  1. They plainly look at the $ not the customer. For something that custom they should have paid for attention to what the customer wanted and asked for confirmation of details before they made the pants..or they just shipped off the shelf items and said to heck with it, they'll just have to deal. I would suggest next time you send along a seperate letter explaining to the T exactly the alteration or specification you expect and not have that on the order form, where they might not catch it.
  2. Lady Barbosa, I purchased mine from Mountain TopTrading due to it was the cheapest for trying it all out for the first time. Mount Top Trade webby And I believe I also found Capeline for the hat blanks for the hats that require a large brim, such as Barbosas. I was considering also purchasing one due to my b/f liked Mercurio Cavaldi's hat in "The Brothers Grimm".
  3. ...are yea still looking for another pair o breeches?
  4. MadL, I am so sorry to hear of all your costume delima's. It is trully horrible that you have now gone through TWO vendors and still don't have a pair of breeches. Can you post photos here of the two that you got and we can't see if we can alter them for you? Geez it seems easy what you want done. Next time it is better to buy your material and send the vendor that material with sketches of what you want. In the past when I have gone to websites with ladies making grand ballroom and period dresses they usually want to consult and have patterns and measurements and sketches all decided before beginning a task. As far as how you want your fly that is up to you...period or not period it's all for fun anyways. Ladies of course love those bulging fronts..te heee! You can always send me an email to help you with costuming, I am a novice at costuming, I have been altering thrift shop clothes into costumes every since I was a kid. I will do some searches on breeches on the net and see what I find as well. As I was looking around the web I found many sites offering drop front breeches...where you looking for another new pair or to repair your other two... this vendor obviously knows about buckles as it is one of their options... vendor webby
  5. wow that saberist dress is really cool, guess I have not looked at Ravenswood webby for a while did not know they had this design.
  6. Jill, your friends Hook design is very nice indeed Bravo! Good idea to use the wood end to cover the skin...almost like the peg leg wood idea...so it carry's forth..good design concept on his part..kudos again. Capt, besides this wood design..a metal design cupped area would look cool too..just a thought.
  7. Hurricane how about this...and also the website... website and I also found this and added it for the heck of it.. Halloween Tombstones - DIY and I found a photolog of old photos..if you start here and arrow forward you will see a bunch of very old headstones that are kinda of spookly carved.. tombstones photolog
  8. Heck here's the chance to make your own. Get out that concrete that sets fast make a mold in an aluminum pan. Just an idea folks! And about that costume, I have seen Jack impersonators sport better ones. till read
  9. I thought it was cool that they deviated on this characters hook
  10. I thought Jack's pants actually has some thin lines running through it and not a solid color?
  11. ebay webby but I thinks he may be asking for a tad too much peso's!
  12. Well I have to report, that one of the hat blanks I received is done, and it came out nicely. (that one was for beau). Now I have one more to finish, I have almost all the trim tacked on, then I found some fur trim, not maribou but actual fur trim (burgandy to go with my frock coat). Then some finishing tacks a few brooches and I am done. I am going to hold off on stiffening.
  13. While researching Tricorns for shaping my new hat blanks I also found the same two statements as before. One was to show off the fancy curls from the wigs and the other to direct rain away. I did not know about the advantage in the wind...I will now test out my new hats to that effect. info on tricorns
  14. I have seen recently since I have been researching shaping my new tricorne that they also fashion straw hats into tricornes...now that would be a nifty look for summer. Use a big hat pin with a pearl on it or some beachy nautical piratey theme and bang you have a winner hat for the summer that people I would think would oggle over. When I run into that pic again I will post.
  15. I doubt that they are every going to use heavier models, unless that is what is required. (Been watching those Model shows on cable, and it is what the client wants or needs.) I just looked at the accessories page and yeah that dirk through the hat looks cool. I am glad Tyra put on some weight to show a bit of meat still looks sexy.
  16. I think they use the size -0 models as walking manequins so to speak, also they use less fabric... I agree the camoflauge is kinda yeck, but envision it in a material you would like. These are just designers art designs, they don't go into actual manufacturing, but they do inspire the designs. So be happy if for Spring 2008 we see some piratey influence. Just think of those large belts they have out now, some of them almost look like corset's. Hey now, they can promote those big faux tricornes if they want, all the better for us....WINK
