Play on the Pirate team to score some serious booty Saturday night! BarFly Magazine is looking for 5 high-spirited Pirates to take on a merciless crew of Klingons in Dysfunctional Family Feud, at Dante's on Saturday night. Dysfunctional Family Feud is a live gameshow in the tradition of the t.v. favorite, but with BarFly's twist: contestants answer survey questions, based on BarFly research, locally conducted in the taverns and lounges of PDX. The result is a lively game that’s fun to play and hilarious to watch, too, as 'straight answers' randomly alternate with more creative responses from the inebriated public! We are looking to put together a last minute crew of FIVE PIRATES, due to a grievous "total screw-up" on the part of yours truly, BarFly's proud publisher and co-host of the Feud. Contestants don’t need any special trivia knowlege or know-how to play the Feud - it's all about guessing what the most popular answers are to questions like, "Name something you eat when you’re hungover". It’s not neuroscience, folks, just plain fun. Contestants will need to represent in true Pirate form, and proper pirate attire will be required! Win or lose, all contestants will receive fabulous PRIZES, like tickets to shows, gift certificates, and good-quality swag of all sorts, plus contestants get free drinks, beer and pizza! Additionally, all contestants' guests will be admitted free of charge to Dante's for the evening. This is Dysfunctional Family Feud’s sixth anniversary show! Over the years, BarFly has been pleased to present exciting contests of all sorts - Democrats vs. Republicans, Bachelors vs. Bachelorettes, Bears vs. Drag Queens, Metrosexuals vs. He-Men, Christians vs. Jews (our annual holiday spectacular!), to name a few. The Pirates vs. Klingons Feud will be the opening act for the EXTRATERRESTRIAL EXTRAVAGANZA, Ground Zero Radio's 10th Anniversary Party! Headlining the bill is killer music from Georgia's own Wayne Gacy Trio (actually an 8-piece band lead by former Jesus Presley frontman, Tony Hughes), plus Portland's popular Ramones tribute band, The Romaines, and the unique sounds of Klingon Karaoke (you haven't heard 'Stairway to Heaven' until you've heard it done in Klingon!). Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest, and there will be prizes for best outfits, giveaways, trivia competitions, games and plenty of paranormal prizes at stake. Doors are at 8PM, and there’s an $8 dollar for the general public. There will be special drink deals on New Deal Distillery's Portland 88 Vodka, all night long, too! The Feud will take place between 9-10pm, and contestants will need to arrive at Dante's (1 SW Third, in downtown Portland), at 8pm. If you would like to play, please contact me as soon as possible.
