 ....GreyDog.......Is she really a Howitzer, or a six pound Napoleon?

I have to admit I didn't really pick her apart, but she did lay out a great Report....I was honored to bring the "Iron Brigade" into play along side

her. Maybe we'll have more cannon by next year...As the king said,"Is the Cannon that bring out the crowds....Iron Hand

Here's a link to the first set of pictures that were taken this past weekend.

Unfortunately for reasons unknown, all the pictures that were taken of me with Marty Klebba and that group disappeared (literally!) after downloading the camera. So I will see about re-doing them this weekend.

So here's to sunny days!

The big howizter is our 6 pounder cannon.

Yah... it's not a howitzer.... it's a 6 pounder......

But it did sound really great..........

the afternoon black powder shindig after the battle was a blast (both literally and figuratively!)

Yah... the battles were kinda "lame"...... the cannons fire twice.... then the Pyrates charge through us...... ?

But afterwards WAS a blast.........

 ....GreyDog.......Is she really a Howitzer, or a six pound Napoleon?

It is a US 1841 six pounder cannon. It is not a howitzer.

If folks would like to talk equipment spec's, we love doing that, but we are equally happy if they just enjoy that it makes a loud bang.

Please come by our setup and say hello.

Why am I sharing my opinion? Because I am a special snowflake who has an opinion of such import that it must be shared and because people really care what I think!

You know, it really is a shame that Petee can't work up any enthusiasm for an event. B)

You can do everything right, strictly according to procedure, on the ocean, and it'll still kill you. But if you're a good navigator, a least you'll know where you were when you died.......From The Ship Killer by Justin Scott.

OH, Wonderful photos of the pirate event! I love pirates, rum and Bagpipes-the best combination.

Rumba Rue, that is David P that you are kissing, not Vinnie. I don't see Vince in any pics, was he there too? Usually "the boys" are with Marty-Maxie,Vinnie, David, Isaac and Treva. Of course depending on their schedules.

As for your camera, there are free problems to recover lost pics if they were accidently deleted from your digital camera. Just in case you truly lose them all.

I don't think there will ever be a Great Lakes Pirate event. I doubt if there are any real pirates that went through this area. But it's rich in British,French and 6 Nations history.

Vince was there last weekend. He was the one who requested my rum cake and he was great helping out with our auction.

Vince is a good egg, just like the other boys. They are devoted to charity events and truly put their heart and soul in the effort. I am honored to know them all.

It's amazing how our different paths end up meeting at some point during our lifetime. I believe it's all in the big plan.
