  1. Not at all sir. Have at it! *slides the heaping plate of cake, cream and berries between us*
  2. Awwwww man... ya got me! Nice job... I completely missed that! Here's a rum for pulling the wool over ol' Blackjohn's eyes. Ha! I recognized it immediatly when she joined as Mos Eisley! But then I'm a Star Wars fan too. Thanks Pirate Petee, Mission and Blackjohn. And RumbaRue...I figured a few folks might get the hidden meaning right away...good catch! It was funny when I came up with the name...I didn't figure I was that big of a SW fan, but I guess I am (I was crazy enough to wait for hours at a time at the Ep 2 Convention...ugh). Mission - Indeed...I saw your creation for your bathroom. I see how it can look like the Death Star, though I do see the shape of the Millenium Falcon in it too for some reason. False Ransom - it's my favorite area in the SW movies...by leaps and bounds over Naboo.
  3. Steps in to bid a "good evening" to fellow Pyrates on the east coast... Evening everyone...I caught word (email) of possible gatherings in the future, and hope to be meetin' some of yah whenever I can pull myself away from work. That, and I be needing some education on the drink many call...mead (never had it). Would it be the drink of choice (in reasonable quantities of course), or do other spirits find better favor with pyrates?
  4. Captain - eh, why not? Sophia - a name I happen to find very pretty M. Eisley - the M stands for "Mos". For those SW fans, Mos Eisley is Lucas' version of a pirate city. "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy," said Ben Kenobi of the sand-logged spaceport.
  5. Heads in to the Tsunami Kate, a weathered leather rucksack at my side. I disappear to the kitchen to find myself a plate... A few minutes later...I take a seat at a table bathed in the glow of the setting sun, smiling weakly as I take a fork to a cool, sweet summer treat... *pauses to pay compliment* Those are great pictures, Mercenary Wench. Reminds me of the faires I've gone to, and hope to partake in in the future.
  6. *pinches arm* I feel funny. I'm just happy it's almost Friday. The end of the work week is always the best. And, I'm contemplating seeing Red Eye, or holding out and waiting for The Brothers Grimm.
  7. They may be doing little touch ups to them, or at least I'd hope that's the case. WDW's attraction is missing the dog in the singing pirate's scene, and I'm sure he'll be back. Yikes...I forgot DL's tree house got changed around for Tarzan. So was it not a good change?
  8. Alas, poor Tiki Room, I knew ye well. I walk past that attraction every time, unfortunately not giving it a second glance (it's on my way to PoTC). It's really too bad the work done on it didn't work as the Imagineers had hoped. Maybe someday they'll restore it to its original glory (sans new characters, I mean).
  9. Ahh...then I think I'm along the right track then Duchess. Thank you. The bodice in the following two pictures is snug, but not uncomfortable. However, I have found that the boning just below each of "the girls" bows out just a tad. I figure it would be a bit more form fitting in that area. I'll check out boustiers at the next faire to arrive at my port...to see if a better fit might be had. Pardon the quality of the images, as my flash works only when it wants to these days (I'll be getting a new camera soon, I hope). Boustier Pic I Boustier Pic II
  10. *nods to Dorian* Good evenin to yeh sir. *grins, enjoying the amusement of the men watching the bellydancers*
  11. Thank you sir! *raises my glass and smiles* As MercenaryWench said, you may have an impressive scar to compare with others in the crew afterwards. I'd be one of the bunch...I consider the couple I have to be badges that says I've lived. *swigs*
  12. At the Tsunami or the Pub in general? The Kate occasionally has improptu dances and music. We had a belly dance festival break out once. We occasionally have a fiddler. As for the rest of the pub? We've had Mud wrestling, dancing, drinking, shooting, skinny-dipping, horse back riding, sailing, archery, poetry, etc. If you can't find it here, well, you you haven't had enough to drink. *chokes on the rum* I was referrin' to The Tsunami, but it sounds as if ye be having more than a good share a fun here and at the Pub. Well...here's to hopin' I catch a little of it. At the moment tho, me glasses sit partly full. Might I have another Guiness, sir? Any more than that, and I'll have to loosen the bodice. Ciaran - I don't know ye, but I will be thinking "happy thots" if'n when you go into surgery. I'm sure ye'll be feelin' good as new soon after.
  13. Work is causing me a bit of stress, my studies (finishing college) are taking up some of my evenings, causing Pirate Zombie Syndrome a few mornings during the week. But the weekend...oh the weekend is so near. Friday will bring a rush of panic, and relief, as I get nearly everything done that I need to do, to leave the next day or two open for a bit of amusement.
  14. Oh yeah? *prepares to yell* *snickers...sips my rum* So...I read the story of Tsunami Kate...you've put alot of sweat and elbow grease into 'er. I'm impressed! What sort of merriment can a lass hope to partake in in 'ere?
  15. Why thank ye sir. I think I will start off with a rum, and maybe have a Guiness to chase it down, and chase my neck ache away. *winces*
  16. *Walks in slowly to this unfamiliar, yet inviting establishment, sitting at a table near the front. Nods to the fellow patrons in respect.* This is quite a feast for the eyes...*sniffs* and the other senses it seems. My compliments to the owner. Does anyone have a recommendation to satiate my thirst?
  17. What an interesting, yet informative thread! I have some questions for the group. I've had a leather bodice for about 7 or 8 years now, and am wondering if it would suit a pyrate costume if'n I want to add on a few pieces to it to complete the look. Also, should the bodice feel generally snug all around, or should there be any give? I've grown into my bodice, so to speak (went from a string bean to a lady), and it is a little snug, but if that is the ideal fit, I'll stick with it. Same goes with the "ladies". If they're sitting right where they should be, that's great, but if not, I'll be looking for a new one at the next FL Pyrate fest. If a picture is preferred to see how I fit into said bodice, I can provide that in a day or two.
