I mean you no offence, mate. For I would only give the account that real GAOP pirates weren't always rich enough to afford a pistol, as even your average 1860's civil war soldier couldn't have enough money to procure a Colt revolver for himself as perhaps his comrades did. I'd only give the advice that it's probably best to stay within your budget. Nothig wrong with a cutlass. ...or even a $35 replica. My one and only advice is for you to decide what your theatrical objective is.

Sorry to jump off-topic but I saw this post and the first thing that came to mind was the quote from "The Untouchables" when the old cop played by Sean Connery says "Typical Italian.....bings a knife to a gunfight". But anyway, I like guns, of course, because cutlasses can't go 'bang'. as you were, gentlemen

Attn Iron Bess: About the Alice in Wonderland ride
Matusalem replied to Christine's topic in Beyond Pyracy
Whuh? Where are we talking about...Anaheim or Florida? The Haunted Mansion was definitely on my list of Top Five, I'd be heartbroken if that was altered in any way. I was profoundly blown away with the "Pepper's Ghost" projection technique that was used. -
Haunting Lily, this is living proof that dogs do *actually smile* Red Cat Jenny...been there/done that...but not sunrise over JFK, you oviously have front row seats on that tower....I will say that I have had the fortune of seeing such a sight while landing in Hong Kong (not Singapore, darling) on an overseas flight. Iron John, thanks for the givaway, ya bum ( only kidding )

shweeeet! It looks great on you. I'm preparing to sell some stuff on ebay right now. Non-pirate things, a guitar actually, and I am going through some emotions giving the thing up.

I had a USS Constitution model once when i was 11. It was quite large (about 2 and a half feet long)....it was one of those kits built by Revell or whatever. The 4th of july being a big deal in my town meant accessability to lots of fireworks so the poor thing got subjected to lots off attacks with firecrackers. Silly juvenile stuff I did. I still have rolls of miniature rope that came with it (rather thick olive-colored thread) which is impossible to break. Now I am taking interest in stuff like this but I have to ask myself is the price really worth it? Model Kits Check out the mini cannons too!

The same could be said for red wine. Antioxidants, life-extending resveratrol....alcohol...works for me. I have given up almost entirely on rum and other hard spirits. Unlike California or French wines, the South American and Australian reds don't give me that "headache". Rum is all sugar (sugar cane distillate) , and sugar = fat. ....Especially if one is mixing a "Cuba Libre" ( a.k.a Rum&Coke) Red grapes grown in rugged, less hospitable places have mor resveratrol...the chemical that slows aging. Same can be said about blueberries and dark red grapes (I eatblack seedless ones) Well, that's my health food rant for today.

BriarRoseKildare, sorry to hear of your loss, I know what it's like. Give yourself some time to grieve. Now on a different subject: Two or so years ago, one of my bosses has informed me that once I've achived 10 years employment I am guaranteed 3 weeks of paid vacation. Now I found out that only 5 years guaranees me the 3 weeks vacation...which I became elagable just this past June. No one told me this. The boss that told me this retired right about this time. Now I'm stuck with 9 days to eat up before years end. If I don't take them, they expire. Hmmm. I'll say this again. ......hmmm.
