You will have to excuse me, Mission, as i really have been out of the TV loop for about 9 years (see earlier post). But I can't help but wonder, what shows have been on TV since 2000 that you think are good? No really, this is not meant as a slam or nuthin', but I am curious what you like. Personally, Medical shows bore me, I never was (or will be) a Trekkie as i never really "got" star trek nor cared about any of its iterations. Cop shows are the same thing over and over (to me) and Reality TV is a show about people that I could care less about (so, I care less)..... 24 was interesting. It was a roller coaster ride, but season one was enough and I never looked back…

Many of you may not know it, but I've been teaching myself to play guitar. I have sung just about my whole life, but wasn't able to play guitar until I got my hearing aids. Now, I can hear the lower notes. What a difference in my world. I have posted this video to youtube as a Happy Valentine's Day card to friends and family AND also as a celebratory song for my 1 year of playing guitar (2/09/2009). So if you are brave Pirates, have a listen. Have your earplugs ready................................. The torture begins with a click Honestly, I hope you enjoy it. Deanna

I don't know if someone has posted this already, if they have please delete my post. I don't know if some of you already knew about this from going to Comic Con. It seems they had a panel there with some of the folks that are producing it or acting in it (saw some clips on youtube). Anyway I was checking Acuweather.com for the CA weather for our 5 day rainstorms and there was an ad on the side about this new show. Well I went to the Stars website specifically for this new show..and they had Episode 1 posted...I watched it and WOW IT IS FANTASTIC. Done in the style of The 300, but much much better, and I liked The 300 and own the DVD. I cannot wait for episode 2. …

Yup... ye read that right. Another Midwestern earthquake. And so close to many members of the Archangel, too! (Damnit, what ye bloody devils doin'?) Apparently a 3.8 (was initially thought to be a 4.3) magnitude earthquake from the vicinity of DeKalb, Illinois was felt rather strongly in Chicago! Shocking, eh? Happened around 4am, this morning. So any of ye around the northern Illinois area (possibly eastern Iowa, southern Wisconsin, Western Michigan, Northwest Indiana...) and ye felt a little shaking around 4 this morning... THAT was the earthquake. Cool, huh? I'm a bit bummed... 'cause dammit! I missed another Earthquake! ~Lady B

I was sitting there, poring over yet another copy of an archaic 350 year old surgical journal trying to comprehend just what the writer was saying, seeing, feeling and thinking when it struck me that some day, 350 years from now, some person may be sitting there (whereever there may be) poring over yet another copy of an archaic 350 year old forum post, trying to comprehend just what the writer was saying, seeing, feeling and thinking. You know? "...we are simply passing through history. This, this is history." -René Belloq

Okay, for 2010 I'm debating whether to start my own blog site. I know several of you have them, so I was interested in knowing what made you decide to start one, and what sort of satisfaction do you get from posting on it? Do you do it for your own personal enjoyment, or like Mission, to also pass on knowledge and information? I guess the bottom line question is, do you think it is worth the time and effort to set it up and keep it current? Also, since I am not a whiz at the old computer, are they hard to set up? I'd appreciate any input/thoughts you'd all care to share.

Hey everyone! I've been off for a while. The "period" reason is that I was in hiding from a botched raid. That's now blown over . . . Real reason: Got logged off and couldn't figure out how to get back on (Username and password confusion). Then, I got busy with family, car mods, and a new job. I recovered the headliner in Wallace tartan, chosen for a number of reasons. Plus, the red, black, and yellow works REAL well w/ pirate flags and so forth (black is most common now, but they also used red and -as Foxe points out- once used mostly yellow). I'm going to make a Wallace tartan "Jolly Roger" for car shows and events. Here is my car: I'm redoing these sea…

These shots were taken on the battlefield in Gettysburg on Halloween. No rain, dust , or wind anomalies. The first set were taken in the 'Slaughter Pen' between Devil's Den and Little Round Top: The second set were taken just to the right of the Slaughter Pen towards Warren Ave, between Little and Big Round Top. Camera worked fine all evening, but took this negative image and then right after took a 'normal' pic: These were taken in the Wheatfield just above Devil's Den. My wife felt a touch to her shoulder as she was snapping these photos. North of town, we visited Barlow's Knoll where a cavalry charge occurred early on July 1st. Just below the Barlo…

Brain: "Behold, I can create fire from a little box." Cannibals: "So what?" "Big deal." "Let's eat 'em." Brain: "I can steal your souls and put them in this glass." Cannibals: "So what?" "Big deal." "Let's eat 'em." Pinky: "I can make bubbles with my spit." [the cannibals gasp and begin to bow] Brain: "Now do you believe we were sent by your god?" Alan the Cannibal Leader: "Naw, that's just really cool." I occasionally bring up this decorating magazine domino that I signed up for for free on Amazon.com because they usually have approximately one interesting thing a month in there (IMO). This month, they had a picture of a chandelier that's just really cool. Of cou…

Ok my partner and I are working on getting our stuff on a website. We are temporarily housed on Maxpages and since we are currently free they have tons of ads. Eventually we will buy our domain name and such..but can anyone give pointers as to a good place to host and so forth as Im completely clueless. And of course someplace that has really good templates until I can actually afford to have a more professional one done.

Given our common interest in past events in the Caribbean, I want to encourage all of us to do whatever they can to help with disaster relief for the Haitian earthquake. This may be more devastating that the famous Port Royal earthquake of 1692! They're saying that there may be as many as half a million dead, in a country that was already the poorest in the Western Hemisphere. Please consider a donation to the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army or other relief organization that you feel could help!

OK, so I did it. I went and wrapped up my bum knee, donned my primitives, took my flinter to the woods to hobble around and see if any stupid deer would allow me a shot. Muzzleloader season opened Saturday. I stumbled through a small section of woods on the ranch, spooked a couple of smart deer who ran away letting every other critter within range know I was there.(hard to sneak with yer knee all trussed-up). Watched some squirrels at play, found fresh tracks of a very big bobcat, life was good. Yeah the knee hurt, but what the heck, I'm enjoying myself. So, it's time to head back to meet the kids when they get off the bus, I head out, and just as I am about to clea…

Eye were on vacation last week and went to Virginia City after gambling away me fortunes in Reno. I heard of haunted stories about the old Washoe Club and decided to investigate it a bit. The club is two stories. The Bottom is a saloon still in use. Any way I tried to go upstairs but the stair way was too shaky to do so and when I asked the tender he said I was not allowed upstairs as it was shut up except for appointments by Paranormal investigators. So a bit later I took pictures of the upstairs windows from the street behind the building and OMG! I had no idea of the image eye got until we got back to the hotel in Reno. Look at the center window of the last picture.…

Interesting e-mail running around the net as to what freezing the balls off a brass monkey really means. Anybody have any info to back this up or dash it? -Greydog XXXXXXXXXXXXXX CANNON BALLS!!! DID YOU KNOW THIS? It was necessary to keep a good supply of cannon balls near the cannon on old war ships. But how to prevent them from rolling about the deck was the problem. The storage method devised was to stack them as a square based pyramid, with one ball on top, resting on four, resting on nine, which rested on sixteen. Thus, a supply of 30 cannon balls could be stacked in small area right next to the cannon. There was only one problem -- how to prevent the bottom l…

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34722032/ns/world_news-world_environment Article: SYDNEY - A conservation group's boat had its bow sheared off and was taking on water Wednesday after it collided with a Japanese whaling ship in the frigid waters of Antarctica, the group said. The boat's six crew members were safely transferred to another of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's vessels, the newly commissioned Bob Barker. The boat is named for the American game show host who donated $5 million to buy it. The clash was the most serious in the past several years, during which the Sea Shepherd has sent vessels into far-southern waters to try to harass the Japanese fleet in…
