  1. Here this will help...... Rumba carefully pours a small amount of Absinthe in a small glass, then takes a small strainer and puts a sugar cube on it and then pours a little amount of water over the sugar cube so that it melts into the green liquid in the glass.... then takes a sniff.....yum.....and drinks it down.....OH YUM! Who's next?

  15. Many years ago at a now defunct Ren-faire there use to be the Brewer's Guild and they would have mead, beer, and wine tasting competitions. That year, someone made some honey Meade that was incredible! Yes it won first place in the Meade catagory, and overall top winner of all. I have never tasted another like it. The stuff sold in the stores is nothing more than wine sweetened with honey....not the same as a true Meade.
  16. Not much of a drinker myself....especially when it comes to beers, but I've gotten a great respect for any Yellow Tail wines. They are probably the absolute best I've ever had. The new Rose they've come out with is wonderful as are the Merlot and white wines they have. We have Stone Brewery practically in our backyard. We are just a couple of miles from it, though we have never been there, you can get lunch and dinner there.....actually we tried to find the place one time and couldn't; Boats is a beer lover.
  17. Any time you want to ship some venison to me, let me know!
  18. Certain parts of last year I can do without. I can only hope after surgery sometime soon, I'll be able to walk/stand again without pain.
  19. Thanks for answering his question. Rumba
  20. I wish I could say it's been great, but I've been sick for a week now with stomach flu and going through heat/chills, can't eat anything...can't keep it down... But we did get to see the fireworks last night from our window at Escondido's First Night at Grape Day Park....that was nice. We could hear and see lots of illegal fireworks also....hey go to New Mexico, you can get whatever you want there.... To QuarterMaster James, thank you for the extra treat of glorious coins from other countries and a few dubloons which arrived in the mail on the 31st of December. Rumba....the sick
