  4. Only the cook can whistle. Whistling a sign of impending mutiny. Women on ships? some say cuz , well, some were gay. Strongest superstition I know of with ships is coins under yr mast evry time it's stepped. The coinage pays the ferryman o'er the river Styx to transport yer sole after you are drowned at sea. Do I believe that shit? You bet! Ancient copper coin for old fees, new gold coin for inflation under each mast, pair of '06 Indianheads,as that's the Quake date, an' I be a Barbary Coast pirate!
  5. Well, I've a broad musical taste, and, when reenactin' naval battles, a lot of alternative music works real 'swell'. Alice in Chains works on 10' wind waves.... :)

  10. Alla the labor is in sewing, so pick a fabric worthy of your time. Heavy flies longer, lite flutters, but won't take windage. Unfair for me to voice opinions as my ship is real, dictating heavy weather everything. I've worn out at least a dozen, not counting ensigns
  11. Careful, canvas mildews fast and wears quick! Best t' stick with cotton or dacron
  12. Aye, if'n ye need threaten anyone, yer welcome to anything from blades to carronades!
  13. Dunno 'bout the days, but, if'n ye spend the time, make a decent one that will take the wind. Double rectangle, sewn design, grommets, bolt rope, virgin, some rum......wait a minute......
  14. Pretty much 'nuff said, as the 'dont' do it policy should apply to most all antique sidearms, and other militaria. Tried to war an antique sword belt for a while, disintegrated quickly when worn! Now I have this antique sword belt BUCKLE collection started........
  15. Aye,mate, gotcha. There be a registered tall ship, the H.M.S. Rose
  16. Jump on a ferry over there and head over to Sausalito, persent homeport of the Royaliste. Stay over if ya want, but I just dunno 'bout security, only sail now, and the blades are 'home' thataway!
