The Last Word Becomes the First Word
Cpt Sophia M Eisley replied to Captain Booty's topic in Beyond Pyracy
Anyone here from Cleveland? -
I'm snacking on chips, my laptop on my lap, and my cat Frankie purring at my side. I'm refraining from growling over my recent university debaucle. They place everyone's financial accounts on hold each term to make sure we're alright (new news to me), and I literally have til Monday to get myself set up for a new class. In the meantime, I hope the folks that head into the finance dept tomorrow get my long winded message, and can get this shenanigan in order, so's I can take my darned class on time for once. Wait...I said I'd be refraining. Oh darn.

Declare Sumthin' About Th' Hearty Above Ye
Cpt Sophia M Eisley replied to Captain Booty's topic in Beyond Pyracy
^^ Been (black) spotted...many times over. -
My dreams are of an odd sort. I've had a few that predicted birthdays of newish friends, one that involved a nasty car crash (a few days later, I actually was hit, thankfully not bad). I enjoy the ones where favorite places are blended together (picture Walt Disney Renaissance Faire, or the Caribbean at night with vampires), or when friends and such make guest appearances.

Y (Why)? Because we like you!

LOL...that has to be The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. If I am right...here's the next quote: Person 1: The leg is good, It'll bleed plenty and we avoid any necessary organs. Person 2: I was thinking more of a graze... Person 1: Well, you don't want it to look like you just gave up. Person 2: No, I get that...

That is hilarious. Now we do know...Jack.

I'm doing alright. Taking it easy on my right leg (as easy as one can out here), and am getting ready for my trip abroad. Car came back looking great, although a mystery dent I asked them to fix (and paid my own $$ for) isn't quite right, so my car may end up back in the shop.

Just finished my studies for the night (on my current class - Environmental Science). Listening to Itunes on my laptop, and doing a little channel surfing (Spider Man 2 just ended). And woohoo...my car be fixed! I get to pick it up on Monday. *happy dance*

Pirates and the National Body Challenge 06
Cpt Sophia M Eisley replied to Paisley's topic in Beyond Pyracy
Good luck to the crew who be joining this year's Body Challenge. I'll be taking on healthiness (i.e. cutting back a little on the goodies, and exercising just a tad more) when I get back from my trip. For now, I'm doing nothing, as I'm sure the "warm layers" will get me by in a trip to a colder country. (Scotland...next week!) -
I think you're right on the skeletons...I haven't heard of any others perched in the chess playing position at any of the other PoTC attractions. You have two sons heading out on this trip Cpt Grey? Definately take them to Tom Sawyer's Island. I haven't been there myself for quite a few years, but do know they did a bit of spiffing up of the area a year or so ago, and added on more touches that connected with the name (I hear there are the occasional roaming characters of Tom and Huck there too). If you're staying at a resort while you're seeing the parks during your stay, see if you can head out early, as the resort guests do get in an hour early at specific parks (see disneyworld.com for details). I love getting in early myself (as early as a local can get in), as I can avoid most of the foot traffic that hits around lunch time. If you're not into early rising, see if you can split your day into two pieces (morning and evening are great times for maximum attraction riding), and head out of the parks at or after lunch to nap, or head over to the Downtown Disney/Market place area, which has plenty to do for folks of all ages. February shouldn't be too crowded...I'd say it's low to moderate (compared to September or January). One definate item to bring - an umbrella (or four), just in case a downpour decides to happen. Mission Space is a fun ride for some, and not so fun for others. It all rests with how you react to "spinny rides", as I used to call them. The G-force is intense on this one, but if you follow the suggestions prior to riding, you should do ok (don't drink alcohol right before or after though...that made me a little dizzy).

The show may very well be worth your time sir! I caught the movie recently, bought the dvd, and then bought the series set and am playing catch up on the shows (only saw a few when the originally aired, and have seen a few recently on Sci-Fi). I like the movie and the series...the combination of genres (sci-fi meets western with a dash of Chinese) is an interesting combo, and Joss n' casting did a great job putting together this crew. They play very well off of each other. Tying to this, the show does have a funny gag reel : http://www.fireflyfans.net/feature.asp?f=42

Feelin better, and I'm doing a bit of studying whilest I watch a bit of Firefly (dvd set). My car's in the shop gettin' fixed (2K worth of damage), and for a rental car, I got a land yacht! Thanks for the words o' support folks.

I'm alright...still assessing my injuries, but at the moment, I'm just very sore. Hurt my legs a bit though when I whacked them against the bottom of the steering wheel. Anywho, I'm sure I'll be fine in time. My poor car will be fine when I get it in, checked out and fixed (the back has some decent damage). Thankfully, this wasn't a "Cap'n Sophia did it" moment (I pride myself in preventing those from happening), so I won't be in any financial burden. I was just worried about the little one in the other car (she's fine), and the guy and dog I had slowed down for to begin with (they're ok as well, but still).

I'm attempting to shake off some jitters from this evening. I was hit from behind on my way home, a mere block or two away from my destination. *sighs*

That, right there is the part I see in quite a few couples I know. They still have the fireworks, but they've hit a point where they see their better half for who they are, and they love them just as much, and build the path of a long term relationship (the learning, companionship, and partnership Caraccioli notes). I admit the romantic side of me has ushered this thought out of my mind this evening. That, and specific memories of some of the older couples in my family. It gives me warm fuzzies seeing folks who enjoy each other's company so much.
-
I don't completely agree with you on that Jill and Caraccioli. I do see couples out there, some that have been together quite a while, who seem to still have some of that magic that you see new romances experiencing. They either instinctively knew how to connect and keep the magic going, or they learned how to keep that honeymoon phase going via their communication to one another (verbal and nonverbal). They've managed to outdo the biologically induced fireworks (I think that's right) they started out with. With many others though, yep, I'd agree when the phase is over, they're left scratching their heads, wondering what's next, or why they feel so different.

Watching a little tv, though I plan to put on a dvd (The Three Caballeros) in a bit. Just finished a mini cheesecake with raspberries. And I'm reflecting on a bit of sad news today. One of my parent's younger kitties (looks like one of mine, but is female) has leukemia (a virus in cats n' dogs, rather than the cancer sort in humans). *sighs*
