OKAY..MAD L... I type fast so I forget sometimes to capitalize. I also have 1/4 english from me mum's side as well, but the poor dear granma migrated from England to Germany and there you have it. Yes you will have to try it out at Alpine, I guarantee you you won't be disapointed in the Market at the Meat/Deli counter. But mind you if you go on the weekends grab a number, the lines are huge sometimes, and they have a swap meet in the parking lot on the weekends so that takes up many parking spots, even though the parking lot is huge. It seems many cultures shop there, so the line takes a bit. The bakery is good too. I think you will find many imports there you will be bound to like. I am thinking I would like to go to the Koroneberg Faire on the 24th since it stays open till 9 that night.....anyone else going that day and staying late?

Madl...Alpine Village is where you need to go over in Torrance, you can see there sign right off the 101 freeway. Being of German/Austrian origins my family shopped there since it opened back in the early 60's. Go to the Market, they have all kinds of sausages, smoked meat, and snitzel cuts and cold cuts...even both kinds of head cheese. They make there recipe's from Germany...and the sauerkraut you get at the counter is really good. If I want good Brats I go there and buy them. Some things over the years they don't have any more like my favorite kind of peperoni sticks or polish sausage, but they have a good variety of sausages. I even buy English bangers there for St Patty's day(in the freezer behind the fresh meat counter). They have a restaurant there as well where you can get German food as well...I love the Sauerbratten. They have a brunch on Sunday's which has the tradition american food and all the german food as well...totally a good deal if you want to try different kinds of foods. Gutte Schmeckt! Alpine Village

Something happened at the end of Faire on Saturday, a bunch of police, ambulance and fire trucks came to the back entrance to where the faire folk enter. Does anybody know what happened? It was quite an ordeal to exit.

Yes MadL, If you can watch the film till the end you can see how the story comes full circle in ironic ways for the main characters. I don't want to give much away. It is very gruesome, even me Beau cannot watch it all the way, but he loves the Adolfo Pirelli song so much, (being Italian himself). But if you can stomach it till the end you can see what happens to the entire story line.

Glad to be of service, me beau and I watch that show a lot.
