I hope that the Mods don't treat this bad. Not really wanting to step on toes... but.. I want to bring to light something.. some of you may have seen and heard about it on the NBC Nightly News last Friday night. World hunger is an issue. Especially now with the natural disasters that are going rampant & destroying lives. People are finding it hard... just o have a simple meal. My parents have been taking part in making meals designated to areas of need in 3rd world countries. We finally tried this evening the fortified rice-soy cassorole-chicken flavored. & I tell you what... FABULOUS! It's the BEST rice meal I have EVER had! Folks eating this are having a g…

Hey mates, I'm a bit crazy around the edges, as you can see by this post. I recently made a fansite for Blenheim Ginger Ale (ever heard of it?). I know the tendency of pirates toward strong drink, so to promote my new venture, I managed to get my friend Blackbeard to do a promo of sorts: Better than Rum and Gunpowder.

JUST A WARNING! I got what I thought was an instant message from a good buddy of mine. He was offline at the time, which is not uncommon with us. It was something about clicking on a link that happened to be at myspace.com When I clicked the link, it went to a page that looked like a Yahoo! sign-in page. I signed in and was redirected to my Yahoo! email. This morning I got online to check my mail and messages, only to find out I cannot login. Someone got my password and changed it so I don't have access to my account. I will now have to set up a new Yahoo! email address as I don't remember the answer to my own "secret question"! (Actually, I know the answer. I…

I found this site called virtual cave that has a section devoted to sea caves that I thought was sort of neat. (Sea caves being something of a piratey thing in my book.) http://www.goodearthgraphics.com/virtcave/...s/seacaves.html There's a link to a nice sketch and map of one of the caves (leading to a whole new website with all kinds of interesting sketches and maps).

Just got through watching a 2 hour special on the History channel titled "How William Shatner Changed the World". Decided to drop by the pub and see what the space pirates had to say and ....nothing!!!! To be honest I was just a little shocked you guys didn't have 3 topics going on about it yet as it was the repeat episode I watched. More than likely your all still on your favorite Trek board debating the show so I the non Sci-Fi pirate shall start the ball rolling. What two peices of Treck tech do you really want? For me it's the phazer and the holo-deck. Just for fun I'll add one more peice of Sci-Fi gear I'd want and thats the internet from Tom Clancy's Net ops series.

Anywho, considering I'm a bit of a lurker (so I doubt anyone has missed me all that much ) but I haven't been on much lately because my work finally started the process of moving to the new building. We've been busting at the seems for a long while so it was about friggin time. Then I turn around after we get all set up only to discover that they had blocked the pub... along with about every single website on the web. Oh well, I may just cave in and buy a sidekick so I can get my daily internet fix since I'm hardly ever at home

I found this INCREDIBLE stop-motion animation short today at a site called Atom Films, where up & coming filmmakers can host their work. I only found it as my brother is putting something up there and I came across this while looking for his. Anyone with broadband and an interest in all things 17th century owe it to themselves to check out this film: The Periwig-Maker It's about a wig maker who is stuck in his shop during the Great Plague in 1665. He forms this quirky non-verbal relationship with a girl trapped in her home across the street. The narration is by Kenneth Branaugh, and the quality of the set, characters, and especially lighting all create one of the …

I have kept this a secret since October until things were finalized. I was asked back then if I wanted to play the part of King Richard the 1st (Lionheart) in an upcoming cable History Channel Documentary called "Secrets of the Koran". Of course I jumped at the opportunity. This is a 2 hour documentary on the Koran or "Qu'ran" and its religious history. The first hour is pretty much all about the Koran and Muslim religion with all the ins and outs of it. The second hour adds the introduction of Christianity to it and the clash of both. This includes the first 3 crusades. I am playing the King in the third crusade period during the time and clash with Saladin. Earlier in…

Is anyone else having problems with this website? When I click onto a page, topic, profile, whatever, it takes FOREVER for the page to download. When I say forever, it is actually taking around 30 seconds for the page to come up. This seems to have only started within the last day or so and my computer has no other problems with any other web pages. I do have a high speed server and other websites come to my computer with no problem. It is just the Pyracy.com that is so slow. I am hoping it is not just my computer but I do not see any complaints posted to this problem.

First of all, this is my 2nd attempt to type this. The spyware hit me when I tried to post it, ARGH!!!! I have tried all different scans, Spy Bot, Ad-Aware, McAffee scans and so on. It's not getting rid of the problem. What happens is I'll go to click a link and instead of getting the next page I'll get an all white screen with a black bar across the top. It says, "please visit our sponsers..." and then re-directs to some ad. I have to quickly hit the back button or it gets stuck. It has froze and I had to reboot. My uncle, who's a computer engineer, can't check it out until some time tomorrow. If anyone has advice that I haven't tried I'm all for giving it …

Get yer mind outta the bilge, hearties! I have a friend who's going to be recouperatin from a bad infection in his hand (aquarium-related, some scary tropical bacteria). He almost lost his hand, but thank god the doctors were able to get the infection under control in time. Anyway, since he's halfway accross the country and I won't be seeing him until April, I thought I'd start sending him some movies to keep him occupied during his recouperation. He's me list so far: Moonstruck Kingpin Dr. Strangelove Goldfinger Peter Pan The Fugitive I thought of The Machinist, but it's a little dark .... can ye think of any others, following the theme I'm after? …

Fresh from the shower, a woman stood in front of the mirror complaining to her husband that her breasts were too small. Instead of characteristically telling her that it's not so, he uncharacteristically came up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then everyday take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds." Willing to try anything, she fetched a piece of toilet paper and stood in front of the mirror, rubbing it between her breasts. "How long will this take,” she asked. "They will grow larger over a period of years", her husband replied. She stopped. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts …
