The little Napoleon is sold ! Wow that was fast. I have one more to build just like it however it has 1 1/2" long trunnions and therefore will be getting a thicker set of cheeks on its carriage....., back to the shop!!

Thanks for tip Hawkyns .,I never thought about that and that IS going to be an issue escpecially in the PH with all of them . Humidity is real high there. These tompions are 1" lightly sanded and the bore is 1" I can see that they would get stuck for sure. I dont have lathe access., what do you think of shorter and using a 7/8 hardwood dowel? or should it be 3/4 ?

I dont know about Wildomar or Murrieta , but Hemet and Temecula are a bit high and dry aint they fer a pirate? A few sand rats and desert crabs out there no? ya know Lake Havasu or Elsinore may be worth a look in that direction. perhaps the Salt-n-Sea. Least wise they would allow you a boat and some surf. Your not going to be sailing in Temecula. Think of it , sailin under the london bridge on a summers eve? That could be alot of fun !

No rope or rings either as of yet., a work in progress., this one., I will be selling if anyone is interested. Itll make the same Bang as the other cannons I built (they all have the 1" bore).

Myself I use a slowmatch.,its cheaper., no-ignitor just stick-it-an-boom. But also Goex is damn near impossible to get in Washington. No-Retailers. I have to mail order it and pay a HASMAT FEE to get even a 1 pound can. Pyrodex will not fire my flintlocks., but itll do a cannon with a slowmatch. It seems there are alot of GOEX distributors on the eastern side of the Republic.,but over here out west., it seems to be all but forgotten

I sure wish ther was a reasonable supplier for cannon locks. THe percussion cap just doesnt do it for me the way the lock does. Very nice indeed.

Captain Jim., Wow !! that is super!. My best gues would be 600lbs there abouts for the metal alone depending on steel or bronze. not including the carriage. If that was parked at a fest near me I know I would be into watching the demos..,and pilferin around doin a chore or two for ya. Biker .,Interesting topic here. Yea Guam is cool. Better than Hawaii as in your dollar goes much much further. 4 or 5 days in Hawaii can get you 2-3 weeks in Guam. Also as an American you can retire there a whole helluva lot cheaper than is the U.S. I found many homes there made of concrete and G.I. Roofing (Heavy duty) for 50k.,that would compare to a 250,000 home here in the states. So something to think about for people wanting to live in the tropics without the expense. Also there are alot of WWII relics on the land as well as for the SCUBA diver. They have there own president.,however are represented in the U.S. Congress and they use U.S. currency for there $$$ it just goes alot further over there.White Sands and Bluewater ! I believe Saipan is really Japans Las Vegas and other Northern Marrianna Islands are great for diving.

If ya be in the market fer one soon LadyBarbossa I will have one finished pretty soon with an Oak carriage and a lot of brass trimmings in a month or so. I have 2 I need to get to good homes. Both have a 1" bore and are easily handled (about 50lbs total weight) 35lb barrel.

Nah!! I cant do that trick Capnwilliam. I got it from grey star industries. But I am very happy with them., Tim at grey star does a really great job casting his mold.

Capnwilliam Have you fired that Jefferson Armory yet?.., I looked at that cannon for quite a long time., that is a magnificent gun. It looks heavy in the breech and has a nice looking muzzle. I bet it packs a wallop!

Capnwilliam yes they are mine., but I dont take them personal.,they are for the resort. But they are sure fun. I sorta pickem out according to dollar fer bang.,as well as size for the location they will be placed at the Beach. At this point I think I am done., but I keep saying that I did have a certain number I needed for certain places at the resort and I have just now finished getting the last one......,but then again.,its become a problem.,hooked really. I just got another that I dont feel I need., I will be making a a nice carriage for it and then its for sale. A 1" bore Oak carriage Napoleon with Bronze trunnion caps. It should look prety sharp when its finished.
