Wanted to share a website my doctor just turned me on to. I've been a minor yo-yo'er where my weight is concerned. However I have never had the struggle with weight that I've had the last 5 years. Sure I've gained a bit here and there, and lost a bit here and there, but NOW I need to loose almost 60lbs. Its been a bit overwhelming these days. I have to admit I haven't been motivated and I have been living in denial. I have been a bit delusional about what it takes these days to get the weight off, verses what it used to take to shed the pounds. Age is a bitch. Anyway....I started using this website today. I am already amazed at how quickly I've learned how easy its be…

Today is the patronal feast day of St. George, patron of England, slayer of dragons and all-around excellent fellow. Raise a glass of the good, nut-brown ale in George's memory and punch a Spaniard, if convenient.

Okay you are at the Faire or doing some living history event, perhaps at a movie premire and you have an encounter that just makes your decade. After said encounter you think to yourself "Yup, that's why I dress up as a pirate!" The moment need not be with a non-pirate or patron. It could be something you shared with friends or between fellow pirates. It could be a romantic tryst or a funny adventure. Drunk or sober tell me your tale!

This has been making the news all over, it's so awesome! Susan Boyle is a contestant on the show Britains Got Talent, it's the British version of America's Got Talent. Everyone already judged Susan before she started to sing on looks alone. Then she sang and surprised everyone with her beautiful voice. I love it so much, it's amazing, you go girl! Here's the you tube clip of Susan singing "I dreamed a dream" from the musical Les Miserables. It's such a great and fun to sing, I myself have sung it in music class. Enjoy the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

Grilling tip As every Southerner knows, come spring it will be time to get ready for that all-important cooking technique of the south --- outdoor grilling! I have just found out there are many stores (not just in the South) where you can get a FREE Bar-B-Q grill! In these tough times free useful items are very welcome. You can get a free BBQ grill from any of the following stores: A&P Albertsons Costco Dan's Food Lion Fry's HEB Home Depot Big Lots Brookshire's Lowes Publix Safeway Sam's Club Tesco Target United Supermarket Vons Trader Joe's Wal-Mart Winn-Dixie I especially like the higher rack -- which can be used for …

During the Summer, this Pirate lives, eats and breathes Baseball. This morning, the starting pitcher for last nights game for the Anaheim Angels, was killed in an accident with a hit and run driver. Hours earlier, he had pitched 6 scoreless innings in his first start for the Angels. He was considered one of the top prospects in the major leagues Yeah, they caught the guy but... 2 other people were also killed. Nick Adenhart was only 22 years old and had a limitless future ahead of him. I am so bummed.

I have a question for the ladies that wear these gypsy "skirts" thingies with the dangling coins on them. Now those things have to catch just about every piece of cloth that gets near them so I'm asking if you all understand this. This weekend at the con I was in the main bar during a pirates charles set. Many pirates were packed into the place and dancing was plentiful, mostly by ladies wearing this gypsy attire. I squeeze by one lady and my vest got caught on a coin and pulled the lady back toward me as we walked in opposite directions. She shot me the dirtiest, meanest look I have seen in a long time and had this disgusted look on her face. When I tried to explai…

US Crew Overpowers Pirates on ShipBy KATHARINE HOURELD, AP Kenya (April 8) -- The American crew of a hijacked U.S.-flagged cargo ship retook the vessel Wednesday from the Somali pirates who seized it far off the Horn of Africa, Pentagon officials said. Capt. Joseph Murphy, an instructor at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, told The Associated Press that he was called by the Department of Defense and told the crew, including his son Shane, the second in command, had regained control. "Speculation is a dangerous thing when you're in a fluid environment. I will not confirm that the crew has overtaken this ship," he said. A U.S. official said the crew had retaken contro…

It's surprising that with such legal minds any pirates were ever hung THESE ARE COURT TRANSCRIPTS VERBATIM. These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place. ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact? WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks. ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active? WITNESS: No, I just lie there. ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all? WITNESS: Yes. ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory? W…

I can't see a python quote and let it go. Mostly because of how great the pythons were. So this is the thread to get your daily quote on. You can't win the game. You can't loose the game. You really can't play the game wrong. Post a quote and be an instant winner. "This game makes no sense and it doesn't go anywhere." I think they would be proud. "Wenn ist das Nunstück git und Slotermeyer? Ja! ... Beiherhund das Oder die Flipperwaldt gersput."

SYDNEY (AFP) – An Australian state is offering internationally what it calls "the best job in the world" -- earning a top salary for lazing around a beautiful tropical island for six months. The job pays 150,000 Australian dollars (105,000 US dollars) and includes free airfares from the winner's home country to Hamilton Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland's state government announced on Tuesday. In return, the "island caretaker" will be expected to stroll the white sands, snorkel the reef, take care of "a few minor tasks" -- and report to a global audience via weekly blogs, photo diaries and video updates. The successful applicant, who will stay rent-free in a…

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Saint Patrick's Day!!! Remember to drink responsibly and don't drive if you can help it! Little History on Saint Patrick, Pirates captured Patrick at the age of 16, during a raid and sold him as a slave in Ireland. During this time, Patrick dedicated himself to religion. He was a slave for 6 years, and then escaped back to his home of Britain. Patrick's experiences in Ireland made him driven by the idea of converting the Irish to Christianity. He studied in the monastery of Lerins, on an island off the southeast coast of France. Patrick also went to Auxerre, France, and studied religion under Saint Germanus, a French bishop. His religi…

Ok HOW COULD I RESIST!! in response to Patricks Man Club post. I thought it only appropriate to start this is to make sure we have equal representation and a place where we can let our hair down, since Patrick decided to start a place where boys could be boys I figured it only fair to give us a place where girls could be girls. NAKED PILLOW FIGHT!! : teee heee:------ YEAH right LOL ppppppttthththh knew you were watching ya buggers Ok girls now for OUR rules. There are none!! but we already knew that. Right girls?? So I was editing my myspace like I do and realized there isn't really a home page on the forums like we use to have. We use to have HTML links that we could put on website so people could click on them. Do we still have those anywhere? I would love to use one for my blog site and pass the word around!

I promised BlackJohn I was going to post this. Let me apologize in advance... So, I've been studying Chaos Theory lately and it got me to thinking about the workings of the human brain. Nobody is really sure how our minds work, they are sort of a black box, even to the experts. At first, I thought perhaps our minds behaved in a manner that defied mathematics. Then I realized that this takes us away from the realm of science and into the realm of mysticism. However, trusting in mysticism as an answer is a sure sign of ignorance (IMHO - feel free to take offense and write long diatribes defending mysticism. Perhaps that is what this topic is for.) So we come back to mat…

Yaaaaaar! Ok, the story is a tad long but here goes. I joined the pub as a social experiment to better understand "pirates". It was limited to 500 posts to make sure I got myself out there enough and to get to know as many people as I could while still maintaining a dead line. Long story short, You guys rock and have inspired me (in a good way) to create something all my own, a dirty, stinky, filthy pirate forum. Now I won't say what it is because (1) it looks like crap at the moment and (2) just wouldn't be nice to look like I'm "stealing" any members from here. Rest assured, my place will be for drunken riff raff that would likely upset the sweet and calm waters …
