  1. Rusty Nell Said, "And how'd you like to meet this bunny in a dark alley!"

Awwww!!! There is something about a Flemish Giant Rabbit that just makes you want to cuddle them to death. I liken it to a dog, but with no barking.

Lovely picture, Rusty Nell. Let's name him...Flem or better yet...Loogie!

    March 15, 2009

    Ahoy Crewe,

This is just a reminder that we have a 1 day event on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The Milwaukee Art Museum sponsors ‘Family Sundays’ and on Sunday, we step back in time to the mid-to-late 17th Century to the time of the Dutch Master, Jan Lievens.

The day will be filled with ‘drop-in’ workshops, a treasure hunt (with treasure) and music and prize!

So, mark your calendars for a family fun-filled event. For more information please click on the link above or contact me via PM Thank you.

  3. I guess that means we get to see the rest of the 500 photos, or are those your private blackmail stash?

Well...500 was an over guestimated number after looking at some of the shots. I did delete the blurry shots, blacked out shots, mis-directed shots (floor/feet), out of focus shots, duplicated shots...it came out to be more like 300 or so.

And yes, there were shots that did not make it to the website due to content and may be

misconstrued. Therefore, they did not make the website.

  4. So Cheeky why are you waiting to post the pictures you took? trouble with your computer again? shall I help?

    Thank you Captain.

Yes, tons of download issues, corrupted file codes and now some of the changes, deletions and additions were not being saved. I hope that I have them resolved now.

  5. Ah Lady B, but I am older than ye... I remember a day when a lass's hair was done up proper without any encumbrance... mighty handsome was my Tess, with soft blond curls a ribbon or two and little else.

    Don't encourage him, Lady B!

Captain...may I remind you that Tess, your saintly wife was a redhead...and had a temper to show for it too.

  6. Lily....you look EXACTLY like I do today. In PJ pants. Hair pulled up. Sewing a project on the couch.

Are you watching Star Wars too?!?!?!?!

hehe. No this is a job for the Lord of the Rings, extended version.

I'm working on a sewing project as well (my first, and thererfor NOT Stays) and I've been watching Big Love - Season 1. hee!

Well, Ladies...I guess we have a theme going here...

Sat at the computer all day and watched "The Last King" ...again! Love this movie though...

  7. Mistress Alexander,

If this set of stays works wonderfully enough, have you considered making a proper pattern template out of Oak Tag (gee, I hope that is the right term)? This was a wonderful idea that Mother Rose suggested not too long ago.

Then you can make as many as you fancy!

  8. Amazing work, Mistress Alexander! Lovely job indeed.

Mother Rose has her hands full this weekend. She is...ahem...instructing a lovely young gal from the Mass. Bay settlement this weekend. Claims to be the Govern's daughter...of all things!

  9. WHY ALL OF THE MARRIED INTO THE FAMILY FOLKS WERE COUSINS OF EACH OTHER BUT NOT US SO IT WAS LEGAL. HOW LUCKY WAS THAT!!!! THE WHOLE VILLAGE IS PROUD OF OUR FAMILY. THEY POINT US OUT TO VISITORS AND SAY THERE IS THE STRAIGHTEST AND STRONGEST FAMILY TREE YOU EVER DID SEE WHY ITS AS STRAIGHT AND TALL AS A PINE. WHY WE HAVE LOTS OF BIG TALL PINES HERE.

Oh My Gosh! Syren's right...It's Late 17th Century Jerry Springer Show!

  10. An' she bein' a Lady of stature... if she dressed in yo'r attire... there would be some wonderin' "what th' bleedin' hell?" I think it odd that Mistress Lily would be galavantin' about in yo'r clothin'. Then again, that may leave ye naked!

Hmmm, now there is a thought, Lady B. To wear the habit of our good Captain?!....Yes, I could do "The Mad Dane of Denmark" or perhaps...MacBeth!" What a clever Lady you are!

  11. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, cause I'm making another pair of stays. This time around, I'm using burgundy wool. First I had to modify my pattern a little. I took off 1/2" from the back piece and 1/2" from the side. This meant I had to adjust the arm hole slightly. I also made an adjustment to the neckline to prevent the dreaded strap flipping.

Here is the pattern with boning channels drawn in. (Not that in means anything right now but I like to plan ahead).

Nice, Mistress Alexander. Is this the Corset Generator pattern or something else?
