Any and all o'ye who have never come up to NY State in the summer need to make it up to Alexandria Bay next August for Pirate Days. I mean the make of the town alone SCREAMS Pirate Fest. It was super this year. They trained the kiddies in British Army tactics, thanks to the fine infantrymen visiting from just across the water in Brockville, Ont. The parades were great as was the INVASION. This year they used the Faire Jeanne to fire upon the Lotus, and a fine ship it was. The Lotus gave a good fight too. Was sad to hear that the mighty Royaliste was invited but couldn't make it over in time. Will be hoping they might come next year, as well as any o'ye from this h…

Our crewe just returned from a trek to North Carolina for a pirate festival. On the way back, we stopped over at the Queen Anne's Revenge restaurant in Charleston. If you're traveling anywhere in the area - don't miss this place. There are plenty of artifacts to see, including an impressive scale model of the ship itself. The weapons on display were impressive, as were the loaned works of Pyle dotting the walls and the bar. Plus, the food was outstanding. We could have stayed there all day if the schedule had allowed. Link to their website. http://www.qarevenge.com/ Check the tour link out. It's pretty good. We have some photos of our visit too. Go past the ones of…

this could be intersting for pirates from Germany or foreign pirates who are spending their holidays in Germany at the moment. There is a pirate openair in Grevesmühlen (Northern-Germany) which seems to be similar to the Störtebeker-Festspiele. More informations at: www.piratenopenair.de (I'm sory but this page and event is only in German but perhaps you would like it anyhow)

For anyone within driving distance to Bald Head Island, NC (about three hours north of Charleston), the island is hosting its first annual Pirate Event. Cascabel and Izzy, The Pyrates of the Coast and Captain Sinbad and the Devil Men of Cape Fear are the entertinment. The event begins with a gala auction on Friday night (Aug. 4) and wraps up on Saturday with performances, historical presentations, a thieve's market, and a showing of a pirate movie on the lighthouse. The cost is just the ferry ride over to the island. All proceeds benefit the upkeep of the historic lighthouse on the island. -- Hurricane

Here is a list of all of the themed weekends. 26 Year Love A-Faire (Aug. 12-13). Join the Shirefolk as we swing wide the Castle Gates to our glorious 26th season. Love & Romance (Aug. 19-20). Hi all, After an enforced sabbatical last year due to an inability to insure the event, the World Walking the Plank Championships is back for it's 10 year annivesary. The event is being held on the 13th August at Queenborough Creek on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, England, UK. Details of the event will be posted on http://www.captaincutlass.com - this site is currently being rebuilt so bare with us - and http://www.sheppeypirates.org. It's a real fun event where a bunch of absolute lunatics get all dressed up and then get thrown off a plank into Queenborough Creek by the Sheppey Pirates. Come along if you can but get there early as it's normally 20 deep on the Quaysi…

Greetings! We had an SCA demo this last weekend, and the Iron Lotus was invited to come out and put on a cannon-firing display... we ended up firing off the cannon all day, and the "Pirate Cove" was very popular with the crowd. Here be a link to some pictures: Demo Pictures Hopefully, successful demos such as this one will open the door for more acceptance of Black Powder-related activities within the local SCA groups here in Ansteorra. I also hope to fuel the acceptance of Pirate personnae here as well. Our crew's demo's to date have been very educational and we try to make sure that most of our activities and the stuff in our camp is heavily documented to prevent com…
