortex tunnel, a water-filled lagoon with live fish, fog filled rooms, a ship that rocks and creaks as you walk though it, animatronic skeletons, an strobe light "electric" fence maze, water-filled windows that bubble and best of all, live pirates that jump out and terrify guests!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! The Pirates of Emerson are taking sign-ups now. They provide costuming- you probably …
