With the economic downfall at an all time high lots of kids are going without gifts this year. So make sure you do your part at putting smiles on those kids faces and make a donation to your local Toys For Tots, even if it's a dollar store toy they won't tell the difference, it's the thought that counts and I'm sure they will be so happy to get something this year.

Having been fed up with the politics, the back stabbings, and the double standards that have run rampant since the inception of the Northwest Arkansas Renaissance Faire; I have resigned my position as one of the few remaining founding Board members and pulled my Stage Show from this show until and unless the owner gets rid of the hanger-ons that are dragging this show into the pig troughs! When I'm told that actors and stage shows should not be paid for their hard work, skills, talent, and efforts and that they are not as important as vendors ... that is when it is time to walk away before I throttle someone! Be warned! Stay away from NWARF in Fayettville, Arkansas unl…

Pyrates, lets bring in the new year with a bang! Be safe, have fun and don't drink all the rum. Post pictures of your new year! It would be nice to see how others celebrate it!

Since my boat isnt historical I figured I'd post this here. I just bought a small sailboat from my brother in law and for $50 I couldn't complain. I'll try to find some pictures in a bit. The boat is about 10 feet long, I guess it would be called a dinghy? It has the hole for the boom but no jib. I'll been searching online but everything Im finding is for bigger boats. So this is a list of the things I'm looking for - Boom - Main Sail - Rigging - Rudder The boat seats 1 maybe 2 people. Thanks for any help

I was chatting with someone offline about pets and I told him that I would resurrect the Pets thread around here and...well. It appears ol' Caraccioli has been made a fool of (yes again). The pets thread was deleted when they decided to clean up this one horse forum. So I thought I'd restart the stupid thing. (Not that I am bitter.) So here is a picture of my miserable, sullen, misogynistic housemate Pinky. She is named for the rat in Pinky and the Brain. (Note the surly, patronizing look.)

Hello, I have posted on here before on behalf of Capt Scurvy, or as most of you know him Chris Suttle. It has been my pleasure to work with Chris for over 4 years now and I have never met a more generous or caring person. As a Pirate the kids and adults love his storytelling and have enjoyed his performances as Blackbeard immensly over the past 11 years. As a "normal" he has been involved with numerous local charities and a strong advocate for autism in Raleigh NC. As some of you know, he had to have back fusion surgery in July. Since then the doctors have found problems with both his hips and his ankle now. He is facing numnerous surguries and due to this has been…

They say old dogs can't learn new tricks but they disproved that on Mythbusters so I'm 24 years old and I never learned how to swim. I understand the basic concept, I've seen videos but I dont know what I'm doing wrong. I love the water, the ocean, I want to own a boat and I think if I'm going to buy and live on a sailboat I should learn how to swim. Here is the kicker, I can swim for about 10 feet then I get tired and sink, I can't float on my back and I don't know how to wade so in order for me to even attempt to swim I have to be able to touch the bottom. Also I know how to snorkel, love it been doing it for years but as soon as my head comes above the water I start …

It's a small apartment... maybe double the space of the…

So, first off I'm happy to be back on the forums. I was getting a little home sick, you guys are like the family I never had, hoopla! This summer and fall has been pretty eventful for me, none of it good really. seem like when you work your way to the top the devil is there to drag you back down. First thing that happened, lost my job. I was working as a Lab Tech for an eyeglass center making glasses in the career field of health care. It was a nice gig, plan on going down that career path still. The place I was working for ended up getting new management and they thought it would be cheaper to fire me and my lead, close the lab down and move the work to GA. It was a l…

My wife and I are (finally) planning our honeymoon/ anniversary. We believe we have the area narrowed down we would like to visit (Yucatan Peninsula), but are semi-unclear of what to do next. It seems that 'all-inclusive' resorts have the best bang for the buck, but when we read the reviews on various websites (tripadvisor.com) these 'pristine beachfront resorts' become modern day hell on earth, as judging by some of the reviews. 5 star hotels are described as Hollywood Blvd pay-by-the-hour motels. A search, then, into accommodations and then paying for our own meals, etc, place the cost of the trip nearly out of reach. So our questions: What do you look for in a…

I have had an uneasy feeling about the direction our country has been taking on Taxes, Wars, Health care, Bail outs, The treatment of our savings in the form of 401 ks and the ever increasing encroachment of government into our private lives thru spying on its own citizens.. Or passing a $787 billion stimulus package without even reading it.! I vote but it seems not enough and simply being an Arm Chair General yelling at or making comments to my television is no longer passe' for me .So I attended my first politically motivated rally called The Tea Party Express. It is a relatively new movement of fed up Americans who wish to make a stand against the aforementioned a…

Yeah.... this should go into "what are you reading right now"... But I just started reading "Maya Cosmogenesuis 2012" So far, it's only talking about the sun rising from a really interesting place on December 21st 2012.... hopefully it will start to explain how the World ends with earthquakes and tidal waves and alla that interesting stuff kinda soon.... Anyway.... I'm thinking what a cool party it could be..... I have to read more of the book, to figure out where would be the best place to be (somewhere in Mexico, maybe) But heck... if the World doesn't end, and the calender just starts all over again...(remember the disappointment surrounding alla the hype about Y2K? …
