Ok... this is an edited update on the Nina. Got the newspaper and read up on it. The Nina replica vessel will be at Onieda Landing in Davenport, Iowa until September 17. So... rush to Davenport to check out this small vessel. My dad's seen it in Little Rock a few years ago and even he says it's more than worth it! ~Lady B

A tourist couple, who will be visiting St. Augustine on the 14th of September to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary, have asked me to conduct a pirate wedding where they will be rededicating them selves to each other in the finest pirate traditions. They will then take the two hour sunset cruise on the Tall Ship Freedom and we decided to help them enjoy their wedding by joining them and see what we can pillage on the waters of Matanzas Bay. We are not planning on diner or any other activities at this time but are open to suggestions. Pirate Wedding/Cruise Flyer If you have any questions or have an interest drop me a line. Listen up all participants of this event. According to Gold Coast Productions who put on this event it will be TWO WEEKENDS in Sept. of 2007 Gold Coast Productions I think this may be Dick Wixon's way of trying to cull out groups who 'don't do anything' . Unfortunately, it may also bring the hatchet down on the good groups. Many come from well out of the area and some even out of state...I know I don't think I can pull a two weekender out from the distance I live...it's a solid 4 hour drive for me, and I know those coming from the San Francisco area and beyond drive hours longer. It will remain to be seen what becomes of this situation....

I subscribe to the local (Illinois/Wisconsin border) Renaissance Faire e-newsletter, and just received this anouncement concerning planned events: "The summer of 2006 is not to be missed as the Bristol Renaissance Faire celebrates its 19th season in high seas fashion with all things nautical. Sea dogs and pirate wenches make ready as the Dreadnought, a 100-foot, triple masted privateering ship, sails for Bristol's port. Landlubbers and seafarers alike, now is the time to set your inner pirate free." Good enough for me! You can get details, maps, etc., etc. here.
