One o me customers come ta me wit this, this very day and says "dude" (he's the owner of a clothing company on line and he works big trade shows here in the west) he says dude I need you to dress up in your pirate costume and come visit me at the boat show at the end of this month, every body there will think yer part of the entertainment and you'll get no hassles at all adding I'll leave tickets for you at the gate! So I be thinkin! What if all the boat shows all over this world we all went to in character lookin to buy a boat as a pirate? I can't think we wouldn't be any thing other than well received and the center of all childishness attention to be sure. So I figures…

January 20th. Not a reenactment, just an excuse to dress as a pirate (hell, I've even seen a Pittsburgh Pirate there), drink rum, and have fun. Any of you planning on being there?

The annual Battle of New Orleans reenactment IS going to happen! January 6, 7, and 8. Although most of the city (and St. Bernard Parish, where the battle took place) is totally devastated and will so remain for a long time: still, the French Quarter is coming back, much of Uptown and Jefferson Parish are booming, and the National Park Service and the battle reenactors are ready to do battle! Come out and root for the home team: especially Lafitte's Baratarians! Capt. William and his Pyrate Queen are on the crew! :) Capt. William

Scarlet's Mid-Winter Renaissance Faire - check out www.scarletfest.com for more info. Scarlet's has come and gone for it's fourth year and this one was a right joy to attend! The facility has a way to go but it provides all of the necessary walls, roof, bathrooms and heating necessary to make this a fun, safe, and memorable event. I was talking to one of the owners and she told me that the owner of the Historic Farmer's market has been doing well enough that he's going to put in brand new bathroom facilities! There's a real bar, dance floor and stage upstairs and that made the Masked Ball a very lively event indeed! There were over two dozen merchants, which is a liv…

For a little more info: http://www.bilgemunk...-in-sacramento/ I didn't see this marked anywhere (sorry if it was) so I'm just adding it. Not a whole lot happens in Cali around this time (or anywhere really) so it's nice to have a little pirate get away in No.Cali. For those that don't like following links, Friday begins at 7pm and ends at Midnight. Saturday is all day until Midnight. What I'm not sure about is if admission is good for both days or only one (which would be bad). Yar
