Sure the waist coat was wrong.., the new land pattern pistols were way out ! .,no queen anne pistols at all to my surprise . Also the Lady Washington is a 1797 replica., about 77 years new., the Lynx even newer with her gaff rigging., however I must say it was alot better than reruns of "Friends". I would watch it again.,and if it were a TV show.,I would see it every week. After all it was a budget production that most people would not be able to find the faults. But a trained eye can.., and there fore will. The story was incorrect as well., Maynard was never with Teach lookin fer Kidds treaure we all no that. But is no diferant than role playing on the pub is it?., and with better toys and graphics I might add. Besides Stacy Keach is a better actor than me on the Pub anyway. But I would still take it over BareBack Mountain. This was not a documentary., as POTC2 is not either., so will everyone be as hard on the Shark pirate and Davy Jones in Disneys upcoming fantasy? I doubt it. And Disney spent a lot more on there story., and to top it off ., this was FREE and disney will charge you...., PIRATES ! I am just trying to be objective here., critisizing everything is to easy and to common aroun here..,there are a few silver clouds ya know. Icant give negative feedback to Hallmark.,because that would not make them do" a better job" It would probably they would stop doing the pirate.,thats all.,I would rather this than nothing.

I was figurin Mad Matt that Red Dog has a "Dark and Scary Body" However as you can see when in the PH I do consistantly wear my Leather tricorn as EVERYDAY habidashery .,weather I am walking thru a town or snorkeling while drinking a mixed Rhum Drink., or having my sprained wrist worked on by a very dark native.,(He used heated leaves after rubbing oil into the wrist.,then wrapped cloth over the leaves The wrist still hurt., but the locals felt better after doing it to me) . This is of course how we can do our part in bringing the tricorn back into style., as it should be. (It gets worse..., after I am living there full time., so will be my piratical attire). My wife of course., does not turn red., in the upper left corner you can see she turns to a slightly roasted brown.,and No Leather Skin., trust me Kass the wife is soft and smooth., no leather there. I am going with Red Dog on this one. I too am hip to whats happening in the tropical sun. Again we just got back from the Philippines May 7th and you do acclimate to the sun., Every year when I go I get RED then it becomes darker and thats it., When we are diving alot of deck hands actually wear what looks like underwear .,I guess a bikini for diving. Most fishermen are in shorts.,and they handle it quite well. Myself I get red., then darken., you can see it in my forearms., because I wear a shorty while diving. There isnt a 17th or 18th century sun-block that I am aware of., just get toasted.,burn peel., do it again., and soon., real soon.,you are fine., yup the human body is an awesome machine.

Maggie after having purchased 1 gun from each., Military heritage.,a sea service pistol. 2 Middlesex trading village company a Ketland trade pistol. 3 Cherrys a custom ordered Petrosoli Brass Queen Anne . 4 Loyalist Arms 1763 french flintlock. I would say to you simple is better., if you buy from a company in America., you wont need to see a gunsmith to drill your vent., that would limit you to Cherrys.,or Middlesex or Dixie. I would like to say the pedrosoli Queen anne is a better machined gun than all of the above. I love all my pistols but the Pedrosoli has the benefit of EXACTING PARTS. Pedrosoli is an italian maker thats been doing this a long time and has spent hundreds of thousands on tooling for a gun manufactoring plant., you will get a "More precision" tooled peice. with better parts inter changability in case you do need a part down the road sometime., for example a new frizzen. These parts are exacting from gun to gun....., this is the differance the others cannot identify with. This limits more expense on a gunsmith again. I would recomend buying it assembled for the 15 bux extra. Also i would buy it from Dixie., They are a large company and keep these in stock. (I waited 9 months with Cherrys) IF I were You I would buy a Queen Anne from Dixie Gun Works and then find someone to help you learn a little bit . you can use a priming flask and a 2nd flask for loading. I use GOEX 2f black powder in mine for both., they say 3f or 4f for priming because it ignites easier? Well a pedrosoli Q&A puts out plenty of spark to lite up 2f everytime. Another thing., this is a lighter and smaller gun than the others. easier to carry all day., and is still a heavy hitter at .50 caliber. Do yourself a favor., get a cleaning brush and a threaded ramrod., so you can inter change from cleaning brush to ram to worm. (A worm will retreive stuck patches ect., Whenyou buy the gun spend 30 dollars and get these cleaning items.,keep them in a small plastic tool box or something dedicated to your new Q & A . If you need help., PM me and I will give you a part No# list from Dixie for these cleaning itemsand help you do an order. Clean you toy everytime., Black Powder is corrosive to your gun. Also if you wanna see how it feels to fire kinda., you can load it with Black Powder and no ball., about a 1/4 slice of bread., this will help you get used to the smoke and the way it fires., and train you not to flinch. I think your going after the colonial topic., is only but one period in time., and colonial is about 100 years late at that., but pirates arent one time period...., pirates have been around a long time., just remember what happened to Noah...., they all made fun of 'im..., then after he got is Ark built...., they tried ta take it from eem they did. Thems was pirates that done that it was.

In my experience., you will not ever rust proof steel..,especially around a salt water enviroment. Myself I dont blue or browm., I shoot clean and oil., letting nature take its course., this'll brown and dull a bit just fine in time.,If you really must rust proof., I am having 4 cannons machined for me as we speak from a man in Idaho., small caliber cannons for my vessle., I could not afford bronze., but I wanted a raw metal without paint., My new cannons are being turned from stainless.,Surgical quality culverines., If you want to truly avoid rust., youll have to go custom from the best of metals., thats all there is in real rust proofing.

2 of the 11 in the collection., these arent much for a real garrison., but for my private sea wall., they were as much as I could swing for their part of the project, These are gonna be ALOTTA fun. *Wicked-Wicked-Grin*

The Lynx is a fairly early interpretation of Gaff rigged sails., it was somewhere in the 1797 thru 1805 era if I remember correctly., Most swivel guns ranged from., as small as 1" to 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" to 2" . Also a 2lb gun., an old english at 30" was fairly common in the GAoP for smaller vessles Rumba. This was about a 2" bore at 30" it was small enough to be swivel mounted and still large enough to be carriage mounted., its sorta in the either way class. A 4lb English Dutch or French gun was pretty much 300lb's a barrel at about 43" in length. Bronze being a little heavier. I cant tell you much about Spanish Cannons cause I dont know except about the tigres., and their a bit big for this topic. Were ya thinking about gettin some Bronze Culverines to fight of would be border's? If so try to use Grapeshot on them Rue., its not so hard on thier frame and youll be able to load the grapes fast if you make a Powder sabot.,and grapeshot pre-load pre packaged in a cloth bag. On a ship with 2 or more rows of guns., of course the big ones went low., for example., from the bottom up ., 32lbers., followed above by 24lbers followed by 16lbers., then 12's ., or say 12s then 6's ., or 24's and 12's ? Rumba a woman such as yourself really needs a row of 6 - 6lbders on each side., followed by 4 2" swivel guns on the Poop Deck., and 4- 2" swivels on the forecastle., as well as 1 naval mortar and a small forge so you can throw hot shot at their sails and set them on fire.
