Happy Father's Day from Blackbead!! In honor of all of ye male pirates who have children: Dad, Ye Be Me Favorite Pirate Dad, ye be me favorite pirate: Ye taught me all I need to know, From how to keep me cutlass clean To where the Trade Winds blow. You showed me how to tie me kerchief So that it stays upon me head, And you taught me how to use a knife To pick the weevils from me bread. You schooled me in me navigatin’, How to guide me ship by a star, And ye taught me how to talk like a pirate: When it’s really correct to say “arrrr!” Dad, ye be me favorite pirate, And there’s only one thing more to say: Not only do I thank ye with all of me heart But I’l…

the last few days I was getting an error message when I tried to access the Pyracy Pub, I tried different browsers, but no mater what I did, it came up as an error message, no other sites I visit were likewise affected. Was it only me that had this problem? What happened, did we get boarded?

Ahoy mates, I would like to introduce myself as the wench FLmermaid. My captain and I make berth in Florida on our 41 foot Morgan sailboat. We are new to the pirate festival circuits but loved Pirates in Paradise '07 and Pyratecon in New Orleans. We've enjoyed the company of many new mates and look forward to PIP '08 and Tybee Island this fall. We plan on sailing into St. Augustine port and anchor off of the fort mid-June to enjoy the "Bilge Rats". I just wanted to say hello and hope to meet others in Florida who sail under the Black Flag. ...and Black Rory enters the tavern. He looks a bit tired and ragged, constantly avoiding the Royal Navy, but glad to be back to what is the closest thing to home. In the sack over his shoulder are his pennywhistles, his ukelele, his squeezebox, his clacking bone sticks... The landlady is surprised to see him and stops wiping the counter. He looks back at her expectantly with fear and hope. She gives him a warm smile. "Is she still here?" asks Black Rory. "Was she taken from me? I know she's not that fond o' the sea like me'self..." The landlady answers, "Not over me dead body. She is safe and has been waiting for your caresses." "And what of the sword-wield…

A statuesque lass enters the pub with some trepidation and is greeted by the sociable barkeep whose efforts far exceed the necessity of his position. “Wat’ll it be lass?” he promptly asks as his rag sloshes past her and puddles the leavings on the bartop. The stranger scans the room but she evades an immediate reply. “Yer new ‘ere” the pub’s purveyor declares scanning her well crafted wardrobe for means to pay. “Aye, goode sir,” sheepishly comes her reply “Fearghaill . . . Aurora Fearghaill, ya may know mah ’usband. . . Alder, tha carpenter?” With a grin, a nod, Ray asks again, this time in a gesture of open hand across to the offerings that line his shelves. Som…

http://lamag.com/featuredarticle.aspx?id=7016 I'll be honest: I didn’t follow all the Disney rules. I played Jack like he was real, and if a woman flirted, I would flirt back. Women loved it. But there were also women who would have too many beers at California Adventure or smuggle in alcohol you could smell on their breath, women who were clearly sloshed. Here’s a napkin someone wrote on for me: “I will give you a xxxx xxx on your break, so sexy! Kim—714-XXX-XXXX.” I would also get offers from women in my ear: “Anything you want, just find me.” I had a girl who had turned 18 the day before. She was with a high school group, and she wrote down her room number at the Dow…

I travel to a lot of reenactments, but I don't go to very many pirate festivals/ren fairs. I know there are more differences than just the clothes. At most events there's an admission fee, no matter how you're dressed. If it's a camping event, there may be a camping fee and if you're selling there, you might have a vendor fee. I run a pirate event and the state sponsorship has been, shall we say "borrowed" by our fine governor to put into roads. (How far is $1000 going to go to repairing roads? It would be put to better use paying for a pirate weekend!) So what I want to know is: What are the highest and lowest camp fees you pay and of what type? For example: As a…
