  4. I checked out the site yesterday. The coats were nice looking and nice trim and buttons, but $400.00? Yikes! I didn't think they were worth that much....just my opinon.
  5. My condolences on your loss. Life is so short that every minute should be treasured. Just remember another star has joined the heavens.
  6. Don't trust myself with Johnny Depp? I have complete trust I will not kiss or hug him every chance I get. Now on the other hand, if it was YOU, then I don't trust myself...
  7. Well I finally found the cereal. I didn't like it with milk, so I just ate it as a snack out of the box. Three days and gone. No I'm not keeping the friggin' box. Same as with the fruit snacks, into the recycling bin. Sorry I don't need Johnny Depp all over my place. (Iron Bess, don't tell him that!)
  8. Well I admit I've held off welcoming you because I just wasn't sure about that title you've chosen. It tends to make me think you were a troll. So I waited to see how your posts were going to read. So you passed and therefore enjoy the Pub.
  9. Uh, Huntington Beach isn't close to the amusement parks at all. Well wait, there's the gals in bikinis at the beach....
  10. Red ain't it. Makes for easy target.
  11. Well this talk of interesting swords has brought me to bring this up. I have in my possesion two sword canes (yes they are illegal in Calif.) that were given to me by a good friend years ago. They are clearly made in India. I'm curious as to when something like this might have come into being and/or being used? My guess is Victorian, but I could be wrong. Anyone care to discuss the sword cane?
  12. I agree with everyone here. That kind of act between men would have been very hushed and not openly portrayed. As you know das, we discussed this about the Hornblower episode with Capt. Sawyer. I as many did, do believe that the man would have taken a male as his consort. But to speak of it openly would have never happened. Though I have no doubt that some of the crew might have guessed it. Funny how women together with women are pretty much ok, but men with men is not. I don't understand the reasoning behind this thinking.

  14. I think I remember you saying you worked for the police dept.? I don't know what aspect (though you seem to be on the computer to here a lot), but I do know that jobs at the police depts. here are always looking for good guys. Unfortunately living in So.Cal. is far more expensive than Arizona.
  15. Ugh, something definately is wrong with my 'system'. I came down ill again over the weekend and it's getting to be real problem. Gads, I was seriously ill just not two weeks or less ago, now again? I've tried to figure out what's causing it. I think it might have to do with chocolate. Prior to getting ill so often, I've had a fair amount of chocolate in one form or another. SO I've now decided to do away with anything with chocolate in it and see if that helps clear up the problem. In any case, I'm feeling better, but not great.
  16. First, I am moving this to Rabble Rousing where it's more likely to be read. As much as I would love to make a wise crack about this I won't. The reality is, it will take several hundred thousands of dollars to purchase a decent sailing vessel. The price is eqivalant to the cost of buying a house or more. The up keep is also very expensive and will take a large income to maintain the vessel. The main reason why vessels like the Royalist, The Lady Washington, The Lynx, The Californian, (of course these are ships on the west coast, but the east coast is the same), is they give sailing ventures to the public who pay for the event. That money helps maintain the vessel and keeps a small crew around. But also it helps to have had a sound source for money to begin with. Whether it be earned by hard work, or inheritated by a wealty family person, it is not a venture entered into with a blindfold across the eyes.
