Just thought I would slip this in here. The Coalition of Historical Trekkers will have their National gathering at Fort Osage near Sibley, Missouri April 15th thru the 20th. Lots of period vendors and the 17th century stuff is on a rise here in the midwest, (due to a new interest in La Salle et al), any landlocked pyrates in the middle waters area should consider a shopping trip if not camping the whole week. Heres the link to info and pre registration form. Register early and it is only 5 bucks a person, doubles after the cut-off date. This year's Port Washington Pirate Festival is lucky to have Suburban Motors Harley Davidson as a major sponsor. We are looking for approximately a half dozen pirate queens/ladys/wenches to ride on the back of some gorgeous new Harleys for a Motorcycle Fashion Show, and possibly in the parade as well. The one caveat, due to the circumstances we can not have ladys in long, flowing skirts...while blood at a pirate event is to be expected, we would hate to mess up the bikes. So, for all you Buccaneer Babes whose garb includes pants...I'm looking for a few good pirates! 18 and over only, please. If you are interested, please send me an email dame_one@hotmail.com or pm …

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin this weekend is an event near and dear to the Pirate aficionado: shipwrecks and their recovery - The Ghost Ships Festival. There was an article in today's Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel about the team that explored various famous sunken ships, including Blackbeard's ship. Admission is $25 at the door at the Milwaukee Airport Sheraton. Scuttle Sally (Kim Chavez) from the Port Washington Pirate Festival will be there promoting that event. For more details, visit the Ghost Ships Festival web site.

I was wondering if anyone has heard much about the Military through the ages timeline event in Maryland in March (March 17th - 18th this year)... It is in or near Williamsburg. Do any of the pirate groups set up or attend this one? I've attached a link below in case anyone is interested or wants to know more. http://www.virginia.org/site/description.a...&MGrp=3&MCat=11 If there is a pirate group going or thinking of going, would you mind if I joined your crew for this weekend?

Ahoy mateys! Just a heads up that Searle's Raid O' St Augustine be comin' up March 3rd. It be a historical reinactment. So they will not take any guff. No skull n crossbones. No plastic. No Jacks, Wills, Lizs, Daveys, or Barbossa types. We'll be at Th' Fountain O' Youth park from 10am until the raid begins around 6 or 7 or 8. Seems pirates didn't have watches so it always changes when it will kick off. Hope ta see some new faces thar.

My publishers will send me anywhere to hawk my new book, (Gus Openshaw's Whale-Killing Journal). As it's more maritimey than piratey (although one of the main characters is a pirate) in the market for decent maritime festivals, and would be much obliged if anyone tells me of one. Charleston, SC, is the only one on the docket so far.
