  1. It's not madness or obsession.... Determination. It took me the better part of 4 hours last night to get all of the boning in, therefore that was all I got finished last night.
  2. I am sure it is optional, Jack. Mine don't have frillies...I am not sure, but I doubt that working class folks would have had the money or resources for the frippery.
  3. How about a duct tape dress form? I know someone who has done one and used it and it worked well! http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2007/06/...tape_dress.html http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/3659/c...tting-assistant Or you could at least use the technique to up size your current dress form...and then remove it when you need or want to?
  4. Kate is not making her own eyelets. Kate's wonderful hubby agreed to do that part because Kate's eyelets look like she was sewing drunk....but you can gaze at Mickey's eyelets all you want! LOL!
  5. Possessed? No. Determined. Cheeky knows how determined.
  6. I am finishing up Matusalems sketchbook today....Since I work 8-5 I will try and get it out to pyrateleather Monday. I have PEW's sketchbook in my possession and will send it out in February, I think....so I won't be sending two at once. And I think that will set Cass and I back on track. Not real sure though.
  7. The cool thing about stays, Rusty, is that when wearing mantuas, etc, you don't necessarily need to worry about the colour of the stays. The use of stomachers was very very chic. That's why I am making mine red and am less than concerned over the fact that they match nothing that I already have. At PiP....I was bad and didn't wear my mantuas much. Bad Kate. I've always been one to absolutely need to match everything with everything, and my Mickey is completely opposite. He accidentaly matches. Oh, and in my opinion...there are lots of lovely earthy colors that can go with rust coloured silk, and I think that it would look lovely with even wool and linen. :) Yes, I will post photos of the progress.
  8. Just the crappy kitchen lighting, Rusty. It's really a nice, deep red. Crimson, almost.
  9. To continue on....I cut out the outside fabric and the interlinings today since I have the day off. It's red changeable silk.

  16. I must have soooo totally been at the wrong place at the wrong time....... You were there last year.....? Where was I?
  17. Sorry, shoulda taken a photo with a ruler in it. They are about 6-7" long....perfect regular eating spoons. nice and smooth wood too. They seem pretty durable.
  18. Found these at Joann Fabrics today.... Up near the registers in the $1 type bins. They had a whole section of bins that were marked $2.50 and this set of spoons was in it. They had TONS, of course every Joann Fabrics will likely be different, but it doesn't hurt to look if you are looking for some feast gear! Extra spoons are always handy, also!
  19. ...Sleeping off the Green Fairy????? Actually, we got up late and didn't stay long Sunday....so I don't remember!
