Good Deal Iron Bess.....!

Hey folks, I don't know if you ever saw the 1979 production of this musical? I remember catching it on PBS and thinking wow this is some kind of really really dark play and did not bother to watch it because it was so so dark, well that was then. I recently rented the new Production with Johnny Depp and WOW it was throughly well done! The sets and the actor/singers where all fab! Even Borat! Did you know that each actor was not a singer but trained for singing for this movie? I thought they all did a fantastic job! Costumes where great as well and the dark makeup for Helen and Johnny were primo!

I thought the same thing that it was almost a repeat of every other Elizabeth movie...but heck if you have a history line you have to follow it I guess. The best part was the wonderful costumes and the hairpieces either the wigs or the accesories where the most beautiful I have ever seen for Qn Elizabeth, how much they were authentic I don't know but they were extremely beautiful. As for a feast for the eyes for costumes.....check out Marie Antoinette....wow eye candy for costumes!!!!!

Finally rented it and probably will add it to my collection as well. I throughly loved the Pirate part of the movie. Captain Shakespeare was EXCELLENT....I would love to have his wardrobe closet intact!!!!!!! As to the flying ship I wish they would of explained a tad more about the lightning, and as well about the Lightning Marshalls that they were leary of. Does anyone have more to expand about the lightning other than it powered the ship and they could sell the extra lightning for $?

Mad...gonna slap you if you don't get it in yer thick noggin..that they will not attack you if you are not true to costume..only people part of the faire and guilds have the strict costuming guidelines placed upon them...faire goer's/visitors do not get subjected to it. There enough said. Mad I will be at the Pirate Faire in Corona on the 26th...late afternoon till closing. I am going to try to get to Faire the 19th. As to leather I know one of the pouch makers...known her since the 80's...let me know if you want to know about this vendor? McDrago....I as well have been going to Agoura since the early 80's. Those where the best days of Faire...and the early days of Glen Helen....when you can still bring animals!!!!!!! Iron Bess and others? A couple of years ago at Irwindale did you see that guy almost done up like the devil...with all the red pleather....did you see the cod piece on that costume...oh my'ssssss! Peeps where taking pics with him left and right. Oh yeah I remember seeing gals in Chain Mail teddy's with nothin on underneath. But I heard the new Irwindale management even frowns upon cleavage.....but heh! They did not want the Belly Dancers in the beginning...glad they changed their tune about them...since that is one of the performances or troupes I never miss and dance along with them.

Mad, No one will kick you out of the faire for your garb....geezus I have seen peeps go in early 19th century garb down to Peter Pan look alikes....don't worry just wear your best garb YOU LIKE and just go!!!!! I will check if there is a Pirate Day. They have a new stage show that I am looking forward to...Adam Crack-Whip Master... update: I went to the website and did not see them list a Pirate Day as they did last year.

I am so sorry your Pirate buddy has gone to the High Pastures. I know I still mourn for my buddy Jackie (Jack Russell Terrier). It's very tough to loose someone who is so close to ya. Check out this website, I don't know if they sell blanks but I loved looking at this page that had all the tricorns... DirtyBilly'sHats I also just noticed they sell buckle shoes many peeps have been looking for those, don't know if they are the same that they want for pirating.
