  1. Aye, I be having a good birthday. I be out in Southern Cal visitin relatives who can watch the boybies while me mate and I go sailing. We be christening me early birthday present in Newport Harbor today. That be me trying to sail under the bridge at high tide. If'n ye heard squealing, that be me windex scraping along the underside of the bridge. I would have made it no problem just with the mast ceptin I put that windex up on the mast. Thanks to ye all for the birthday wishes. A gal my age appreciates someone noticing I am getting older. ~as defiant as her boat.
  2. I don't care what is authentic for a woman to wear or not. I'm going to wear the pirate outfit that works best for me. I highly suspect that is what most pirate women did anyway. My costume consists of a open necked shirt with long flouncing sleeves that can be pulled up to make a 3/4 sleeve. A tight bodice to keep me girls out of my way and knickers as I can't sail with a skirt and don't like to wear tights. My boots go to my knees so I can ride horses without chafing and can tuck my knickers into them. My hat is shaped whatever way works for me that day. Most time, the brim is wide as I live and play in Arizona and Southern California. I need it to keep the sun off my face. I guess that is why I am not considered a re-enactor. I won't act appropriately.
  3. Alas that be a beautiful piece, but like so much in me life...beauty is ill afforded to me at this time. I prefer items I care not if damaged as I still be quite a novice at this. Just check out me boat. I have learned very quickly the fine art of repair.

  5. I be having permission to go aboard. I'm planning on being there with me sails up.
  6. Me mates been there and back since the first post. He did bring me back a tall ship again. This time a glass ship in a glass bottle called the "Mary Rose". It is again from the Mayflower glass company in London. Glass ships in glass bottles and a house filled with 3 rowdy boys.
  7. The POTC interactives were mentioned this month in Esquire Magazine. Yes, it was related to a Johnny Depp article, but it was a preface to the interview. So for El Pirata who said earlier about this topic "I don't get it."......I can't help you.
  8. I am amazed that cruise lines don't seem to know about PIP. I know that Disney's Cruise Line has a Western Caribbean cruise that stops in Key West. I spoke to the reservation line and they don't have a clue about PIP. Maybe it's an Eisner thing.
  9. Happy Belated Birthday, Lady B. Tis grand to be 30 (and holding :) ) Too old to be banboozeled and Too young to be swindled.
  10. Well then Matey, Tell a sailor how one might be a contributing to this noble charitible cause.
  11. Happy Birthday Morgan! Nice headline Merrydeath. Ye be a good fisherman as well as pirate.
  12. Let me see if I understand this, Tales of the Seven Seas already has non-profit status? Is Royaliste a member of Tales of the Seven Seas? Can there be a special fund for the sponsorship or "scholarship" for the Royaliste to attend the Bougainvilla Voyage 2005 to contribute to? Just thinking out loud.
  13. If'n cursing be a sign of a pirate, then I be a hall of famer.
  14. Ohhhhh, Awwwwwww so bad so bad. Dark Curly hair, I just want to tangle myself up in it (naked).
  15. That would be way too cool. I'm also toying with the name "Defiant" as it seems to describe her captain and crew so well. I will try and post some pictures of her soon. I have been too busy sailing her to take some decent pictures yet.
  16. Very cool, Black Scot. Ye had much better prizes to plunder than here in Arizona. All I got when I won the AZ Ren Faire Pirate contest was a mug and they didn't even put Rum in it.
  17. Barbossa was indeed the "business man" of the movie, but who watches a movie to romantize about a "business man"? (Yep, I'm a Sparrow's fan). I want passion and Sparrow's character was all about passion and fun. I have a "business man" and I love him, but sometimes I need passion and fun. That is what the character of Jack Sparrow represented to me. But let's face it folks, this was not a historically accurate portrayal of pirates. No matter how much you want to analyze the characters, they were just that, characterizations. If you want to analyze the characterizations, then do that. But to compare them to which one represented real pirates better, the answer is probably neither.
  18. Nice job Mateys. It would have been nicer if they had even ye more time on the screen and less blur. It was a bit hard on the eyes, the blur I mean.
  19. I'm guessing they didn't respond because of the way ye spelled Phoenix.
  20. Pictures Pictures Pictures
  21. This price of the kit only is what I paid for a real boat that can hold up to 2 adults and 2 kids. Not as pretty as the HMS Surprise model, but a lot more fun. Speaking of fun....is that you Deacon Frye in that picture of the Wenonah?
  22. Let me explain for those with delayed capacities. I have a search engine set up to look for anything using the words "Pirates of the Caribbean" and send me a link. To think I have a thing with homoerotic is a bit of a stretch considering I'm chatting on a PIRATE board and not the BURT AND ERNIE board. Savvy? Savvy again?
  23. Nary, I already be sailin it on Tempe Town Lake. Barlette Lake north of me house and Prescott Lake in Nor-East Arizona be some other local lakes. We have lots of lakes in Arizona as we own the Colorado River water and damn it as we please to make man-made lakes. :) I be bringin it with me in June to take out in Newport Harbor (or Long Beach, rainbow harbor) and hope to take it out on Mission Bay sometime this summer. It's quite trailerable.
  24. Do you think I'm a little obsessed with POTC?
  25. Nice drawings. I have to agree with the "cut throat off" is not doing it for me. I think you are confusing it with "cut head off" and "spit down throat". Just my two cents worth.
