  1. Thank you, Callenish! Precisely the image I was thinking of ~ Silkie is so beautiful in that outfit ~ And thank you for the compliments, Captain Midnight!
  2. Good Afternoon! Patrick, was that a request? Captain Pogue, attached is a photo of myself aboard the Liberty Clipper at PiP 2007, wearing my riding habit. I must advise ~ I flourish in 90 degree heat and high humidity. My hands are typically ice if the temperature is below 75. The riding habit coat and petticoat is wool (with a linen lining for the coat) with a sleeveless dress waistcoat, stays, linen chemise, linen petticoat, linen pockets, stockings, cravat and sash. Yes, that is 10 items of clothing for a riding habit ~ not including shoes or hat, gloves, belt, etc. If your dearest wife has a normal or warm constitution, with intent to participate in summer weather events, I would advise her to consider a linen mantua instead, cutting her layers down to 7 (mantua, stays, pockets, 2 petticoats (outer petticoat and white), chemise, stockings). I will see if Silkie can post her lovely green outfit ~ really a beautiful ensemble, and if Cheeky can post her common and dress mantuas.
  3. To all the Wonderful New Friends we have made, and the Dear Old Friends we were able to see again ~ Wishing you all a wonderful year, and all the time you need to prepare for PiP 2008! Eegads! There's only 338 days left! HURRY!
  4. Yes, though I have now seen it spelled 3 different ways! Not sure of the spelling myself, I used fagot, as spelled here: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fagot stitch The stitching would be $15 additional.
  5. Very nicely done, Mr. Bagley! A fine looking kit, indeed.
  6. Hold for a moment.... I like Mary as a bunny....Pyrate. **sly smile** BUT! At Port Washington, ealier this year, I was allowed the honour of escorting her in the parade and I might say that she is quite stunning in Period adornments. Every bit pleasing to the eye and her interaction with the crowds was top notch. Her smile, enough to make every cat in Cheshire envious. Hmmm, I thought the crowd was enamored of youself, my Dear! A dashing and debonaire companion, I was most pleased to be on your arm ~
  7. Well, Thank You! It has been a Fantastic year, and I really love my new Riding Habit. Now, onto the Ball Gown!
  8. Oh! I do so wish I could attend ~ I saw the seminar posted while researching Sea Chests and Mission's Medicine Chest. Let me gather my thoughts, and I will pm you.
  9. I hope everyone has enjoyed a lovely Holiday ~ As promised (though a tad late, due to said Holiday), I have posted photos in the original post of the Linen Shirt. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you have any questions. YHS, Mary Diamond
  10. Yay! More sun to come, every day now. Sunny smiles to everyone, may joy fill your holidays, knowing the peace and hope that waits just around the corner.
  11. Yah.... how is a good honist Sailor suposed to get any sleep when Evil Pyrate hunters keep sprinkling them wit water...... Let alone, when you finally stumble back to camp, expecting everyone to be asleep ~ and find more than half are Awake and telling the most fantastic and hilarious tales! At 2 in the morning, this is quite refreshing for we night owls ~
  12. Heyyyyy, how'd that happen? Thanks for taking care of them!
  13. I KNEW someone was going to catch that! The truth is, I had had virtually no sleep while at PiP! Eating was also secondary. So, the photo was taken just after I had a lovely roast beef sandwich, and a cold Pepsi, and was relaxing in the cool breeze on a magnificent ship, the Liberty Clipper, on a perfect sunset cruise. The first image ~ well, what do you expect? I was playing pirate in Key West, and I had just fired a gun for the first time! and the second time and the third time
  14. Good Morning, Toxicadia, and Welcome! If you don't mind my inquiring, where in New Zealand? My husband and I absolutely love it there, and are hoping to return someday soon. Though, truth be told, your roads are the most twisty we have seen in the world! Absolutely horrific if you are in a hurry.
  15. Oh, Come Now, Captain's Jim and Sterling! You met Commodore Swab at PiP ~ not even a little good-natured banter about his name? Your new moniker is perfectly fitting, my Dear! Commodore Swab is just that ~ he swabbed the Commodore's cannons in his red breeches and white shirt, and was chastised for bleeding on the mortar.
  16. The rosary? Yes, one of my favorite pieces!
  17. Watch out, Pirates! William "Quick Draw" Wacom is on the loose again!
  18. Ah! Very well, William. Shall I consider the measurements the same from year to year?
  19. OH! Love the sequence ~ Really great ideas! I am particularly fond of the photos of you in the armor with your brother, though ~ Watch Out for the Marines!! Really, truly, I forgot about the "damsel" shot ~ and, no, you will have to pry my gold and jewels from my cold, dead fingers before you see me drop the jewel box!
  20. Good Afternoon! I hope to have images of the shirts ready to post by the end of this weekend. I will append them to the modified First Post. Please Note that the Measurements Required are Neck, Wrist and Chest. YHS, Mary Diamond
  21. Finally, with Great Thanks to William Red Wake, the transition unveiled ~ 2006 Pirates in Paradise 2007 Pirates in Paradise, Aboard the Liberty Clipper
  22. Mmmm, that he is indeed ~ I do Love Him so!
  23. YAY!!! Thank You Thank You Thank You, William! I do love seeing photos of my photo-phobic hubby, even when he is not feeling his best (he was suffering from an ear infection, which wasn't thought to be a problem until we were on the ship! His equilibrium was about one and a half waves off.) WONDERFUL photos!! Thank you for catching me "full length" ~ without a mirror, I had no idea how I looked in the finished kit, as I literally was sewing buttons on Friday at PiP! Oh, and BTW ~ Hubby likes the Wet Chemise/Flowered Underthings photo
  24. Oh my Goodness! Amanjira, you Matched the Pattern on your WaistcoatPockets? You, sir, are a Tailor I hold in Great Esteem!
