Ahoy maties! Some of you met me at the Tall Ships Challenge in New London this past weekend as a quiet wench with a cutlass. Coastie has converted me to the joys of plundering, pillaging, and looting with some of the greatest characters around. It's good to be here! Cheers!

Ahoy and avaast ye, maytees!!!!!!!!!!.......I figure it be a reasonable time to post this, as soon I'll be done fastenin' planks, and able to concentrate on putting up the cyber connection to this organisation. 'PRIVATEER!......Inc.' is now a fledgling, legal non-profit organisation with a living history theme of sail training and reenactment of maritime events, mostly involving, but not limited to the Tallship Royaliste. At this point this is primarily a thrust to begin her restoration and maintainance in order to campaign the vessel late this year and for sure the 2005 season.....Any and all interest in our formation and pursuits, be it by participation, donation, or ge…

Please forgive me for probably bringing up an ancient subject, but I've been absent for a while...raidin' other foru...erm...ports...and so I've missed quite a bit. But, having just been to the PA Ren Faire, and planning to go a couple more times this year, I got to wondering about what would be in a real female pirate's wardrobe. I am not comfy in traditional 'pirate wench' attire, tho Mr. Das would certainly love me to dress that way. :) But in mid-August there is no way in hell that anyone is gonna squeeze me into a vice-like bodice. And the skirts (esp. with underslips and all) are just too hot for me. I know it's said that female pirates would dress like men.…

Please friends, 'scuse this topic if ye see it as a dark light. As most of ye know, centuries ago the world was different: across Europe was a land no one knew too much about. Places on the other side of the globe had only started to be colonized. The only real means of travel to the new world were by boat. This led to the golden age of piracy as the mother country tried to keep in touch with her colonies. But this is something ye already knew. Then came the trains, the cars, the planes, and the just newly discovered space travel. Along side that, we can talk to people halfway across the world in seconds. I can turn on my TV and find out if there's a fashion show in Pa…

It has come to my attention that some residents of the fair peninsula known as Florida are pointing fingers at ol' Hurricane 'ere, insinuatin' that it is I who is drawing the likes of Charley and now Frances. While I will gladly look them square in the eye anytime, I have not issued any invites and 'tisn't true that one Hurricane automatically draws another. I've noticed some tar and feathers bein' left about on the docks near the Blackheart recently and some scallywag seems to be tryin' to run me out of town to rid the populace of this nuisance (Frances, Charley, et al, not meself). Me own assumption is that it's that blasted Mayor Buddy of neighborin' Portlando, up to…

Here's hoping that the Tortuga Mutineers and all the other Pirate crews, friends, and families in the Keys stay safe and dry from ol' Hurricane Charley. The same goes for all you Buccaneers in the Gulf with Bonnie breathing down on ya'll. Batten down the hatches good!

He never said where he was going. He just walked out the door and didn't turn back even once as he walked to the pier. I always wondered what became of him. Was he lost at sea? Did he perish in prison? Does he own land in the West Indies? Perhaps, he is adrift even now. Can anyone tell me what became of him? There is extra credit for creativity, so remember, keep it double spaced.

In the Raids forum a few weeks ago, I posted about my crew, the Pirate Brethren of Texas, attending bingo at a gay bar in Dallas(in specific the Throckmorton Mining Company bar). Unfortunately, due to conditions beyond our control, Bingo got cancelled, permanantly. My crew has been asked by the managers to come up with some interesting ideas to take the place of Bingo and a thought was to create a "Pirate night" once a month on a Tuesday night. We came up with many ideas, ranging from having the opportunity of bar patrons to be put into pirate garb and have their photo taken as a pirate to a murder mystery theater event(which was one of the manager's idea). After discus…

I was hoping that our fair maidens of the sea could help quench my curiosity. The once great city of Atlantis has slipped beneath the waves, where mortals cannot gaze upon it's majestic architecture. Is she still beautiful lying quitely on the ocean floor, or does it sadden one's heart to see her empty streets. On many nights at sea I have looked to the horizon and invisioned a brightly lit city, with torches blazing and laughter floating on the warm breezes. But many years ago, Great Neptune punished the citizens of Atlantis, and took her away. Now only the creatures of the sea can inhabit this once magical city. Many mariners have told wondorous stories about fair …

HELP!!!! I would like to ask your opinion on which name I should use for a character. Here are the choices and how I came up with them let me know what you think..... Tabitha Foxx: My cats first name that I always use as a handle, and I used foxx because Captain Foxx sounded really good to me.... Pandora Foxx: Cheesy but the name sounds good and Pandora means gifted one from what I found on the internet although I'm not sure about the jokes that would come with it..... OR AnyaBeth Foxx: A combo of my first name (Anastasia) and my middle name (Elisabeth) Thanks for your help!

*is there some kind of rehab group for re-enactors*? Ok I admit it, I am a stitch nazi. There I have said, it and I feel better already. But over the years and especially recently, I have discovered that I am not the center of the universe as I had originally thought. Every day, people live their lives and have good days and bad days with sunshine and rain..... I can't change the world and I am not the patron saint of re-enacting. That doesn't mean that I do not still highly value authenticiy and trying to replicate the past with anal retentive obsession. It just means that I do what I do and I let others do what they do. For After all, we go to Pirate FESTIVALS. …
