Just saw the new site and hotel.. looks so much larger and lots more space for people. The ballroom is huge! Unfortunately, the merchants areas were a little packed in 2007, but this looks like it will be bigger and better. Bravo for RF 2009! The only thing I will miss is the waterpark. We didn't get to take it over as pirates and keel-haul someone. :) just talked to LadyB about rooming together there again. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and she won't have issues stopping her.

posting this here, NOT because its piratecon only related, but because more of you might need to know this.. This didnt happen at a piratecon event, but it did happen at N'Orleans. Tis better to be safe and check on what charges you have on your cards after traveling! Graydog had his credit card cloned. I did buy a length of nylon rope, just in case but I'll call Strinz about what they use. I only need 4 ropes with adjusters for the awning and I dont want to get hit with shipping. Iron Jon, agreed on the sisal. I don't like to use it since it breaks off in skin. The Manila I saw at Menards and Lowes isn't too great but it would look period. The frame of mind I was in (ANOTHER store that I have to look for rope at!!) I was looking at the camo and thinking.. that could work!

I was wondering if any one knew what un-manilla rope was.. the strinz tents use that and it gets soft and (nicely) dirty after a while.. I would apprecate what you use as ropes on your tents

going to rain here again, and its already at flood stage. Much more of this and the roads into the faire will be closed and some peeps will have problems. The other night, we got 5 inches of rain. I'm not tan, I'm rusty.

I dont like the big knot in the back, so I cheat and use the clear hair ties you can find for 200 for $2 or so.. makes it neat and keeps it tight, because its clear you dont see it.. and all without losing an eye to popage. :)
