  1. Ouch... Is it just me, or does it seem even further away from the Fort than last year? Good communication is going to be essential for those *pesky* (wink) meetings and such. Will there be signage directing the Public to the beach for the Living History encampments?
  2. Ack! That is IT! I must find a way to attend next year ~ this convention sounds like too much fun to pass up. Patrick, should you attend, I would be most interested in seeing any photos you might take...
  3. Harry ~ what ages might we be addressing? Some of the presentations we have are informative, but might need some adjustment due to age/maturity/attention span.
  4. Ours are filled out, ready to fax ~ just need the hubby's sig and I will send them tonight. Hi Harry!
  5. My thoughts are with you and yours ~ my deepest regrets for your loss...
  6. Oh! Thank you for the update! We will plan accordingly ~
  7. Ah, jealous, jealous ~ Patrick, will you be able to see Abney Park this week? The convention sounds like a Fantastic Outing ~ 'tis a shame I remain landlocked in the Middle West. *sigh*
  8. Your Attention, Please, Ladies and Gentlemen ~ The Opportunity to Bulk Purchase (a minimum order of 1400 pieces is required) the reasonably-priced Italian Buttons has presented itself again ~ I have received numerous inquiries in the past regarding these buttons, and am willing to arrange for this shipment if sufficient quantities are requested. ALL Interested Persons Should E-MAIL myself immediately. As this shipment comes from Italy, the order needs to be placed within the week to ensure arrival for those attending Pirate's in Paradise. Please note: Due to increased metal and shipping costs, the Button price has increased from $0.25 per button to $0.30 per button over the past year. As ever, I remain, Your Humble Servant, Mary Diamond
  9. Mmmmm ~ Lovely music, Patric! Driving me to distraction, you are, indeed! A lovely velvet frock coat, heavy with ornate buttons, parted at the waist... knickers reaching to leather boots... beaver-felt tricorn with pierced veil and glorious black rooster coque feathers... My favorite garnet ring, Queen Anne's and smallsword at my side... Ah, such dreams ~ bound by the reality of the incomeless winter months. *sigh*
  10. The Roast is an event not to be missed ~ the food is great, the company couldn't be better, and Tony's slideshow last year was fantastic. Count Mark and I in!
  11. No no no no no no no no no ~ That simply will not do. I humbly request you store gear, and wait. Life has a cycle, and I expect the opportunity to participate shall present itself! Not to repeat the obvious, but, as Captain Jim so kindly pointed out, your kit is Already Paid For, and you look Fantastic in it. Patience, friend ~ make no decision in haste.
  12. Myself, being more heat tolerant and cooking challenged than most, happily volunteer to stir the pot, or wash the dishes, as needed. I will even have a proper woolen apron this year.
  13. I will plan on a few meals at your establishment with Mark, as well ~ The giant aluminum wash bowl and serving tray may be available, if the Captain is bringing them down and indicates we don't need it... I will see what else I can do to help.
  14. Mark and I are planning on being there as early Wednesday as possible. Plan to be driving in from Miami... Will post as plans are solidified.
  15. Good Evening, All! Captain Bo, I am most honored to serve ~ I will contact you for sizes and shipping information. Captain Sophia ~ Thank you for your kind commendation! It is much appreciated. **** A Note to All Considering Shoe Purchases ~ this is a busy time, and the shoes will be once again in short supply. Please keep this in mind! I will be placing a large order with the distributor next week ~ Please contact me before Thursday, October 16, to be included in this order. As a reminder, orders are placed only when there is sufficient quantity, due to increased shipping charges. If you have any questions, please do contact me via e-mail. As ever, I remain YHS, Mary Diamond
  16. Ah, to the finest Russian-Arabian Pirate around ~ a very Happy Birthday to you! Remind me to bring toast to RFnext, to throw at you. Or would you accept croutons?
  17. A very Happy Birthday to you indeed, Edward!
  18. Hmmm? Well, that is most certainly a sad turn of events, Amanjira! You will be sorely missed. Mark and I will still be making the pilgrimage ~
  19. Good Morning! As requested, here are the 2" Heeled Buckle Shoes ~ available in Black or White, sizes 6 through 12, priced at $40 per pair. Your Humble Shoe Pirate Servant ~ Mary
  20. Ah, now, you see, Goode Ladies and Gents, you are missing the point (and opportunity) altogether. Kate, you need merely attend Port Washington once a year (Monsoon Season in Wisconsin), and break down camp whilst in your stays. Guaranteed, you will be soaked to the boning ~ Alternatively, you may choose the PiP method M.A.d'Dogge has been keeping secret ~ the Walk the Plank competition, and rescuing shipwrecked crewemates ~ saltwater does a top notch job ~ just ask the Captain!
  21. Fantastic News! Yes, owning a home will be a whole new experience. Other than having children (and playing pirate), there are few other ways to so efficiently decimate your savings. However, the up-side is well worth the learning curves ~ To that end, you may want to consider Lumber Liquidators for flooring. You can purchase solid Bamboo flooring for as little as $2.19 per square foot. Installation (glue or nail - rent the nailer from Home Depot) is pretty easy, but you can also sub-contract it out, if you like. We installed Bamboo ourselves in 2/3 of our home, and really love it. Congratulations again!
  22. The pleasure be all mine Miss Diamond, and I looks forward ta that Fyne Rum. Thank you for the words of support.

  23. Good Evening! So very happy to see you looking like a Fyne Rogue in your new linen shirt, Roy! Now, about those breeches... YHS, Mary Diamond
  24. Oh! Goodness, my dear Lady B, I am so sorry I missed your post! (Hmmm, wondering why it did not show up in my e-mail bucket...) I personally own the 1.5" heel Boots ~ they are simply lovely, but do tend to slouch due to gravity. I am fairly certain the boots won't work for your calf at normal height. If you wear them slouched, that might allow enough room for comfort. Unfortunately, returns and exchanges with this company are simply nauseating ~ Next time we see each other, I will show you my boots ~ perhaps that will help with the decision making process. Having seen both, I can honestly say the shorter heel (1.5") is a much, MUCH better looking boot. However, it is also significantly more expensive this year - $100 for the 1.5" boot in leather, versus $65 for the 2.5" heel leather boot. Keep in mind, also, your foot size ~ if you have difficulty with a restrictive shoe (such as a cowboy boot), you may have difficulty getting into the 1.5" boot, as it is more fitted to the foot. Not to mention that the 1.5" heel is sold out in size 10, and at low stock in size 11. Regarding the higher heeled buckle shoes ~ they are available, priced at $40. Let me know if you require an image posted. As ever, I remain YHS, Mary Diamond
