Wikipedia can be helpful and a starting point if there is no where else to look. However, never trust a pirate..er...no wait that's never trust wikipedia. -Greydog AP Article on Hoax Student hoaxes world's media on Wikipedia Phony quote appears in obituaries for French composer Maurice Jarre By Shawn Pogatchnik updated 7:50 a.m. PT, Tues., May 12, 2009 DUBLIN - When Dublin university student Shane Fitzgerald posted a poetic but phony quote on Wikipedia, he said he was testing how our globalized, increasingly Internet-dependent media was upholding accuracy and accountability in an age of instant news. His report card: Wikipedia passed. Journalism flunked. The …

Not sure how many of you have viewed or follow "Deadliest Catch" on the Discovery Channel but these past couple of episodes have been rather emotional. They've been following the last days of late Phil Harris, Captain of the Cornilia Marie. Tuesday will be the 2 hour farewell episode to this amazing Captain of the Berring Sea. He has the wisdom and callous of a well seasoned pirate captain with a great respect for the sea. The episodes have been just as rough as the Berring Sea itself but they have been well worth watching in honor and respect for the late Berring Sea Captain. ~Lady B

OK, you all know I'm slightly warped, but this is actually quite an interesting site. It's basically a listing of a few hundred sites that have to do with death and disfigurement. Now, don't go spreading rumors that I'm a sickie - I use this site partly for some of my writing, and partly just for my sense of morbid curiosity. ONE WARNING - you might want to shield the little one's eyes from some of this stuff...or your own eyes... With that in mind... Death and Disfigurement

We have lost a good Pirate.. It is with great sadness that I tell you that Bad Jack, Jim Potkey the lead singer for “Pirates of the Black Swan” passed away yesterday morning from what they believe was a blood clot. Kate says that the stress of losing the house and all their pets to fire was most likely too much. She is looking for help from any local black Powder folks since his wish was to have his ashes shot from a cannon. If anyone has a contact, please email me off list and I will get you in touch with the family. Such grand music that will now not be heard. Thanks mates,

During the Summer, this Pirate lives, eats and breathes Baseball. This morning, the starting pitcher for last nights game for the Anaheim Angels, was killed in an accident with a hit and run driver. Hours earlier, he had pitched 6 scoreless innings in his first start for the Angels. He was considered one of the top prospects in the major leagues Yeah, they caught the guy but... 2 other people were also killed. Nick Adenhart was only 22 years old and had a limitless future ahead of him. I am so bummed.

Seems to be alot of DP cases in the news lately. Do you believe convicted murderers can be rehabilitated to the point of being reincorporated into society? Or have their cases be mitigated to Life w/o Parole? Should it truly be an "eye for an eye"?

I overheard recently in a conversation of a stranger "....yeah, his old lady finally karked it". I have never heard this term, but found myself trying to hold back my chuckles from hearing it. So, anyway, I wnt searching for various slangs used for death: Death Slang

Sometimes we have bad days, weeks, or longer. Mayhaps we celebrate or suffer things alone. I call many here friend, and would like to think I can offer them some solace or support. So, I humbly offer this thread as a place to post dedications to those who may need it. Despite the bravado, posturing and brave faces shown here, life can be taxing. I dedicate this first post to everyone here... "Life is Beautiful" by Vega4

Ok folks, as many of you know I have a great love for WWII russian reenacting. This is greatly due to the 95th Rifles of which I am proud to call home. I have just seen a trailer for a new Daniel Craig movie of which he is apparently a Polish or Russian resistance fighter. This is seriously ironic since I have been trying to get the resistance efforts to a respectable level... Just for the record and for folks whom are not familiar with WWII reenacting... It tends to be a common opinion that the reenactors portraying resistance fighters are less than equal, when compared to the rest or the reenacting community... I have always hoped to change that!! Unfortunately…

From The Star (UK) Depp in vigil for ill daughter By THOMAS WHITAKER and NICK PARKER March 08, 2007 JOHNNY DEPP was last night keeping a vigil for his seriously ill daughter at a British hospital. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor was due to start filming a new movie in England when LILY-ROSE, seven, became sick. He and his partner VANESSA PARADIS have spent the last nine days with their little girl, who is in a “serious condition”. The couple, who live in France with Lily-Rose and their four-year-old son Jack, have been coming into the hospital via a staff entrance. They travel in a blacked-out people carrier with their security team. A hospital source said: …

Well I can know say I know exactly how many piratical weapons will fit inside a guitar case. 2 cutlasses, 6 pistols, three daggers, one marlinspike, a baldric and two belts. Had to pack the weapons in a hard shell case for my trip this weekend.

I figured I'd post this here. Captain Morgan and I have talked about our trip so much in this section anyway-lol! And I'm sure he'll eventually be putting his pix up soon too. This is all the cool pix that my sister Sabrina and I took. Check them out here at my photo album: http://photobucket.com/albums/v251/Christi...sneyland%20pix/ On Saturday September 4th, 2004, my sister Sabrina and I took Josh (Captain Morgan) for his first visit to Disneyland. What better tour guides than 2 crazy sisters who are from California! Been going at least once a year since we were 3 years old! We had an absolute blast! It was simply perfect for a holiday weekend. Not that many crowd…

Got a bug in my head and went scrounging up terms of service today and found some little not pleasant gems in Facebook. But here it is cribbed from the Facebook Terms of Service on my own account. So those of you who do anything interesting and also share it on Facebook be aware of some changes in the terms. What ever you put on Facebook becomes their property forever. This is a pretty abrupt change from the standard social networking terms where what you post is usable by them until you unpost it but never their property. This isn't the entire Terms of Service but the parts that I found particularly disturbing....

I was recently involved in a discussion with a fellow pirate that spanned many subjects, when we suddenly turned to the sacred subject of Bacon. That holy and blessed meat of divine, savory goodness. The capstone in the pyramid of food groups. The crown jewel in the vault of salt meats. The ultimate additive. The sanctified condiment. A supernatural food wrought from the garbage of man by that most humble hog...which magically transmutes, transfigures and transports the cast off remnants and table scraps of our kitchen into a delicacy as precious to our waiting pallets as chocolate. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered that this friend, with whom I have h…

So I was editing my myspace like I do and realized there isn't really a home page on the forums like we use to have. We use to have HTML links that we could put on website so people could click on them. Do we still have those anywhere? I would love to use one for my blog site and pass the word around!

Ok I got this in my mail so thought I would try it... *grins* ESP test I got this: This means you have an uncanny ability to look into the future and know ahead of time what is going to happen. You might, for instance, simply know that you're going to get that job before the interview even happens with a certainty that exceeds what you would expect to have simply knowing the facts of the situation. You might have a sense of dread before going out for the evening only to later have a flat tire on your way home. These little hunches are easy to ignore but for you especially, quite often lead to a true prediction of what is going to happen. These predictions can be used t…

Next time you have a bad day at work...think of this guy. Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers. He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs. Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won. Hi Sue, Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother. Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all. Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first…
