Greetings, there is an informal invasion planned April 30 or May 1 in Chicago Ill, either Friday or Saturday (Friday is the prefered night so far) If you are around that area then, join us for some drinks and songs at the Kerry Piper in Downers Grove! Last time we had a blast, with Irish pipers and singers and lots of ale. Please email me or PM me about it ASAP so we can plan it better. There is a chance that if there is not enough interest, we may cancel it. So don't plan on just showing up! BTW, this is a going away pirate party for Capt. Morgan, since he is shoving off June 1 for a long sea cruise to Iraq. Merrydeath

Well it's the spring Ojai Renaissance Faire this weekend, April 24-25. Weather should be absolutely perfect, PRP will be there. I'm planning on bringing my parrot, Gilligan. Perhaps some of you should make it out there. Would love to meet some more of my fellow pirates from these boards. (I won't be at the fall one, as I will be out of the country at the time) Rumba Rue **Smile and make people wonder what you're up to**

Join us for a celebration to the memory of one of the most legendary rogues in piratical history- the Infamous Blackbeard!! Saturday April 17th 2004, We'll sail aboard the Royaliste to a historic lighthouse which has it's roots in a pacific pirate legend. The original owner of the lighthouse was a rogue, who was a disappointment to his parents and was sent off to make a name for himself. Upon his arrival on the shores of America, he stated his profession as a "writer". The clerk thought he said "fighter" and sent him to Oakland where there was a small, but notorious haven of pirates. The writer turned fighter struck an accord with the pirates, sent them off in a ship a…

The Wawona was launched in 1897, and at the time was the largest 3 masted schooner built in N. America. Now she's the last survivor of the once immense Pacific Northwest commercial sailing fleet. She's done everything from haul lumber to carrying salt cod, with a stint as a military barge in WWII. Now the "Powers That Be" have decreed that since she's in need of restoration work, and therefore rather down at the heels, she's not pretty enough to be on Lake Union and must move. Without a berth and workshop, we will lose an incredibly important piece of our maritime heritage. So, we're havin' another benefit to raise money and public awareness to repair this grand old lady …

As ye scurvy dogs are well aware (be it by seeing or because ye stepped on my pins in the pub..OW!), Penny's got a sewin' kick in her, particularly in the realms of costuming. Anyway, yours truly has been convinced by a friend to go to CostumeCon 22 in Atlanta in a little less than a month. Now...I KNOW that there has to be some pirates about in that end of the water. May'aps some of ye are even going to be ATTENDING this fine event. I couldn'a say for sure. I say if this be the case, then there needs to be a gatherin' in the bar or somethin'. Perhaps a good proper gang of scallywags needs to gather together and haunt the halls...because this convention NEEDS pirates…

The Escondido Ren-faire is the first weekend of April, 3-4. It's a great faire, lots of trees, wonderful area, and of course PRP will be there with our encampment. Though it's not a pirate faire, this particular faire is growing larger and larger all the time as word spreads about the great location. Besides, I love having such an event virtually in my own 'backyard' - I'm seven minutes away! Yippeeee, no camping required for me! If those of you living here in S. Calif. get a chance to attend this event, do it! Even though it's only one weekend, it's definately worth coming for. Hoping to meet some more of you great people! Rumba Rue **Life is what you make it, so…

Anyone whose going to the Escondido faire know if there's any coupons available? I thought there was on their website, but I was wrong. Only Palm Springs and Corona had that. Was wondering if perhaps places like Vons, Albertson's or just stuff like that would. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our "Pirate Scairy Tales" is a brand new show at the GA RenFest this year. It's a kids interactive show (but just as fun for adults). It's a tale of pirates, mermaid princesses, treasure, swordplay, and battles on the high seas and the audience will get wet during our sea battle. If you have a chance and are in the Atlanta area, pull into our port for a day or two. The GA RenFest runs the next 6 weekends (thru June 8th), plus Memorial Day. The website is www.garenfest.com About the crew: we are actors at the GA RenFest and have been a pirate band for the last 3 seasons. Our band of pirates "The Pirates of The Gaping Wound" are as follows: Cap'n Cassanova Carnage Blac…
