  1. Oops, sorry for the delayed reaction Yes, self and same, as our Stitchies bad-ness level is always very high ~ I too was disappointed Stitch didn't reach his full outrageous potential in L&S II ~
  2. OK! Buttons are ordered! They are coming from Italy, so about 2 weeks 'til they get here. I will keep you all posted. For any latecomers ~ should sufficient interest be generated, I can place a second order ~ just let me know how many!
  3. Well done, perhaps you should contact the Vikings as well?
  4. Your kids are so cute! One of these days I'll get around to posting mine ~ Diamond the beagle (she was named BEFORE we got her) and Stitch the cat (cough, Overlord).
  5. What kind of horse do you need? My aunt and uncle transport and board horses.
  6. Sorry ~ continuing the hijack ~ But! If we do bury treasure at Fort Zachary, say, Friday ~ and make it clear that the treasure remains there to be dug up ~ could generate attendance to just go looking for the chest, if it looked worthwhile ~ And this is not to say we couldn't bury chests at a few Key West beaches (chests buried at remote beaches might have a 2 free passes to the event, with maps and such?). Love ya, Patrick! Keep that mind going! My vote is green, gold or red accents for boat colors.
  7. As seen on Yahoo's home page today ~ http://www.newyorker.com/online/2007/07/09...only_surowiecki Unfortunately (or not? ), the Pub does not appear on Piracy web sites! Talk Like A Pirate Day comes in first, Pirates! Fact & Legend second, and No Quarter Given third.
  8. Yes, I am excited to receive the shipment. I am pleased with the quality and weight of the button - quite nice, indeed, for such a reasonable price! I have delayed the order to accomodate a late request, so if there are any latecomers to this thread, please contact me ASAP if you are at all interested in these buttons. I hope to submit the order Tuesday, July 17.
  9. Magnificent control, deep waters ~ I love it.
  10. Well, that is just plain sneaky! No, I don't know much at all, other than spammers drive me batty!
  11. Oh, wow, that really sucks - but did you not say that practice makes perfect? (as I run for the door fleeing any airborne objects headed my way!)
  12. Agreed! Rome is fantastic, lovely historical(ish - but good enough for me) drama - hubby and I were glued to the screen. Now we are stuck with Big Love, Entourage and Pirate Master. It's just not the same.
  13. So glad you brought this up! I have my pair of Queen Anne's, got all the goodies to go with them, but need to get to a location to try them out. Any recommendations for the O'Hare area?
  14. Oderlesseye, your cove is MAGNIFICENT! Very well done ~
  15. BOARDING PARTY! Mission, do share those addresses with us, that we may swamp their rotten little arses in PROPER PIRATE STYLE! Please?
  16. WELL DONE! Next thing you know, Harry will have located a proper ship, in needs of some careening ~ can you even imagine how cool that would be?
  17. LAST CHANCE! for buttons! The order goes out this Friday, July 13. Give me a holler if you are interested!
  18. OOOHHHH! I want it! Truth be told, Braze and Cascabel were kind enough to "take me under their wings" at PiP ~ and look where I am now! I'd love to have them watching over me as this whole pirate hobby evolves ~ Iron Bess, where'd you find them?
  19. Simply lovely ~ I wish my hair weren't so straight!
  20. Well, we are 147 days away from PiP 2007 The sheer number of Pub folk planning on attending/supporting this event is simply wonderful! Would it be possible to get an update on marketing efforts? Thank you!
  21. Welcome aboard, Bess! You're in good company ~ Tell us a bit about yourself! I'll have bit o' rum, Thank you!
  22. Button Update! Button Appearance & Construction: I have just received the 1-piece cast button sample, which is almost identical (slight color difference) to the photo in the first post. Actual color appears more antique brass (think kitchen cabinet hardware) ~ the photo has a more coppery tinge on my monitor. Width and depth are comparable to a penny. The shank is a ring (part of the casting process, not welded on after), as opposed to the flat drilled shank seen on the Fleet Wreck button. Button Weight & Sound: This will make more sense if you have 2 pennies - (1) from between 1962-1981, and (1) post-1983. In 1982, the penny composition was changed due to the rising costs of copper, but cents of both compositions appeared that year. 1962 - 1981: 95% copper, 5% zinc; weight: 3.1 grams Post 1983: 2.5% copper, 97.5% zinc; weight: 2.5 grams Weight is very comparable to a pre-1981 penny (both in hand, I couldn't tell one from the other). When dropped, the sound is a little flatter (perhaps also due to the ring on the back) than the metallic ring of a pre-1985 penny, sounding more like my year 2000 penny or the similarly sized zinc fender washer I found. ************** I hope this information is helpful ~ I will be placing the order with the factory by Friday July 13. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to place an order.
  23. Lovely job, as always, Patrick! Your updates are wonderful, especially the photos (visual person, that's me) ~ a constant reminder that my kit, still in its infancy, has a long way to go ~ but I have goals to shoot for!
  24. A sample is on its way to me, should anyone have more detailed questions on the buttons ~
