Ahoy to all my fellow pyrates out there. As I was scouring the web for upcoming Halloween parties I happened to find this one in the Los Angeles area and it's right off the 405. It is going to be at a large center and they are going to have contests and prizes etc. I thought it would be fun for a large gathering of pyrates to come together here. There is a prize for best group! Check out the webby and let me know what you think. Halloween Costume Party

Just curious to know if there are any other pirates in the great lone star state. The only events I know of that might attract such scurvy dogs would be the Scarborough Fair (alas, already past) or the big Texas Rennesance Festival (not untill October). Anyone know if there any other pirate events in these parts?I know we have a local SCA, but I don't know if there are any pirates in the group...

On Saturday, October 13th we shall be celebrating the 15th Annual Baconfest since its inception. Baconfest was first begun as the brainchild of Ty Coleman who was forced to listen to me and my friend Jonas as we expounded on the beauty and divinity of all things Bacon. We Wetlanders, a medieval reenactment club, mutually agreed that we would have a Baconfest that year and every year thereafter. The small culinary festival has been running now these 15 years and we have consumed considerable quantities of the salty stuff, braving clogged arteries and a shortened life span to celebrate the fruit of the Pig. Over the years the Wetlanders of Baconfest have often wondered …

Ahoy bay area pirates- I just got word that a local hospital needs pirates for an awards banquet this coming Saturday evening in Hayward. The theme is "Treasure Island" and they'd like us to greet guests at the door, pose for photos with guests, mingle, do ad-lib interaction with the guests and for my parrot to be in attendance. They'd like 4 to 5 pirates if possible. I know this is horribly short notice, but are any pirates out there available? Please let me know ASAP if you'd be able to come by emailing me at talesofthesevenseas@hotmail.com WHERE: 527200 Calaroga Ave Hayward, CA 94545. I'll send directions to participants. WHEN: October 11th, 5:30pm (thats this …

For those of you who expressed an interest in the black powder rendezvous that I mentioned at Ojai: Like the title says, you spend the weekend immersing yourself in black powder. There are two camps: the primitive pre-1840 area (which we camp in) and the "tin tipi" area for more modern camps. They have a trail walk with targets as well as a shooting range. And for those of you who enjoy throwing sharp objects, a tomahawk/knife throwing area. And since this land is privately owned by a cannon enthusiast, we always bring wee Babbette to sound the wake-up call - although folks are pretty much up by then and yelling "WOO HOO!" after each cannon fire. Railroad Flats…

There have been some inquiries as to the next local black powder Rendezvous. There's one scheduled for October 5th through the 7th at the same location as before - Railroad Flats, which is northeast of Stockton (kinda in-between Stockton and Sacramento.) A few more folks will be joining us and it's going to be a heck of a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to getting a lot of use out of the knife Patt made for me. So if anyone is interested in joining us... I'll post more information as I get it.

Yaaar. Funds have been depleted so alas I cannot go. If someone does, let me know how it is. Looks more like a drunken frat party though but looks like a blast. UPDATED!!!! Alright, fellow pirates! Here's an event YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!!! Again... October 12-13 in Helmsburg, Indiana... the Jackson Township Fire Department will hold their annual Parade and Carnival. This year, they have an interesting tri-theme: Popcorn, Pirates and Fire Prevention. This festival coincides with National Fire Prevention Week. Again, they want Pirates for this event! As stated below, there will be allowed a Historical Encampment (free to participants). Fire Pits are allowed, too, so you can cook food. People experienced with flintlocks and cannons are desired. Demos possible, skits/interactions/battles most likely! Since it's Fire Preve…
