Was checking out the wizkids website on more Pirates of the Spanish Main & Crimson Coast info... only to see another will be available in June! Pirates of the Revolution 3rd series in this constructable strategy game... focusing more on the American side... with some added twists like new events & more! Hehehe... I say ... I was watching my favorite cable channel (Cartoon Network, natch. ) and I saw an advert for a new line of Bratz dolls called Bratz Treasures. Apparently piracy has finally graduated from the realm of die hard re-enactors and 8 year old boys to the realm of Tweener girls. Or maybe it's just that Orlando Bloom and Gwen Stefani have done turns as pirates and the impressionable idol-worshipping crowd's interest has been caught.

I was in Las Vegas in November and made it a point to check out the Treasure Island casino. They had this free show in front of the casino that was pretty cool. It involved a moving ship, pyrotechnics and a bunch of lusty guys hungering for a crew of piratess "sirens" on another ship. Even more amazing...it was about 35º and the guys on the moving pirate ship had the unenviable task of jumping into the water and swimming about 30 yards or so to the Siren Ship. And then they got out of the water and had to do their act soaking wet! (I hope they're paid well...) I remember catching this back in the 80's when it came out. Charlton Heston played Long John, and if I remember correcty, Richard Burton was Billy Bones (?) I'd LOVE to find a copy of this, as I thought it was very well done, just like Teds movie adaptation of the Shaara Civil War novels. Anyone else remember this one fondly?

I know a few out there have posted getting them... But.. I'd figured making this more.. "Official" I'M LOVING IT! A pirate friend of mine got it for me... & it's just fabulous! Alas, the Master Replicas site if down for the moment... but.. it's available in various places... I have yet to find it around here. I wear it all the time. Just read in the paper here, that the sequel to Peter Pan is getting under way and that the writer has been chosen. Apparently there was a story contest of sorts to see who or even if anyone could be found to write the show. The first movie I ever recorded off of TV was a 80's movie with Christopher Atkin and Kristi McNichol in 'The Pirate Movie'. I collect what most people think of as really bad movies (The pride of my collection is the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton in Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band on DVD - awful movie, I love it) I have been looking for The pirate movie on DVD (i'll settle for tape if I have to) but all I can find online are overseas DVDs which won't work on my DVD player. I've been running a Skull and Bones campaign that has lost players to real life issues over time. I'm down to two players right now and only one of them is an active participant, which owing to the scope of the setting makes for a boring game. I've been looking for new players in my area, but no one seems to have heard of the game. Am I the only one that bought this book?
