Anybody going to be there...? Don't know for sure yet if I'll make opening day, but will be going for certain (or as certain as I can be these days) on Sunday, the 9th - possibly opening day as well, but that's even less certain than Sunday.

You might remember that the pirates of Tales of the Seven Seas granted the wish of a 13 year old boy who wished to be a pirate and act on film, through the Make a Wish Foundation. The first part of the wish was granted and he had an awesome pirate adventure aboard the Royaliste on the San Francisco Bay. It was all captured on film and edited into a high-tech 30 minute swashbuckling adventure! On April 16th, we will be presenting the DVD to our wish kid and his family for the first time. The premiere will take place in Ontario CA at 6:00pm. WE WELCOME ALL PIRATES WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND!! Please email me for more details at talesofthesevenseas@hotmail.com -Claire a…

To those on land and all the ships at sea... Once again, with much anticipation for those of us familiar to the merriment and times to be had, April 9th begins the festivities of Scarborough Faire in Waxahatchie, Texas!! (Approximatly 45 minutes South of the Dallas, Tx area.) It is with great joy and warm welcome that Flintlock Jack and I look forward to meeting any of the local Brethren and/ or not so local. This is a wonderful and friendly festival to attend and although not as large as TRF, we actually enjoy it more in some ways. So, if you are going to be in the area, Jack and I will see you there and raise a tankard or two to pyracy and honor the tradition of it. …

The entire crewe of The Pyrates is in town for a corporate gig we're doing April 14 (an original pirate play, no less, with three acts and huge sets - the pirate ship set along is 35' x 20'. We'll be celebrating the debut of the play the next day at the infamous Emerald Hen in Sanford. Come on come all and drink, sing and cavort the night away. Wear a costume if you dare - you won't be alone... Use Mapquest to find your way to this wonderful Irish pub. Or just follow yer nose to the fine brews they serve there. -- Hurricane

Play on the Pirate team to score some serious booty Saturday night! BarFly Magazine is looking for 5 high-spirited Pirates to take on a merciless crew of Klingons in Dysfunctional Family Feud, at Dante's on Saturday night. Dysfunctional Family Feud is a live gameshow in the tradition of the t.v. favorite, but with BarFly's twist: contestants answer survey questions, based on BarFly research, locally conducted in the taverns and lounges of PDX. The result is a lively game that’s fun to play and hilarious to watch, too, as 'straight answers' randomly alternate with more creative responses from the inebriated public! We are looking to put together a last minute crew …

Well the Raleigh Ren Faire is in its tenth season now, and again, it was really depressing. Don't get me wrong, I love all the actors that keep coming out year after year to show support, but let's face it, the faire is in serious trouble. After ten years, you would think a faire would gross more than $250 in gate fees over three days. So what's the answer? Simple, we steal it!!!!!!!!! I have begun working on all the paperwork and am awaiting non profit status for the historical group helping to sponsor this event, but I can promise you this, within the next two years, we will have a pirate festival in Raleigh NC, and it will be one hell of a party. Any vendors, act…

I just received an advertisement for a pirate musical at the Stand Theater, in Lakewood, NJ on April 1&2 and 8&9. From the advertisement, it seems geared for younger audiences. It's called 'Twin Treasures: in Search of the Pirate Coin'. This production is supposed to visit 6 cities, but not sure if they are all in Jersey, or elsewhere, and I have absolutely NO idea if this is a decent play, or not..not even sure IF it's a play.... For aditional information, go to http://www.twintreasures.net or http://www.strandlakewood.com . das

For those of you who do the early side of things, late 16th early 17th C, there is a School of the Musketeer being held in Philadelphia, April 29 to May 1. http://home.att.net/~trmarr/ This is sponsored by a couple of groups that are very active in the 17th C re-enactment community and is a combined education and recruiting event. It will be hands on with powder but no ball. There will also be sword, pike and cannon classes, and a 17th century civilian track for those not so interested in the military arts. Contact the organiser or ask me if you have questions. It has been quite successful in past years and will be again. Come on down! Hawkyns
