Whether it's the Pub down the street, or a restaurant in another town or country, what are your favorite places to eat, and what is it about the place that you like? Brag about a hometown favorite, or even post a link to it. This is one my husband and I just discovered, in the coastal town of Florence, Oregon. The Waterfront Depot. Right on the bay, has the atmosphere of a old Pub — wooden floors, old style bar, small eating area. It's a local hangout, and so busy the only reservation time left was 8:15 pm. We got a table right by the windows overlooking the bay, which was pure luck. The lighting is mellow, kinda like lantern or candlelight. Food was extraordinary! We were told by three people — the person who recommended the place, the lady at our hotel, and a waitress at another restaurant — that the dish to order is the crab encrusted halibut. We did. Our waitress just grinned, and said it was as addicting as crack! She was right! OMG was it good. So was the wine, Mount Baker Merlot. So, if you ever get a chance to cruise the Oregon coast, stop in Florence, head to the Historic Bay Front, and make reservations early, since they fill up fast, at the Waterfront Depot. www.thewaterfrontdepot.com (Currently the web site is under construction)

LOL, nice job, Eyes. Only to happy to be one ta give ye a little push in the creative direction. But Patrick is the real instigator. BTW, tried to send you a PM this afternoon, and it told me you couldn't accept any more PMs. I have a question to ask ye.

And Jill, is that not the same table which now has a lot of pyrate initials/names carved into the top? Just like you would find at any tavern. Great job on your table and benches, Michael. I am always envious of people who can do woodwork, as any type of carpenter work is not my forte. Nor is it Chain Shots, unless you need someone to build a log stockade.

Got this one at the library yesterday, and can barely put it down. Great book. A Pirate of Exquisite Mind — Explorer, Naturalist and Buccaneer: The Life of William Dampier by Diana & Michael Preston With maps, prints, and quotes from his letters and journals, it is a fascinating read.

The man needs to stop smoking those mushrooms! Yes, very strange.

Those pictures are amazing! Wonder how hard it would be to try and do something a bit simpler, but still unique?

Papa John's take and bake BBQ chicken pizza.

I just looked at my name in the members list, and it shows I have a reputation of 5. LOL Is that on a one to ten scale, in which case, I guess I'm mediocre.

I saw the sloop vere toward the Relentless and grinned. So, I thought, it appears Jacky is going to gain the crazy Irishman, along with a few Spaniards as well. That should bring a little sunshine into his day. Turning to Africa, who still had a scowl on his face, I said, "Just keep tabs on the Relentless. Go where she goes." "How long we play at dis game?" he groused. "Until I say we quit," I replied, leveling a hard gaze at him. Reaching for the little bag of corpse powder hanging from a grubby red ribbon around his neck, Africa shot back, "Dat man goin' to bring death to us." "Death comes to everyone, sooner or later. You start fearing it at every turn, and you're no longer any use to me." We stood silent a moment, his black eyes boring into mine, his anger shimmering around him like heat waves. Then he spoke, soft and deadly. "I owe you my life, and I gladly give mine for yours to appease the spirits dat brought you to me. But the spirits also say Dat Man a danger to this boat, and it not right dat you make fun. Dey make us pay big price, in dere own time." I gave him a smile. "Well, when the time comes to pay up, we should have a fat hold full of gold to make things square. I say we give them one percent, should they demand appeasement. It will come out of your share, just so they know who did the appeasing."

Testing, testing...1...2...3 Wowzer, the Pub sure looks different. Good mostly, but I, too, miss the "Most recent posts" option, which I used all the time. Haven't decided yet on the gallery pics at the top of the page, but tend to agree with Mission. They are a bit distracting, but maybe that's just because I'm not used to seeing them there. Okay, Stynky, now get to the more important stuff....like new smilies! LOL Pyrate the ones Syren has over at the Tavern. They are great.

LOL Not bloody likely! The man in charge here is sitting on my left. That's Capt. Hayden. On my right is my hubby, Chain Shot, and at the very end of the table is Red-Handed Jill. Next to Hayden is his wife, Fern. I don't remember the names of all those sitting on the other side of the table, but they were a fun lot and great to crewe with.

OH, I am sooo sorry to hear this, and I hope Captain Midnight's son has a full and complete recovery. He has all the prayers I can send, with fingers and toes crossed as well, for both his son, himself and his wife.

Having a motivational reason to get back in shape. After a seven year hiatus, and at an age where I should know better, I may get back into horse riding. This time on a 13 yr old ex-racing thoroughbred. I've been babysitting him, with four other horses, all last week, and he went home last night. But I just really like the guy. His current owner says we're perfect for each other because our hair is the same color (red) and we both get heat rash! LOL Our first official workout-get to know each other will be this Thursday afternoon. I've never ridden a horse this big, so it should be...interesting.

Leaf blowers! Noisy, smelly...and used by people too lazy to pick up a broom. And all the stuff they blow off the driveway/yard, they just blow into the street. Littering, I say!

Very impressive! But, as if anyone here needed another excuse to drink more rum! LOL Would that be called early pyrate recycling? BTW, Bilgemunkey, did you find a nice place to display the key you bought at Nor Cal?

I received Sophia's book today, safe and sound. Really awesome work, you guys! I am really looking forward to getting my book back and seeing all the kewl stuff inside.

Anybody volunteering to wrangle round three? (Note that my hand is NOT up...LOL) Or, do we take a break until event season has calmed down a bit?

Nothing! I bought apricot chicken, and red-skinned potato salad from the deli, along with fresh pico de galo (?) and corn chips. Add beer and wine, presto! Instant dinner.

Seriously, Syren, you need to get these on Etsy. It's really easy, and I think you would do very well. Your things are so unique!

Nope! All you'd see was his black tail as he disappeared into the pine trees. And that for only a nanosecond. Running my hand through the lavender bushes in my garden.
