You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott.

;):lol: I'm there! And, I want to meet that bartender. ;)

Toward the end, that last guy on the left holding the sign was wearing an eye patch. Pirate! ;)

Sentimentally for Summer "Under the Boardwalk"

bare feet, sand in yer lunch and salty hair..siiigh

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help....

Her reputation was her livelihood.

I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice!

My inner voice sometimes has an accent!

My wont? A delicious rip in time...

"500 Miles" by the Proclaimers  *Which is really called, "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)"*

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qQfqSWe8eVE

(Has some great clips o' Johnny Depp from, "Benny & Joon".)

That song was playing at the liquor store last night, while I was choosing rum & liqueurs. Gotta stock the pirate ship's bar for that sea cruise!

And this song goes out to all the Nereids we'll be leaving behind on the beach:

For Red Cat Jenny, because she has a thing about Mounties, a song about Pirates AND a Mountie:

"The Last Saskatchewan River Pirate" by the Arrogant Worms:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvs9ctCen2E

[Note the perfect casting of Norrington as "Salty Bob"!]

... and the same song, this time acted out by some actual Saskatchewan kids:

And the same band, singing a song just about Mounties:

... and the same song with clips of Paul Gross in Due South ;) :

And shipboard romance for Mounties (I think I missed this episode!):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gHPR_jfjok

... and the "Mountie" singing a shipwreck ballad (complete with bagpiper, because we Canucks are all part Scot anyway):

This poem is dedicated to the one who knows it is for him.

I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for their religion -

I have shudder'd at it.

I shudder no more.

I could be martyr'd for my religion

Love is my religion

And I could die for that.

I could die for you.

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

The Dimension of Time is only a doorway to open. A Time Traveler I am and a Lover of Delights whatever they may be.

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.

To Some One Special:

Knight's in White Satin by the Moody Blues

I heard this song the other night and now that is all I can hear in me head.

I recently found this poem...I think it absolutely Beautiful. So I dedicate it to he who knows it is for him.

A Special World

A special world for you and me

A special bond one cannot see

It wraps us up in its cocoon

And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold

Gently nestling us to the fold

Like silken thread it holds us fast

Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break

A new one forms in its wake

To bind us closer and keep us strong

In a special world, where we belong.

To a friend I once knew

Standing by,

All the way.

Here to help you through your day.

Holding you up,

When you are weak,

Helping you find what it is you seek.

Catching your tears,

When you cry.

Pulling you through when the tide is high.

Just being there,

Through thick and thin,

All just to say, you are my friend.

To my dear wee lad, the Joy of my Life. And to my mother who watches over him.

Child and mother

O mother-my-love, if you'll give me your hand,

And go where I ask you to wander,

I will lead you away to a beautiful land,--

The Dreamland that's waiting out yonder.

We'll walk in a sweet posie-garden out there,

Where moonlight and starlight are streaming,

And the flowers and the birds are filling the air

With the fragrance and music of dreaming.

There'll be no little tired-out boy to undress,

No questions or cares to perplex you,

There'll be no little bruises or bumps to caress,

Nor patching of stockings to vex you;

For I'll rock you away on a silver-dew stream

And sing you asleep when you're weary,

And no one shall know of our beautiful dream

But you and your own little dearie.

And when I am tired I'll nestle my head

In the bosom that's soothed me so often,

And the wide-awake stars shall sing, in my stead,

A song which our dreaming shall soften.

So, Mother-my-Love, let me take your dear hand,

And away through the starlight we'll wander,--

Away through the mist to the beautiful land,--

The Dreamland that's waiting out yonder.

My favorite character from Alice and Wonderland is of course the Cheshire Cat. I dedicte this bit to all those who enjoy good wit.

Cheshire Cat [singing] 'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves / Did gyre and

gimble in the wabe: / All mimsy were the borogroves, / And the mome raths outgrabe.

Alice: Now where do you suppose...?

Cheshire Cat: Lose something?

Alice: [turns around to find just the Cat's smile talking to her] Oh my! oh, no no, I was just... uh never mind.

Cheshire Cat: Oh, that's quite all right. One moment please.

[two eyes drop down on top of the mouth and the full cat form appears]

Cheshire Cat: Second chorus.

[singing]

Cheshire Cat: 'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves / Did gyre and gimble in the wabe

Alice: Why, why you're a cat!

Cheshire Cat: A *Cheshire* Cat.

[starts to disappear]

Cheshire Cat: All mimsy were the borogroves...

Alice: Oh wait!

Cheshire Cat: [reappears] There you are! Third chorus...

Alice: Oh, no, no. I was just wondering if you could help me find my way.

Cheshire Cat: Well that depends on where you want to get to.

Alice: Oh, it really doesn't matter, as long as....

Cheshire Cat: Then it really doesn't matter which way you go.
