I haven't been doing much of anything new on my Buccaneer stuff..... other projects keep getting in the way..... Well I did start knitting a cap...... I'm not worried about it though, other than a shipping box for my doglock, I could have it done in about a week of sewing....

Rendezvous are cool about Pyrates... (well the ones out here in California are... once they found out it wasn't a buncha Jack Sparrows......) It IS pre 1840's.... I just have to get the frizzen hardened before the next one. so I can finally fire it... I think Jack and Red Handed Jill are getting impatient fer me to shoot.....

I still have to gold leaf the Candie cards, then they are ready to mail, along with my Patrick Hand cards....

I also have the doglock... but I have to wait until the weather is better (and re- case harden my frizzen) before I can take it out shooting... The coolest thing about living up in the mountains, I know a place I can safely shoot that's only about two miles from where I live.....

All 10 of the Patrick Hand cards are done, (using fusible pellon worked really well), and I have to print, fuse and gold leaf the Candie cards.... So they will be done in time....

At Faire, the Merchants are going to sell whatever sells..... And most of it is going to be Hollywood.... The Merchants at Faire are trying to make a living, not do the historical research for everyone....So if you are looking for historically accurate goods, you should know what you are looking for....

But we're still not putting the toilet seat down.......

The only problem last year, is that my goggles had tinted lenses, so I couldn't see very well at night..... The dust and smoke during the Temple Burn got so bad, I had to get up and move.... My new goggles have clear lenses, so that problem is solved....... I took my two silk scarves that I use for my Pyrate stuff, (just as an afterthought...) Dang, they came in handy worn over my mouth and nose during the dust storms.... That's why I think long cloth scarves will be an appreciated gift..... From what I understand, the dust storms were particularly bad last year... But now I know how to deal with them..... A friend of mine asked me last week why anyone would pay $280 to camp out in the desert during the hottest part of the year, under such harsh conditions..... Because we can! I learned a lot last year, so I will be making some changes to my camping gear...I'm not only doing it because I can, but I'm going to be doing it with style.... as an Airship Pyrate should......

Last year, the rooms were about $90.00 per night, I was trying to find someone to share a room with, but that didn't pan out, so I couldn't afford to go... (at the time, I could afford one night, but not both...) But I'd like to go this year.......
