As someone who has watched WAAAYYYY too many committees, city councils, county commissions, legislatures, etc meet, can I tell you that was a perfectly excellent representation of why nothing is every accomplished! Damn funny stuff!!!
-
Yeah, looking at that I'm pretty sure I am getting a little too comfortable wearing shackles...
-
Woohoo!!! Damn I'll start sticking my nose into stuff more often to get those kinds of rewards!!!

Well, here's my next 10 cents worth. What we are talking about here is certain crewe's that do know one another. We are not randomly picking people have have no sense of who the others are. Dogge will be videoing the basics and we will all be learning them so we can interact with one another. The people who are doing this are ALL part of paid performance troupes. While we are not paid to be at PIP, as it's more of a 'family' gathering, we all do this professionally. Speaking for our crewe, we do have liability insurance as entertainers and performers as well. In addition to swords we do a fire show, the Archangel crewe does a billion other things as professional performers, the BIB crewe likewise. I frankly do not worry about 'ego' issues as we all worked together on everything from battles to taking care of the fort this year and didn't have problems. This is a lot of professionals who have become friends and happen to be located all over the country who would like to be able to play together more when we are together. So this is not just a bunch of people coming off the street to smack each other with swords. We just thought it would be nice to know the same method so when we meet up we can work together. Thats it... Pretty much at this point we know who is involved, we were just discussing options here. And Dogge, I am really tempted to mail a photo of you fighting to PETA and complain about the dogge fighting going on :) I doubt they would appreciate it though.....

Sheesh... I'm out of the loop for a while and look at all the trouble Nell is causing... Aye, our crewe are willing to be the guinea pigs for Dogge, assuming he takes his whiny backside outside and does video (something about snow and ice holding him back... it's too cold... he might chip a nail...something like that.... damn pansy pirates...) I think it's a simple concept. Those who want to learn the program, learn the program. Those who don't keep your swords the hell away from us. Then those who know the program get to the event and already have the basics so we can then take an evening and morning and hammer out what we want to do for a performance. ok. I;m back to impatiently waiting for a Dogge fighting video....

OK!! Head Count!!! They need to know who is going to this thing so they can plan accordingly (food and space and all) If you ARE going to Searle's, Please e-mail Sgt Johnson jeffjohnsonfl@yahoo.com and let him know! He needs numbers of people and how many tents for your groups. If you're not, well, sucks to be you

That's not Original Cynn? Someone lied to me... Hahaha not even close... Cynn is a 6'4 blonde with a mean whip....you'd have known if you met her...
-
who knew Dogges could read??

Thanks so much for the pattern, and timely too. We have a crewe sewing session this weekend so I'll give er a try and let you know...

You may as well be a full blonde Animal..... as for your snoring, that's why we are going to put you in the Buccaneer camp and we are camping elsewhere :) Capt Sterling , dear, still have room for me to hide from the torturous snoring of Animal? I could offer to undress you again
-
Oi!!! Oi!!!! Oi!!!! 'ere now!!! Hahaha I figured you would appreciate that. You're a different kind of blonde... heck you could still deal with all those damnable buttons when you should have been flat on the ground... and you're still a cute blonde Animal... definitely NOT a cute blonde.... and heck he can't even handle buttons sober much less anything drunk... I go back to... he didn't think about the fact that he needed powder.... had his weapon ready... and I can picture him standing there saying 'something doesn't seem quite right...." and not being able to figure it out at the time.... I suppose he may have been waiting until they got closer to bludgeon them.... Capt, you on the other hand always seemed to have a perfectly operational gun....
-
Next time speak up. I almost always carry extra powder for those who fly. I had six pounds of 3F and two of 4F primer for anyone who needed. Sharing out with three other pyrates I barely went through three-quarters of a pound. And I shoot fast and went to almost all of the sunset shoots as well. tsk tsk.... the git didn't tell us he had no powder... he's not blonde without good reason.....
-
Wrong, he's with us. That's Dangerous... mainly named for his crappy drumming... thus the reason he went off the plank.... She's also with us, that's Sheila...... That's Don Brown... and darn... I'm not sure if she is.....
-
That is Youngblood, he's with our crewe....
-
How bout Rocky?
-
That would be fantastic! Heck Rusty then you and I can fight over the Capt, Dogge and the rest of the men... :)
-
awww... we're mostly harmless.... and anything you hear to the contrary is of course just slanderous attacks on our good character... -cough- Sorry... must be that crud going around.....
-
well that's not quite right... we want him to give us hands on instruction on how best to handle his sword.... no.... i don't think that will work either....
-
You could always tell her we just want to use you and send you home.... no wait... that doesn't sound right either....
-
Only if I get the line "you ain't got a chance. I'm the hero of this fight and you know what happens to the villain!"
-
Bring it on :) Although, as is usual, Dogge ignores my list of questions for him and just responds to your post.... hmph..... i'm not ignorrin ya....i am in the middle of tellin my 6 month pregnant wife why 2 girls want me to come back to florida for a long weekend...?!?!? i think i am 'bout to git some real sword practice....ooof hahahaha well if she bests you, she is more then welcome to be our teacher! Also, that is the reason I asked if you wanted to just do all video or whatnot.... I'm flexible, just let me know and we'll start to sort stuff out. Now that we have at least 3 crewes that would like to all be on the same page, I would love to strike on this. Besides, we need LOTS of practice time if we want to start working out real fights down the road..
-
Well we gotta have something to fight about, don't we? It might as well be over a man!

Damn... me too!!! I am loving this.... I am especially excited because I have 2 different swords and axe and some other 'weapon of opportunity' ideas in my head and am glad to know they could all work together with the same techniques. Ok so here are my questions for your Dogge. 1. Do you want to try to figure a way to give us the basics to work on on our own time (or at least be partially familiar with) before you come down and kick our arses for doing things wrong? If so, I would advise getting a move on :) 2. Do you still want to do a meet up in-person weekend? 3. Would you prefer doing a meet up at end of February or early March or sometime in the fall? If you are up for end of February beginning of March, I will get to work on sorting all the details out and setting up places for people to stay. I would also like all of us who are going to use Dogge's expertise to pay for his airfare to get here to do the training. (We'll take care of putting you up at our place and make sure you'll be well fed and have plenty of libations) 4. If we're doing this meet up thing, do we also want to extend to doing some of the museums and such...so say a 4 day weekend? Let me know. I wanna get into a fight with someone You also still owe me a gun butt to the back if I recall
-
Agreed, the thought I had was that if you taught us the basics of the same moves you all do, when we meet up (say the day/night before PIP or another event) we could already have the basics down and then build off of the basics. With that said, I would think if we were able to get the basic moves down then we could possibly start to work out general scripts...and thanks to video technology could even video the interactions and share them among one another. Then, once we actually arrive on site, we even may know most of the scenario, but would still have to play it through with our counterparts a few times to make sure we are at the right tempo and can move through it safely. I want us all to go home in one piece... but have a hell of a great time playing!
