I had ordered my boyfriend a Long John Silver resin figurine for Christmas. He's nuts about pirates and he just got Treasure Island on DVD and I found a figurine and thought he'd really like it. Well, I ordered it from Captain's Cove. They didn't have any in stock and can't get any more. Does anyone know where I might still find one? Sorry for the boring-ness of this post. I'm not fluent in pirate-speak yet.

So am I the only one knee-deep in me piratical fabrics at th' moment? It seems I'll never get t' the bottom of it all, then again, may'aps I don' wanna! I figured I'd share a table with those that're slavin' over their machines an' see what we're all makin'. Pirate wares are good, others I'm 'appy t' take as well. My latest bit is addin' some stripes onto me very rough an' tumbled pirate jacket front..it needs 'em as well on the sleeves, but I'm pressed for time as it bloody well is with all sorts o' stuff. Wanna try to touch up a few items for Ojai if at all possible. I won' even touch Halloween. My bloody word...

Hello All!!! I am a newbie to pyrate reenactment and have been scouring the web for goodies. I came across this website: http://www.geocities.com/ancasta1/uniform.htm it has three interesting period patterns for a man's late 16th early 17th century dress coat, the same coat with pagoda sleeves (this one really rocks my boat!!) and a full sleeved waistcoat. There is also a link to a website that describes in detail how to size these period patterns. On exploring further I was hooked up with other sites that dealt with perios sewing techniques and fabrics...a real treasure trove of info. Presented for your pleasure, and I hope you enjoy!!! Eric :)

Good e'ening, mates! Just wanted to let ye know that I've recently found some great jewelry that would be suitable to the pyrate attire. Because of Pirates of the Caribbean being such a hit (and rightly so, may I add!), coin *everything* has come "into style." Target and Mervyns has a few whole lines (made by Xhilirations, and a couple of other brand-names) that carry coin earrings, necklaces with silver, bronze, and gold layered with coins, bronze rings... that sort'o stuff. If I have time later, I'll upload a few shots (I sorta went nuts with my recent cash fun, y'see... and thus have acquired quite a bit o' new plunder... *blush*). Just thought I'd letya know! It r…

...is now available as a trade paperback at a very reasonable price. See http://whydah.com/store/product_info.php?p...1ea0d022d565e7e The book tells the story of undersea explorer Barry Clifford's discovery of a shipwrecked French fleet and several pirate shipwrecks at a coral reef off the coast of Venezuela. But the bulk of the book goes into the wave of pirates, buccaneers and filibustiers who infrested the West Indies for a decade thereafter. Regards, Corsair
