My friend Jeremy and I were talking about various subjects a few months back, when he happens to mention this guy named Greg Raymer. "Who's that?" I ask. He proceeds to tell me that there is this professional poker player named Greg Raymer who wears my glasses. He doesn't just wear them now and then, he wears them all of the time. See Wikipedia article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Raymer You see I made these lizard hologram glasses when I worked at Krystal Holographics back in 1995. You know the kind I'm talking about. Silly, novelty, hologram glasses. Don't get me wrong, I thought they turned out well for what they were back then, but I thought Jeremy…

So, I'm watching AstroSpies tonight on PBS. And lo and behold is my wife's uncle, Uncle Al, who I see at all the family gatherings. All I knew is he was one of the original Space Cowboys (like in the movie). Wrong! He was a super cool space spy in training. The secret lives of other family members... It occurs to me every now and then we have a story to tell, something to share which requires a longer post. So here ya go: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I work at the International terminal at JFK in NY. We're the largest of the terminals on a 5,000 acre airport. It's a city unto itself. Our terminal qualifies as a mid sized airport all on it's own. 4:58AM.. Bleary eyed I took a walk through the terminal to get some air. Enjoying the fact that I had sneakers on which I shouldn't have..but hey..pirate 90% of the time I'm in the tower controlling the planes. But sometimes I do duty policing the ramp, watching the security…

In Capt. Twill, Gentleman of Fortune posted that he was getting kinda burned out with Pyracy... I posted that in Winter, I kinda find something else to do...... (that way I don't burn out...) So I made my version of a Browncoat uniform....Cotton Kaki pants (based off a pattern for a Yankey Civil War uniform) and a short brown wool jacket (based off of a Confederate uniform jacket) and suspenders (made outta black webbing) ... I still have to make a holster, and then it's all done I have a pair of tall boots (BUT NOT bucket boots...) So all that is left are the minor details.... maybe I should post a picture of it........ ........still thinking of making a Reaver.... no…

Depp... I gotta take my hat off to the guy, not only did he donate $2 million to the hospital that treated his daughter, but he showed up in secret dressed as Jack Sparrow and told stories to kids there. Brings a tear to this old pirates eye... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...5012974,00.html

Sometimes we have bad days, weeks, or longer. Mayhaps we celebrate or suffer things alone. I call many here friend, and would like to think I can offer them some solace or support. So, I humbly offer this thread as a place to post dedications to those who may need it. Despite the bravado, posturing and brave faces shown here, life can be taxing. I dedicate this first post to everyone here... "Life is Beautiful" by Vega4

Ok, it's not piratey - but we've talked about everything from Star Wars to what color hair we have in the past, so here I go.... I am a huge fan of the Dragonlance Series of books since '92. My collection is up to over 70 novels and a handful of gaming suppliments. The first book in the series, "Dragons of Autumn Twilight", was relased on DVD as a 90 minute animated film this past Tuesday and I snapped it up. I had seen trailers and screen shots so I my expectations were low to start with. Then I watched it. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. Anyone else see it? Wanna vent?

For the first time since moving to San Diego, friend Bob took Boats and I out to the Anza Borrego desert for some shooting and 4 wheeling. For the first time I got to shoot Boat's black powder pistol - I wore some pirate clothes out for the pictures - I did change clothes afterwards. But when it came time to leave and do some 4 wheeling, well the pictures speak for themselves.... I was laughing my ass off! Ya Bob, can I hear you tell the Rangers again how you are and experianced 4wheeler? You should have seen the look on their faces...I was busting a gut... Fun at Anza Borrego Desert
