Well done! I like the way everything has come together ~ nice choices! The only comments I would make are: Why does your hat sparkle? Perhaps it is a trick of the light? and, For some reason (perhaps it is the shine), your shoes still look like dress shoes. Perhaps a deglaze on the leather? Good Job!

I love the sheer ingenuity and creativity shown by so many of the Pub Members ~ and you are just such a one! Lovely job on the shoes ~ I am just learning about leatherwork, and really like the stain effect. It reminds me of my oiled leather hat ~

Amazing. I love the compass. I love the floor. And I would especially love to see the patrons of your fyne establishment, and their bemused expression when they look upward to the second floor window, and see your swivel gun. Well Done!

Well Done, and so nice to see the transformation ~ You have cultivated the image of a capable seaman quite well, and should be applauded for your efforts. Setting aside Hollywood is not always an easy thing to do!

My Dear Salty, I do indeed have a pair of the Women's Size 9 Buckle Shoes available. I typically wear an 8.5, and the 9 fits comfortably with a heavy sock. Ladies Leather Boots are also available, though I would require additional orders to meet the minimum order (a service charge applies when the minimum is not met). YHS, Mary

Lovely detail! I say, however, look at the buttonhole work! Looks almost machine done, it does.

Permission granted! Though, in truth, there are finer photos of the Archangel crewe to be had through Rats! I will alert him to your need ~ -

As mentioned above ~ Interested parties should notify me of their preferred shoe size, and pm or email me with their contact information.

A Pub member kindly contacted me regarding the Buckle Shoes and Sizing. I have since measured the shoes I have on hand, and post the measurements below, to better assist anyone interested. Measurements are made from the widest part of the foot (across the ball of the foot) and from toe to heel, and are minus the eighth inch sole on each side of the foot to give a more accurate representation. Please note that I have done the best I can, but the dimensions should be considered good approximations, as they are external measurements. Mens Size S (8-9) 3 3/4"W 11"L Size M (10-11) 3 7/8"W 11 1/2"L Size L (12-13) 4"W 12"L XL - My apologies, I do not have one on hand to measure Ladies Size 6 3 3/8"W 9 1/2"L Size 7 3 1/2"W 9 7/8"L Size 8 3 5/8"W 10 1/8"L Size 9 3 5/8"W 10 3/8"L YHS, Mary

UPDATES! Please, Harry, fill us in! How are the plans going? -
OH! It is beautiful! I prefer a simple style, but the knotwork is lovely, as well.

As a follow up to my Reasonably Priced Buttons , I humbly offer Reasonably Priced Buckle Shoes and Leather Bucket Boots. My Ladies Size 9 buckle shoes (I wear an 8.5) Available in Black, with Silver Buckles, a trial pair were worn by an Archangel crewe member for an entire long weekend at a juried event, with no complaint. Quality construction is of Faux Leather (that is to say, polyurethane, commonly used for low cost and costume shoes, such as those from PayLess Shoe Source). The shoes feature a dress tread (moderate traction). Available in Men's Sizes S 8-9, M 10-11, L 12-13, XL 14, and Women's Sizes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (the same shoe, just sized accordingly). The shoes run a little small, so I recommend the next size up to accomodate socks and a nice gel sole. You will require a shoe horn to put the shoe on, due to the long tongue. For comfort, an elastic band is hidden under the buckle. Price per new, unworn pair is $35 plus S&H (Estimated $8 from Chicago to Utah, to give you an idea). I also Offer (gasp!) Leather Bucket Boots, in Brown or Black. These are 100% pig leather uppers, with an unfolded length from heel to top of 27". Price per pair is $65 **Edit: Due to a Distributors Increase (as of February 27, 2008), I must unfortunately raise the Leather Bucket Boot price to $85** plus S&H. Dog not included. Interested Parties may post here, or contact myself directly. YHS, Mary

Men will be boys ~

It is a bit hard to tell from the photo, but, from what I can see, your complexion, hair color, and the strong reddish tones in your holster would steer me away from red. A strong complimentary color would be green, of which I would recommend a mossy green, not hunter, which is too loud for my taste. This will go very nicely with an off white shirt - oh, how convenient! It appears you already have one. For a late GAoP RH pattern recommendation ~ there is only one that I am aware of: 1700s - 1730s waistcoats http://www.reconstructinghistory.com/index...=21&q=1&p=3&r=Y Cut less full than early GAoP waistcoats, the above waistcoat shouldn't get in the way of your holster, if you are wearing the belt and holster on top of the waistcoat. From there, you just need to decide sleeves or sleeveless. Hope this helps! PS - Nice holster and boot straps!

asking for prayers and positive thoughts

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." "Gone where?" Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying. - Henry van Dyke (1852 – 1933) American author, educator, and clergyman -
Well met, and well done, Morgan! Always nice to put a face with the name. I like what you have come up with, and think it is coming along well. Those look like horn buttons? Too bad the sailors palm is not PC (isn't it?), it looks great. Perhaps something similar, plain leather reinforced perhaps? I don't know the historical accuracy, though. The purple socks might work, if perhaps the neckerchief or head scarf were also a purplish shade (and vice versa with the red). Seems like you are on the right track! Oh, and I LOVE your Honu ~
